Sahara and Flora entered the main lab room. It was the biggest in the HQ apart from the secret lab underneath. At the back were dispensers and lifts where items were probably sent to the lab below. Both women raced to the back and lifted the door of one lift. Although it was big, it could only fit one person in. Flora grabbed both of Sahara's shoulders with a desperate look.

"I'll go, Sahara!" She said while slipping out of her white coat.

Sahara shook her head and returned the worried gesture to Flora, "whatever happens down there, I can't let you be involved."

Flora frowned, crossing her arms in disappointment, "you're pregnant for goodness sake!"

Sahara gave a small laugh from her nose, "that's not- we're not a hundred percent accurate, Flora."

"Even so... I'd not be doing my job - it's my duty to take care of people here!"

"You wouldn't be doing your job if you go down there - could you kill someone? Do you have the courage to point a gun at someone you know?"

Sahara slipped into the box carefully as to not cause any attention from below and so that she doesn't hurt her self for the sake of Flora who was biting her nails anxiously in front of her.

"Don't move!" A loud but soft voice echoed throughout the emptiness of the lab.

The dark and empty room, with the exception of the glistening lab pieces of equipment, felt strange and heavy for both women as they froze, eyes focused on the short, black barrel of the pistol the wielder carried.

"Move an inch and I shoot you."

It was Gwen along with two other people carrying a gun. They immediately copied the woman also pointing their weapon towards Sahara and Flora.

"You're so smart, aren't you Sahara?" She grinned, slightly inching forward.

"I guess wondering off is a blessing!" Gwen retorted.

Flora moved to cover Sahara who was crouched inside the lift. The pain in her shoulder strengthened due to her uncomfortable position, but she managed to keep a straight face. Slowly, Gwen and the men crept while waving their weapons, urging the two to surrender.

"Gwen! Why do this?! Johnson only cares about himself!" Flora shouted across the room.

Gwen displayed an aggressive look, lifting up her gun towards Flora, "you don't know anything! Johnson. He promised that he would make my home planet better! He promised that he would make a utopia for everyone!"

Flora and Sahara shared a glance. In their eyes, she looked crazy. Both knew that Johnson was a good guy, but if he wanted something, he would do it at all cost. Whether it's the life of his friends or the eradication of an entire species. He would do it.

Flora moved again completely shielding Sahara and landing her finger towards the button.

"I told you not to move!" Gwen screamed, firing a shot at Flora's thigh.

The woman fell to the ground and hissed in pain. Sahara was shocked and tried to shift off the lift, but a determined Flora pressed the button quickly before Sahara could reach her.  Gwen and her men fired shots towards Sahara but Flora was quick and stood back up to act as a shield. Several bullets penetrated the woman. Carefully the door shut. Sahara knocked violently from the inside trying to pry the door open but it was too late. The lift had already started to descend.

"Flora!" Sahara yelled to the top of her lungs.

_____

The hunters felt and heard the reverberating sounds of weapons. It was close. They looked at each other for agreement.

"Dartouga, you go,"  De'miur'gios ordered.

Dartouga separated from the pack, jogging towards the noise that came from the eastern side. The remaining three followed the large heat signatures. They were so close.

_____

"What a waste." Gwen removed her fingers from Flora's unmoving body.

She sighed thinking about what they had said to her. Standing up she holstered her gun back and signaled the men with her to follow. But before she could reach the door, a ringing vibration banged on the metal door.

A continuous and nonstop, and forceful banging made the door curve in. Gwen and her men readied their guns again pointing their deadly weapons towards the hole on the door. However, nothing was there but the calling wind of the corridor.

She signaled one of her men to check. Walking slowly, the armed man tightened his grip on his weapon and very carefully stuck his head into the gap. After a while, nothing was present in the area. Just an empty space lying in front, shrugging it off the man relaxed his body and proceeded to retract his head back.

Before he could, however, an invisible matter pierced through his skull. Blood dripped slowly from the end of whatever it was that hit him. Another slithery sound and the man was off, stumbling to the ground with a hole in the middle of his forehead.

Gwen looked up seeing the mysterious creature form in front of her and the last remaining guard. She shook uncontrollably, her feet planted on the ground. She couldn't move, she had the gun in her hand but she couldn't lift it up.

The man beside her fired and shell after shell clanked onto the floor. The creature just simply stood and watched, amused at the scared expression both humans possessed.

Dartouga swung his spear so quick that it decapitated the man. He then moved to Gwen, studying her shaky form.

"Stay back!" Gwen screamed, firing at the giant.

Unfortunately, she missed the giant. The creature stood inches away from her, towering her small form and with a quick swoop of his large hand he lifted the woman up by the neck. Gwen struggled to breathe, her feet dangling from the height.

Dartouga, on the other hand, enjoyed the choking sound of the human. He brought his free hand and carefully removed his helmet from his face. Holding his helmet steady on one hand, he displayed his furious looking face which made Gwen struggle more in his grasp. Dartouga extended his mandibles in a twitching manner.

"How does a human taste like?" Dartouga clattered even though he knew she would never understand.

With that he attacked the woman's neck, biting off almost half. Without hesitation, Dartouga threw the twitching body to the ground.

"What a filthy taste," he whispered to himself.

Mounting his mask back onto his face, he scanned the area for any other signs of life.
