"Haven't you heard," Harry said, "that little cockroach is trying to get Hagrid sacked!" His face was full of anger as he explained Malfoy's little plan to me.

"So that's why he's been laying it on this thick?" Harry nodded.

"Well, haven't you heard!" I began with a smirk on my face. "I'm about to make Malfoy's life a lot more difficult." He narrowed his eyes in confusion, trying to figure out what I was talking about. "What? You didn't think I would just let him ruin an entire hour of my day 'tutoring' me, did you?"

"Malfoy is your tutor?!" He said surprised, his eyes widening at the realisation.

"Hermione didn't tell you?" I asked, my face filled with confusion. He shook his head. "We've hardly seen her around at all," He admitted. "We don't walk to class together, she just pops up out of nowhere. And the last time she took time off of her books was when we went to see Hagrid a few days ago."

"Do you think she might be overdoing the whole 'being the best at everything'-thing?" I gave him a look of concern, which he mirrored.

"Well, Ron is convinced she's taking more classes than her timetable even allows.." He said, thinking about my question.

I visibly cringed at the mention of his best friends name and immediately scolded myself for it. "What was that?" Harry asked, a suspicious undertone in his voice.

"What was what?" I replied, a little too fast.

"That."

"Huh?"

"You know what I'm talking about, cut it Y/n." His manner became more serious.

"I just don't want to talk about him right now!" I sighed, my voice a little too loud, making the few students scattered around us turn our way. I rolled my eyes at them, "There's nothing to see here!" I spat and they all turned back to what they were doing.

My brother's brows still furrowed, I knew he wouldn't drop the subject as easily as this. "What did Ron do? He didn't tell you he kind of.. -"

"-No, he didn't tell me anything, that's the problem!" I said defeated, knowing he wasn't going to stop asking questions, anyway. "If he had a problem with me I'm sure we could've just talked it out. Or at least have it out in the open." I sighed, frustrated by Ron's actions.

"What in Merlin's beard are you talking about, Y/n?" Harry said, looking as confused as ever.

"I overheard him at dinner last week, you know, talking about Slytherins like that. I just don't think it's fair." I burst, letting go of all the bottled up energy around the subject.

A knowing expression formed on his face and he looked at me apologetically. "Oh, that." He said. "I know for a fact Ron doesn't have a problem with you, I promise. Slytherin's just get under his skin somehow. Especially Malfoy." My brother sighed at the mention of the blondes name.

At least something we shared; our common hatred for the spoilt brat.

"And when you said you were going to sit with them he was just worried, I guess. He doesn't want you making friends with the wrong people, that's all."

I snickered at the last part, "Funny, that's just what Malfoy said, too," I said sarcastically and turned around to get back to the dungeons.

Maybe it was time to figure out myself who those right people were.

"Heard there's trouble in Potter-Paradise, Potter."

Showtime, I thought as soon as I heard Malfoy's voice.

"Heard you should keep your nose out of my business, Malfoy," I said confidently and he made himself comfortable on the other end of the couch I occupied, completely ignoring my comment.

It was around 10 by now. The common room almost completely empty and only illuminated by the fireplace in front of me. "Don't you have anything better to do than snoop around trying to find out what I was up to today, anyway?" I laughed sarcastically, not even facing the blonde boy next to me.

"I certainly do. In fact, I was busy talking to father about your beloved chicken's fate today. It's not looking good." Oh, how I wish I could wipe that smug smirk off his face.

I was already reaching for my wand, ready to hex him when I quickly stopped myself. He's trying to get a reaction out of me, that's what makes it so fun for him. And even though he knew Buckbeak was my weak spot, I tried to stay as calm as I could.

"Well, have you told daddy about me, too, then?" I mocked, an innocent smile on my face. "You did promise me, you know." A fake pout found its way onto my face when I hinted towards what he had threatened me with in the hospital wing the other day.

I could see his body tensing up at the mention of his father, his eyes narrowing with anger. I was standing up at this point, ready to leave this argument a winner.

Halfway to my dorm, I turned my head over my left shoulder to face him one last time. "You should probably mention your little obsession with me next time," I winked and turned to get to bed with a satisfied smirk on my face.

Faster than I could even process Malfoy jumped off his seat, storming towards me with a quick pace. His face so tense a vein popped out of his forehead.

Next thing I knew, the blonde had my body pushed against the wall of the common room, holding his wand against my neck with pressure. His breath was heavy and he looked at me with hatred in his eyes.

"You better not forget who you're talking to, Potter," Malfoy hissed, increasing the pressure on his wand against my throat. "If you can't even get your own brother and his friends to like you, the only reason I would talk to my father about you is to inform him the other Potter is even more pathetic than the original one!"

I said nothing for a while; the way my smirk faded made one appear on his face, which was still just inches from mine. "That's what I thought," He smirked, finally lowering his wand and stepping a few steps away from me.

The small number of students still left in the common room all had their eyes on us while exchanging whispers with each other every now and then.

A single glare from Malfoy all had them turn back to what they were doing, though, similar to how it happened with Harry today.

I left without saying another word, my middle finger in the air speaking volumes.

I shook my head when I entered my dorm, letting Wren know our plan didn't work out quite as well as we had hoped. "Well yeah, we could still hear him yelling in here," She said with an awkward smile on her lips.

"You know, you should just leave Draco alone," Pansy butted in. This was the first time she ever said a word to me. "All he does is talk about how annoying you are."

"Oh, does he now?" A smirk spread across my face and Wren suggestively raised an eyebrow in return.
