Nat POV

I racked my brain trying to think of a solution for this anxiety and fear filled child.

"Want to go up to my room?" I asked gently knowing all they wanted was to get out of that bed.

The child nodded softly their weariness and tiredness evident in their eyes. Bruce walks over hearing our conversation.

Y/N tenses up quickly as he comes over. They keep a firm eye on him as he approaches us. He swiftly pulls the IV out causing the teen to flinch.

Bruce registering their discomfort quickly spoke. "Just come down if you need anything like pain meds or anything." I nodded in response thanking Bruce as he walked away.

What was this kid's deal?

Me and Wanda help the kid out of bed and support them as they stand up being careful of them losing their balance. Once they were stable on their feet, I take their good hand and lead them to my room.

Y/N keeps their head down avoiding eye contact as we walk past everyone. Mutters rose up as everyone started to ask about them. We kept walking ignoring the whispers.

Y/N POV

I followed Nat up about a million stairs before we stood in front of a door.

"Here's my room," the redhead said gesturing to the door in front of us. "And that's Wanda's," she continued pointing at the door that Wanda had disappeared into.

The door creaked open as I stepped into Black Widow's room. I spun my head taking everything in. A weird sense of deja-vu overcame my body.

A large bed sat in the middle of the room pushed against the wall. Grey pillows and cushions sat up neatly on the bed with a large white and gold blanket covering the cream coloured duvet. Blue and red posters hung above the wall with polaroid photos of her and the other avengers were dotted around the room. Golden fairy lights were wrapped around the curtain poles illuminating the room softly. On the other side of the room was a large mahogany desk with a silver laptop and a neat pile of papers stacked neatly rested. By the door was a small piano with notes and songs resting on the stand.

I lightly pressed my finger on a key and it sang out joyously. I had always loved the piano. I learnt when I was little and god did She love hearing me play her music before...

I looked up and saw Nat watching me. I backed away from the piano not wanting to insult her or break any hidden rules she might have had. I perched on the edge of her bed. The blankets were so soft and thick. I ran my fingers along the duvet letting the material distract me from my intrusive thoughts.

"I'm going to get a drink. Want anything?" Nat piped up. I looked at her as a wicked plan cooked up into my brain. I shook my head.

The redhead nodded causing her curls to bounce on top of her shoulders as she left. She smiled at me and left shutting the door behind her.

Most plans take lots of planning and careful consideration but others just hit you. This one hit me like a ton of bricks.

I ran to the window taking this opportunity to put my fine plan in action. They were just going to send me back to Her. I couldn't go back.

I couldn't!

I pushed open the window. I hurled all my bodyweight against it to shove it open nearly throwing myself out of it. I looked down to see how I could get out.

A silver drainpipe ran along the side of the tall building before stopping at the pine coloured grass.

I shuffled across the windowsill reaching for the drainpipe. I shut the window behind me so Nat wouldn't know where I had gone. I wrapped my fingers around the slippery metal of the pipe.

I gagged as the gunge from the pipe dripped onto my fingers and knuckles. I took a deep breath and let go of the windowsill.

The wind streamed around me as I slipped down the drainpipe. I fell quickly down not wanting anyone to see me.

After a few seconds, my feet hit the soft soil of the Earth. I let go of the pipe and ran as fast as I could.

My lungs screamed at me as my breathing sped up as I ran out of the compound. I looked around desperately not knowing where to go. Left or right? Fifty-fifty?

Knowing I had to keep moving, I turned right. I had to get as far away as possible they were probably already searching for me.

My legs burned, angry at me for running. I hadn't run for years. I dodged through people and tried to keep out of the view of the CCTV which was practically impossible as cameras were everywhere.

Trees lined along the horizon. I grinned knowing I was not far.

I sped up wanting to get to the forest where I was found.

God I was naive!

It was some stupid park lined with playgrounds with children and their mothers running around.

I stood still, squinting my eyes trying to see what was in the distance. I could just about makeout the forest in the far distance.

I collapsed on a nearby bench trying to catch my breath. I had run miles. I could feel the blood pulsing in my head and neck giving me the horrible feeling that I was about to throw up.

The forest was miles away and if I ran any further I would end up collapsing. I leant my head in my hands trying to think of a plan. I had never felt so vulnerable.

Avengers searching for me. I knew She was searching for me and I was lost in a big city with the one place I knew miles away.

I shook my head trying to shake out the memories of Her. I did not want to fall into another stupid seizure due to my flashbacks.

I lifted my head checking my surroundings to make sure I was alone.

But oh I wasn't.

Nat POV

"Guys they are gone!" I shouted hurrying into the living room.

Everyone looked up.

"You didn't see that coming?" Pietro snapped sarcastically, earning a punch to the arm by Wanda.

"Jarvis search CCTV footage for Y/N," Tony ordered the AI.

Wanda's arms wrapped around me as Tony looked through the footage.

After a few minutes, his voice boomed. "Got them!"

He read out their coordinates and me, Wanda and Clint ran out as fast as possible.

Before too long, we saw them. They were sitting on a bench clearly out of breath and panicking. I stepped out of the door and walked over to them.

Y/N POV

I saw a man watching me from a tall building; I think his name was Clint. Wanda was sitting in a car nearby keeping a careful eye on me too. And Natasha was walking towards the bench I was sitting on.

I stood up quickly knowing I should run. But I couldn't. She would catch me easily as would Wanda and Clint. Nat noticed me considering whether or not to run and sat down on the bench calmly.

"Where are you trying to go?" she asked calmly looking straight ahead.

"Home," I answered rudely as if the answer was obvious.

Wait, hang on? How many years had She kept me for?

"What year is it?" I asked quietly, terrified of what the answer was.

I had met Her around 2010.

"It's 2022. Why?" Nat said finally looking at me confused.

I felt my stomach drop almost like it had just fallen out of me. I collapsed onto the bench covering my face with my hands as tears streamed down my cheeks.

Nat edged towards me and hugged me. I allow her to comfort me for a second then pull away.

"I was kidnapped. In 2010. 12 years ago," I stutter.

Nat POV

I KNEW IT WAS THEM!
