When she gets up and runs off, I run behind her. I knew it wouldn't be long before they finally hit a nerve, but I thought she would've hit back. Not run off.

"Reena!" I shout but she doesn't stop, she goes through the door and I move faster to keep up with her.

When I get through the door she's on the second flight of stairs,  bent over and crying. I move to her and hold her up, "Reena."

"I know, their words shouldn't matter but they do. I don't know why Reed, but they do." She begins to sob and I pull her in for a hug. "This morning in class, they called me a whore."

I stiffen and clench my fists, "Who?"

She starts trembling and I run my hands along her hair, "Reena I wish you didn't have to deal with all this, and I'm sorry that I can't do anything about it."

She exhales and after a few minutes stops crying and looks at me, her eyes wet with tears. "I knew it would happen Reed, and I thought I'd just not let it get to me but being here now with all the dirty looks and whispers, it's a lot harder."

I sigh and wipe her cheeks, "Want me to take you home?"

She shakes her head no, "I can't,  plus I have a meeting with the principal."

I raise a brow and really look at her"Why?"

"I'm only sixteen and I'm pregnant, plus the thing with my health."

"Why didn't you tell me?" She bites her lips and drops her head. "What's wrong?"

She takes a deep breath and looks up at me, "I don't want any of this causing more stress for you." She sighs, "What if you they, I don't know,  what if they cause you to lose your scholarship?"

I smile at her and pull her closer to me, "You're concerned about me?"

She rolls her eyes and tries to hide her smile, "Be serious, please."

"Okay." I hold her head up and kiss her gently on her lips, "I'll be fine and I'm also coming with you."

She smiles and runs her eyes from my head to my toes, then tips on her toes and holds my face, "You are so lucky we're outside." Before I can respond she kisses me deeply and I pull her off her feet, holding her tightly against my chest.

"Outside be damned," I whisper in her ear and she shoots me a wicked smile, then laughs.

"What?"

She shakes her head. "I can't even stand my body clothed, much less naked and in public. God forbid, that'd be a real nightmare."

I smile at her and hold her hands, "You would look damn hot." She rolls her eyes, "I'm so serious. You look the cutest, especially carrying my daughter."

She gives me a little smile but bites her lip and looks down, "I'm fat."

"No, you're more thick than fat." Her eyes fly up to mine and she laughs loudly, "When last have you looked at your ass, not to mention your thighs." She laughs harder and I begin to laugh with her.

"Please stop." She says between breaths, "You're killing me."

"As long as you stop doubting how great you look, then deal."

"Deal." She says and holding out her hand, but instead of shaking it, I kiss her instead. "You're beautiful, now and forever." She smiles and her eyes come alive.

"And I love you, now and forever."

I bite my lip and kiss her on her forehead, "You just had to have that one didn't you."

She grins and nods her head. "I won when I chose you."

My mouth falls open and she laughs, "Okay, you're on a roll."

She kisses me hard and I smile. "Let's get back inside. I feel much better now."

"You're welcome."

As we turn to get back inside, I hear someone say my name and everything inside of me freezes, because I know that voice. But that's impossible, it can't be her. As Reena turns to look around I follow suite, and I'm at a loss for words.

"Max."

Before me is the girl I fell in love with. The girl I was in love with for almost five yeara. The girl that I believed would be by my side until I died. The girl that my heart once thrashed for. The girl that broke it when she ended our relationship and left.

Isla.

"Isla?"

She smiles and my chest burns, "You look like you've seen a ghost."

"Well, I thought you were supposed to be in Europe."

"Well, I'm here now." Her eyes travel over to Reena then her round stomach, "I see a lot has changed." Her smile disappears and she looks back at me.

"We need to talk."
