"What now?!" The impatient doctor Flora scratched her head vigorously, walking towards her tinted white door.

"Flora! She's losing blood!" Dan forced himself in, lying in his arms was a limp Sahara.

"What- what the heck happened- why is she bleeding?!" Flora immediately led the man towards an area with a bed and types of equipment surrounding it.

Dan placed Sahara down carefully on the bed. She was still conscious but weakened by the gun wound. Flora quickly handed a gauze to Dan and instructed him to remove Sahara's shirt so that she could examine the wound further.

"The bullet seems to have pierced through and out, that's good," Flora dug in deeper, carefully inspecting the flooding wound.

She nodded at Dan, "I need you to place the gauze over her back and make sure to put pressure," the woman ordered.

"Sahara! Sahara, look at me! I'm going to have to dig in and see if an artery or vein has been damage it might be a little painful- no- it will hurt a lot but you'll have to put up with it. If I don't look into it now, you might end up losing too much blood. I'm going to have to clean it first... so please bear with the pain for now."

After Sahara gave the sign of agreement, Flora proceeded, taking out a clean cloth and water and dabbing the wet material onto Sahara's gaping wound. The injured woman hissed, clinging onto Dan who was still putting pressure onto the wound.

"Sahara, you have to stay strong!" Dan encouraged, moving his free hand and embraced her to comfort her.

Flora gasped in relief. It took almost an hour for the small operation, but she was able to stitch and dress Sahara's wound.

"Where's Dan?" Sahara asked after waking up from her passed out state.

"He'd gone to recollect what he did. I know he shot you, he told me," Flora sighed.

Sahara frowned. She looked at her wound, as well as noticing that she was wearing clean clothes. She checked the clean, and well-done dressing on her shoulder and smiled at the veteran doctor.

"Thank you."

"You know... you're lucky no arteries or veins were damaged, but you did lose quite a lot of blood!" The doctor said.

Sahara gave her a weak smile enough for the other woman to see. After her examination, Sahara glanced down at her lower body. She wiggled her toes and feet as if she's never had them, then to her legs that had faint bruises and cuts. She moved to her torso, caressing her body from her broken ribs that were now healed, then to her stomach. Grumbling in hunger. Her face shot up and turned to Flora who was sterilizing equipment.

"Flora! How soon can I take a test?!" She suddenly asked the doctor who jolted in response.

"What test?"

Sahara gulped, unsure if - "how soon can I take a pregnancy test?" She asked calmly.

Flora dropped the equipment she was cleaning her mouth widening, "what...?"

Sahara hesitated, she didn't want to discuss what had happened between her and Dan - especially when he shot her. But this was an important matter, at least to her.

"Wait...what did you just ask me? Sahara... are you pregnant?!" Flora asked in disbelief, rushing over to the injured Sahara.

"I'm... not sure..."

Flora grabbed a stool and sat right beside the bed, "tell me..."

"I just realized that... me and him did it recently," Sahara fidgeted, which was out of her usual behavior.

"With Dan?" Flora curiously added in, "I mean, I'm very happy for the both of you... if you are indeed preggers, but why are you so worried? Do you not want a child... with him?"

Sahara bit her lip and turned to Flora, "I... I do but in this current situation..."

"Flora! Johnson! He's trying to create-"

"I know. He's doing that inhumane experiments of his. He tried recruiting much staff to help him with his alien research. Including me. But don't worry, I want none of it."

"You knew?"

Flora smirked, "actually, most already know, I guess some staff couldn't keep their mouths shut. Anyways... that's not important, what's more serious is your condition! I'm no midwife, but I think it'll take a couple more days or weeks for you to find out you're pregnant."

"That's too long..."

"Why? Are you in a rush or something?" Flora nudged her.

"No! Of course not! But... what if I get hurt, or worst?!" Sahara looked at her injury, "would my injuries affect it?"

"I don't think it would, I mean you just did it recently... right?"

Sahara nodded in response. She reached for her tummy and gently gave it a warm stroke. She's noticed something which isn't like her at all. Why was she so anxious?

"Be honest, doc. Would I make a great mother? If I am pregnant."

The doctor gave her another warm smile, "You'll be an amazing mother... just don't wander off and forget your child!"

The joke made Sahara laugh but something bothered her, "Flora, just promise me something..."

"Please don't tell Dan, at least not until we're sure that I am."
