Wandless magic was a curious thing.

It was difficult, no doubt. We'd been taught horrible things could happen if you performed it inadequately.

Now, after spending a week in the same room I was in during the summer, I realised that; burns and cuts I accidentally inflicted on myself scattered my body.

Though, they gave me an opportunity to train my wandless healing, too. I wasn't even great when it came to healing wounds with a wand, so the fact I had no option but to try without one pushed me forward.

Training myself day in and day out made time fly by much quicker than the last time I was locked in here, and I cursed myself for not getting the idea earlier.

At least my time in here amounted to something now. It felt much better.

And while I did break my head about Luna at least five times a day, the thought she was here in the first place only fuelled me to get better at whatever I tried to learn that day.

I wondered whether she stayed in a room close by. Or whether she stayed in a room, at all. They wouldn't throw her in the dungeon, would they?

Did Malfoy Manor even have a dungeon?

I sighed loudly, dragging a chair towards the middle of the room before positioning myself in front of it.

Concentrating, I closed my eyes, visualising the chair forcefully flying against the bare stretch of wall behind it. My brows were knitted together tightly, and I took one last deep breath before channelling all my energy into the spell.

Though, before I could shout out the words "Flipendo," in hopes it would have the desired outcome, the door rattled open, and I didn't even open my eyes as all that channelled energy focused on the door instead of the chair.

I heard it instantly fall shut again. Yet, as I flinched at the sudden noise, my heartbeat thudding in my chest, I was delighted to see the spell had actually worked.

My eyes were trained on the door, watching it intently as it creaked open once more. My heartbeat picked up, not quite sure whether I wanted to know who was behind it.

There weren't many faces in the manor I'd be delighted to see, so the chances of the following encounter being pleasant were slim.

But not none.

My eyes widened at the sight of platinum blonde hair, and with my hand against my chest, I leapt towards Draco with a gasp.

"Oh my god," I mumbled, an apologetic expression on my face as he stepped into my field of vision completely. "Are you okay?"

His demeanour resembled that of a kicked puppy; small wrinkles forming on his forehead as his brows slightly furrowed. Though, his eyes were still wider than usual.

"That's one hell of a welcome," He grumbled, rubbing his forehead as he forced the door that had probably hit it shut behind him shut.

A small smirk tucked at the corner of my mouth at his playful attitude, and he returned it as soon as he noticed mine.

"You wouldn't want it any other way," I beamed, taking his hand off his forehead to inspect it myself. The simple touch of his hand in mine had the smile on my face deepen.

Out of the corner of my eyes, I watched as he scanned my face before his gaze flew over my entire body once. He visibly relaxed when he couldn't find any obvious injuries, and the thought of him worrying, not knowing whether I was alright or even alive made me sigh loudly.

The sound made his eyes jump back up to mine, and I ruffled through his hair once before my hands dropped behind his neck, intertwining there.

I tilted my head slightly as his arms automatically slung around my waist. For a moment, I just enjoyed the way he felt so close to me; relieved to see him in one piece, in the first place.

But soon enough, the obvious question rolled off my tongue, breaking the comfortable silence.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, frowning slightly as my eyes darted over to the door behind him. If he was sneaking around to spend time with me, I wasn't sure if the gesture was worth his life. "Is it safe for you to be here?" I corrected.

He rolled his eyes, the corner of his mouth twitching into a smile.

"No, I've got the whole manor watching me; now they know I've betrayed them and lied to them, and they will surely kill both you and me." He deadpanned, my brows furrowing at his words. Then, a low laugh rumbled through his chest, escaping his lips as he hit the back of my head lightly. "Of course it's safe, dummy."

"That wasn't even remotely funny, you know," I snickered, light amusement in my voice before hitting the back of his head right back. "Why is it safe?"

"Ah," He hummed, bringing a bit of distance between us and opening the door out of the room. He gestured for me step out, and a little hesitantly, I followed his request.

He started leading me down a corridor to our left, and while I should probably register my surroundings to draw a better picture of the manor inside my head, my eyes were trained on him, and him only.

"It's safe because every single one of them left for a, uh, mission-" He stumbled slightly over the words, though picked up the confidence missing in it in his next sentence. "-And the bloody idiots trusted me with staying here."

My brows shot up at the explanation, though I wasn't as content with the fact as he seemed.

"Are you, you know, sure? That they're not just waiting for you to do exactly this?" I wondered, pointing back and forth between him and me.

"Do you really think that little of me?" He gasped, pretending to be offended by my words before he shook his head almost in disbelieve. "They tried that twice, already. Their surveillance charms are just too obvious, though. There aren't any this time around."

"So the first thing you do with their trust is break it?" I asked in amusement, and he nodded without hesitation.

"For my girlfriend; of course."

I snickered, though beamed brightly at him as I nudged his shoulder with mine. "Girlfriend, is it?"

"Oh, what? You don't like it?" He teased, and I shook my head playfully.

"I love it," I mumbled, a smile on my face as I squeezed his hand a little tighter.

He hummed in contentment, nodding at my answer mockingly before we wandered down the long corridor quietly.

If the manor was truly empty- My smile dropped at the thought, and I stopped in my tracks.

"Where's Luna?"

Draco shifted uncomfortably, his smile disappearing off his face just as quickly. He sighed. "I'm sorry-"

My heart dropped at the way those two words sounded out of his mouth; so much guilt in his voice as he spoke them.

"What happened to her?" I interrupted him, expecting the worst as I felt the colour drain off my face.

"Oh, Merlin, no," He breathed out, seeming almost relieved once he realised where my mind went. "She's in the dungeons." His eyes were fixated on the floor, head hanging low and shaking slightly in complete and utter guilt.

Yet, his words sparked a flicker of relief in me. At least she wasn't dead, I caught myself thinking. Though, the thought immediately made me shudder.

"Wren is gonna fucking murder me," He sighed, and my eyes fell back on Draco currently propped against the wall in between two landscape paintings, hands buried in his blonde hair.

"That she might," I sighed, tugging on his arm in order to get him to move towards the dungeon. "I promise I'll duel her if I have to, though." I managed to form a small smile on my lips in order to cheer him up. "Please don't blame yourself, Draco. I know Luna won't."

He groaned at the thought, shaking his head as he pushed himself off the wall behind him. Grabbing my hand, he swiftly turned another corridor before we began hurrying down a flight of stairs.

"That's just because Luna is too nice for her own good."
