When lunchtime came, Isla and I were sitting by our usual spot under the tree again. We were sitting across from each other and enjoying our meal.

That is, until Ryder and Blake decided to join us.

Ryder sat down next to me while Blake sat next to Isla. I saw her blush slightly and hide her face with her hair.

"What do you want?" I asked them as I bit into my sandwich.

"Can't we just sit here at lunch and enjoy the company of our two favorite people?" Ryder asked as he slung his arm around my shoulders.

"No," I said and took his arm off my shoulders.

He rolled his eyes and took my sandwich out of my hands. Before I could complain, he took a bite.

"Hey! That's mine!"

I tried to take it back but he held it out of my reach.

"If you want it, you have to come and get it," he told me and smirked.

Not feeling like standing up or climbing over him, I glared at him and pouted.

"That was my sandwich," I mumbled.

My jaw dropped to the floor when I saw Ryder finish it. "And it was good too," he added.

The nerve of this boy.

"Can I see your phone?" he asked me and held out his hand.

"Why?"

"Because I told you this morning that I would come find you at lunch so that we can exchange numbers," he reminded me. "Or did you already forget? Did that water wash away your memory?" he teased.

I scowled at him and handed him my phone. In return, he gave me his and I started putting my number in. I saw him take a picture of himself.

"What are you doing?" I asked him.

"Putting in a picture of me for my contact."

I put my contact name as 'awesomest person ever' and handed him back his phone and he gave me mine.

I noticed that he put his contact name as 'sexiest guy ever'. However, he didn't have a picture like he said he would.

I closed my contacts app and saw that he changed my backround to himself. He was smiling and sticking out his tongue.

Not gonna lie, he kind of looked adorable.

"Your welcome," he said when he noticed that I saw my new backround.

"Yeah, okay."

I was laying in bed and trying to sleep.

After I got home, I had to think of an excuse for Dylan as to why I was walking around in volleyball shorts.

I told him that I was talking to Isla and didn't see the fountain so I tripped and fell in. He didn't seem convinced but didn't question it any further.

I was laying on top of my covers and staring out of the window at the moon. It shone through the window and illuminated my room with its shimmer.

Suddenly my phone 'dings' and I looked to see who texted me.

'Sexiest guy ever'.

'You wanna meet up tomorrow for the project?'

'You do know that it's almost 12, right? You couldn't think of a better time to do this???'

'Nope, not really. So yes?'

'Ugh, sure. Where?'

'How 'bout @ the library? '

'Sounds good. What time?'

'Since it's Friday we get out at 2 instead of 2:30. So how about 3? '

'Alright. See you tomorrow'

'Good night, darling'

'Good night, idiot'

I turned off my phone and started to drift off to sleep. Dreaming about a certain bad boy.

"I can't believe it's finally the weekend," Isla groaned as we walked out to the parking lot.

"I know. I waited so long for this," I agreed.

"You doing anything today?" she asked me as she put her backpack in the backseat of her car.

"Uh, yeah. I'm gonna meet up with Ryder to get started on our project."

"Oooh. At his house?" she asked and wriggled her eyebrows.

I shoved her playfully and laughed. "No you idiot. At the library."

"Well you know there are enough dark corners in the library."

"Oh my god. Who are you and what did you do with my innocent friend Isla?"

"I guess you started rubbing off on me. So technically this is your fault," she accused and got into her car.

"Yeah, yeah. Okay."

She turned on her car and pulled out of her parking spot. "Call me later and tell my everything that happened!" she called and drove out of the parking lot.

I chuckled to myself and walked over to my bike. I stowed my backpack away and put on my helmet.

I looked around for Ryder. I didn't have any classes with him today but I didn't see him in the hallways either.

It's fine Kennedy. He's old enough to take care of himself.

And besides, it's not the first time he decided to skip school. So why were you worrying so much?

I turned on my bike and drove to the library.

I had Isla give me the directions because I didn't feel like asking google maps or driving around aimlessly for hours.

There was a bit traffic so when I got to the library it was 2:30.

I turned off my bike and placed my helmet on the seat. I didn't feel like going inside yet since there was no way he was already here anyway and I would spend enough time in there later.

There were a few people passing by. Most of them either shopping or going home after school or work.

I looked around and saw a somewhat run down soccer ball laying by the corner of the parking lot.

Only Dylan and Nathan knew that I absolutely loved soccer.

You know how Isla loved basketball? Well that's me with soccer.

I played pretty good and always won against Dylan. He said that I should try out for the school's soccer team, but honestly I was kind of reluctant.

I didn't like playing with catty girls who would cry over a broken nail or a ripped out hair extension. No thank you.

I got to soccer ball and walked back over to where my bike was standing.

Since the parking lot was mostly empty, I decided to play a little bit with it. I either tried to keep it up on my knees or I just ran around with it.

After some time while I was concentrating on my footwork I heard someone talk.

"So is this what you meant when you said that you could beat me in other things?"

I looked up and saw Ryder leaning against my bike with his arms crossed over his chest. He looked really attractive in his dark jeans and black V-neck.

He was wearing a pair of dark sunglasses and his hair was tousled.

"How long have you been standing here?" I asked him.

I picked up the ball and walked over to my bike. That's when I notice that there were two bikes and he wasn't leaning on mine.

"That's your bike?" I asked and admired it.

He nodded. "I felt like taking it out for a ride again. And to your other question, I've been standing here long enough to know that you should definitely try out for the school's soccer team."

"Yeah, no thanks. I don't really wanna play with a bunch of girls who won't run properly just so that their make up doesn't come off."

He chuckled lightly and shook his head. "You didn't let me finish.

He took off his sunglasses and hung them on the neckline of his shirt.

"You see, our school doesn't have a girls soccer team. Only a boys one."

Before I could interrupt and tell him that I'm not a boy he continued.

"And yes, I know that you are very much not a boy. But I saw the way you played and I think that if you show coach your talent, he might let you on the team. It would definitely need a good player like you."

"And why would I do that?" I asked.

"Because I can tell that you want to. You're just scared of them being better than you and you making a fool out of yourself."

I kept still, giving him his answer. He was right.

"How about this, if I let you play against the best player on the team and you realise that you are equally as good or better, will you try out?"

"I guess."

"Great!" he clapped his hands together. "Then let's play."

He walked towards me and took the ball out of my hands.

Wait...

"You're telling me that you're the best player on the team?"

"Surprised?" he asked and smirked.

"A little.." I mumbled and went to stand across from him.

"Okay, the two trees over there are my goal and the two rocks yours. Got it?"

I nodded slowly and got ready.

"The first one to score two goals wins. If you beat me, you try out. And go!"

He ran towards me and I tried to steal the ball but he dodged and ran past me. I quickly caught up to him and managed to steal the ball.

I manoeuvred so that I'm running back towards my goal. Ryder noticed and tried to catch up to me. He got close so I kick the ball and it goes flying through the two rocks.

"Whoo!" I yelled and threw my arms up in victory.

Ryder got the ball and came back to the parking lot.

"Good shot. Let's go again."

We got into position and I started running towards my goal. I tried to fake out Ryder but he caught on and managed to steal the ball from me.

Damn it! That usually worked on everyone.

He ran towards his goal and I raced after him. Before I could catch up, he shot and made it in between the two trees.

"Goal!" he shouted and went to get the ball.

He came back and kicked the ball towards me.

"Alright. One point each. Next person to score a goal wins. Let's see what you got."

I slowly ran towards him and he tried to steal the ball but I twisted around and managed to get around him. He came up beside me and I kicked the ball forward. We raced after it and he got it first but I stole it back.

I eyed the goal. It was a cheap shot because almost no one could get the goal from this angle. But if I don't do it know, he would win and I couldn't let that happen.

I kicked the ball and it flew through the air. We both looked up and watched it soar through the air and right in between the two rocks.

We both gasped. Even I didn't expect it to make it in the goal.

"And the crowd goes wild!" I yelled and started  jumping around.

"Wha...how...not even Blake can beat me when we play one on one," he said with an astounded look on his face. "And that was amazing!" he yelled in disbelief.

I grinned widely and jumped into his arms to hug him. I wrapped my legs around his waist and he held me up.

It seems cliche but it was as if time stopped.

We gazed into each others eyes and I saw something that I had never seen before in him.

It was admiration and fondness.

I knew he could see the same thing in mine.

I felt his warm breath hit my cheek. Slowly we leaned in and I pressed my lips against his. He carefully moved his lips against mine, as if he were to press to hard, I would break or disappear.

This kiss was different than the other two. The others were teasing and flirty, while this one was full of compassion and love.

I slowly tangled my fingers in his hair and his grip on my waist tightened.

We pulled away and he smirked at me.

"If I didn't know any better I'd say you have a crush on me," he said.

I hit his shoulder softly. "Way to ruin the moment," I said and smiled at him.

He gave me a smile in return. A real smile. Not a sarcastic one or a mean one, but an actual smile that shows that he's happy at the moment.

He put me down but didn't let go of my waist.

"We should work on our project more often," he said.

I gasped and covered my mouth with my hand. "The project. I completely forgot about it!" I said and started laughing. "What time is it?"

He took my phone out of my back pocket and checked the time.

"Almost 5," he answered and slid it back into my pocket, letting his hand linger there.

I swatted his hand away and wiggled a warning finger in his face. "Hey, let's not get ahead of ourselves," I said and stepped out of our embrace.

I immediately missed the warmth of his body.

"I need to get home," I told Ryder and walked to my bike.

"Alright." Ryder walked in between our bikes and leaned against his.

I put my phone in the compartment and turned to Ryder. "How about next time when we meet up for our project we actually work on our project," I suggested and put on my helmet.

"Can't promise anything," he said and smirked.

I rolled my eyes and turned to around to get on my bike. I felt a hand lightly hit my butt before I sat down. I glared at Ryder who was standing there and trying to look as innocent as possible.

"I will break your hand."

He smiled at me. "No you won't."

I rolled my eyes and turned on my bike. "Bye, idiot."

"Bye, darling."

I gave him one last smile and then drove away from the library.
