Chapter 94

"Adria, really, I don't think this is such a good idea," Arden protested for about the fifth time, pulling on Adria's arm as she tiptoed out of her room.

"Don't worry, it's only one, and it's quite hilarious when he's angry," Adria giggled, clasping her hand over her mouth as she pulled Arden along, "come on Arden, it'll be fun!"

Arden sighed, a frown taking over her face at the excited look on Adria's. She knew that the girl wanted to get Benji back for what he had done to them, but she was sure this was a little too extreme.

"Fine you get the shaving stuff, I'll make sure he stays asleep," Arden sighed, pushing Adria along to the bathroom, and when the girl saluted her, descending the stairs quickly to the other bathroom to get a much better razor, Arden hurried off to Benji's room.

She looked around the hallway before she crept inside, silently apologising to Adria who of course, couldn't hear her before she crept softly over to Benji's bed, "Benji," she whispered, softly nudging the boy until he woke up, his eyes fluttering open and a frown of confusion evident on his lips.

"Arden?" he questioned, suddenly sitting up in his bed and running a hand through his hair as he done so, she sat at the edge of his bed, almost unable to think as the multiple thoughts running through Benji's head travelled into hers.

"Adria's going to kill me, so you owe me," she warned him, wagging a finger in his face which only furthered his confusion, "she was going to shave off your eyebrow, but I thought it was a little too cruel, so I'm here to warn you when I'm supposed to be making sure you stay asleep."

He bit his lip to stop himself from smiling so widely that the girl in front of him actually cared enough to warn him, and of course she cared, she hadn't known him very long but she considered him a friend, not to mention that she was developing a rather large crush on the boy.

"You didn't need to warn me, it's okay, I'm used to it," he laughed softly, sitting his hand down on his bed, his cheeks heating when he realised he had actually placed his hand on top of hers and neither of them was making any protest to move.

She smiled, "well I wanted to, would you really want to be going around with one eyebrow?"

"Well no, but I'm sure I could totally rock the one eyebrow look," Benji laughs, unsure why all the sleepiness he previously felt had completely left his body at the sight of her smile.

"Oh yeah, you could," she nods, a laugh of her own escaping her lips, "Adria will be here any moment, so just, be prepared," Arden smiled once again, heaving a breath before she pushed herself forward, pressing a kiss to Benji's cheek quickly, both their cheeks spreading pink and soon after did Arden stand up.

"You woke him?!" Adria gasped, seeing Arden turn around suddenly and Benji clearly awake in his bed.

"No," Benji shook his head, "I heard the door creak, I was barely asleep."

"Mhmm," Adria nodded, eyeing the two of them, the moonlight illuminated the room clearly, so it wasn't hard to make out the blush on the two teenagers faces, "I think we should make this prank war interesting."

"Interesting?" Benji repeated, sharing a look with Arden.

"Yeah," Adria nodded, moving forward so she was closer to the two, "You, Arden and Alina and Lia, me, Sirius, James and Alfie, we'll initiate teams tomorrow, what do you say?"

"Wait, you don't want me on your team?" Arden frowned, her eyebrow raised.

"Well, Arden, I love you, I really do, but it seems you have a bit of a soft spot for my brother," Adria bit her lip to stop herself from smirking when she saw Arden's head bow, "so, you in or out?"

"I'm in, obviously!"

"Great, but there is a slight problem," Adria sighed, shaking her head as she done so, as much as it did weird her out slightly that the two in front of her clearly liked each other, Sirius was right when Benji could've been a twat about her relationship with Sirius and chose not to be, so it looks like matchmaker Adria was making a comeback.

"Which is?" Arden trailed off, frowning as she took a seat on Benji's bed, she couldn't deny that she was awfully tired that Adria had pulled her out of bed at three in the morning.

"Well I can't have an enemy sleeping in the same room as me, can I?!" Adria exclaimed, keeping her voice low so she wouldn't wake anyone else, "I guess I'm kicking you out, Arden, as much as I love you."

"What, Ads?!" Arden exclaimed, her arms flailing around as she looked at Adria in disbelief, she was too busy listening to Benji's thoughts that she didn't hear what Adria was planning, "where am I going to sleep?"

"Well your team member has a double bed," Adria shrugged, winking at Arden whose face heated up considerably, "I'm sure if you asked him nicely-"

"Adria," Benji growled, "can I talk to you?" he stood up suddenly, grabbing Adria's hand and pulling her out of the room quickly, guiding her to the bathroom far away from his room.

"Sup bro?"

"What are you doing?" he huffed, "is this you trying to embarrass me because you don't like the thought of me liking her or something?"

Adria rolled her eyes, pushing the bathroom door shut, "Benji, you like her, she likes you, it is so blatantly obvious, and here I am trying to help you. It's a romance novel extravaganza!"

"I don't understand you sometimes," Benji shook his head, punching the bridge of his nose as he done so.

"Look, the girl you like sleeping in the same room as you?!" Adria exclaimed as though it was obvious, and it was, Benji was just too oblivious to realise, "late night talks, accidental cuddling, Benji, you two are going to be alone, you could get to know her without one hundred other people around you!"

"You're right," Benji mumbled, "but you aren't forcing her, Ads, I swear, if she isn't comfortable then she is sleeping in your room!"

"Of course, Benji," Adria chuckled, patting his chest as she left the room, making her way back to his so that she could get Arden, "hello my dear child."

"You are so weird," Arden shook her head, "now can I ask what the hell you are doing?"

"You like him, don't you?" Adria rolled her eyes when she bit her lip, "I'm not stupid, Arden, and as much as it's a bit weird, how else are you actually going to get to know the idiot that is my brother, one on one when there is about twenty billion other people in this house?!"

Arden let a laugh escape her lips, "but I don't want him to feel uncomfortable."

"Funny because he said the exact same thing about you," Adria smirked, patting Arden's cheek, "have a good sleep."

"You two, Adria," Arden chuckled, rolling her eyes.

"I will, and only sleep, remember," she warned, pointing a finger at the both of them before exiting the room.

"Well I can't say this isn't weird," Benji chuckled softly, switching on the light to his room. Arden didn't want to admit that she was staring at his - shirtless - torso, but she couldn't really blame herself, so reluctantly, she forced her eyes away as she stood rather awkwardly in the room, watching as he moved around with his cheeks still heated up and his heart racing furiously, "so, seeing as Adria is a twat, it looks like you're stuck with me."

"That's not a bad thing," Arden laughed softly, moving over to his bed, "I can always go back to Adria's room, if you don't want me here."

"No, no, no," Benji shook his head, "you don't have to, I mean, unless you want to, I don't want you to be uncomfortable, or anything like that, really, if you want, then sure you-"

"Benji," Arden laughed, placing her hand over his which conveniently stopped his rambling, "I want to stay."

"Really?!" he gasped, brightening drastically, "W-well, that's, um, yeah that's good." He nodded, unable to stop the grin that fell onto his lips.

"Can I tell you a secret?" she asked, frowning slightly as she played with the soft blanket atop of his bed, her eyes trailing up when the blanket was draped over her by none other than Benji who nodded.

"Of course, you can," he chuckled, pushing himself up from the bed and to the light which he turned off, seeing as it looked like the pretty girl who he couldn't get out of his head was sleeping in the same room as him, he didn't know if it was luck or not.

"I can read minds," she whispered, watching as his eyes widened, "and I know it's weird, and odd, and you probably think I'm a freak or something, but, I don't know, I just thought maybe you'd be one of the ones to actually understand, seeing as your Adria's brother and she was the first friend I've had, and have ever told, and also, um, hearing your thoughts, I uh, thought maybe you'd be okay with it."

"Okay with it?" he repeated after a moment, and Arden braced herself for the rejection, ready to jump up and out of his room, "of course I am, that's the coolest thing I have ever heard!" he whispered, his eyes wide as he stared at her with nothing but fascination.

"Really?!" she asked, her eyes wider than his as she looked at him.

"Of course," he nodded, "wait, wait, what am I thinking?!" he asked, trying to push aside his embarrassment that she had heard everything he thought about her.

"Why are you thinking about pears?" she giggled, clasping her hand over her mouth as she watched his eyes widen.

"Oh, my god," he whispered, "okay what am I thinking about now?!" he repeated, a grin on his lips as he watched her.

"Adria doesn't look like a gorilla, that's mean Benji!" Arden laughed softly, pushing his shoulder as he grinned widely.

"What am I thinking of now?" he asked, watching as the blush spread to her cheeks almost instantly as he thought clearly you are the most beautiful girl I have ever saw in all my life it was much simpler for him to think this - partly because he had been ever since he lay his eyes on her - but because it meant that there was no chance of him stuttering terribly over his words.

"Thank you," she whispered, her lip between her teeth unable to keep the smile shining through. Her head snapped up at his next thought, her eyes widening slightly as he looked at her intently, completely serious as the thought can I kiss you? travelled from his mind and over to hers.

She didn't speak a word, she was finding it very hard to think of the words to tell him how much she really wanted him to, so she simply nodded her head, watching with her heart speeding up drastically as he moved forward until he was so close to her, so close that his breath fanned her lips, so close that all she had to do was move a centimetre closer and their lips would connect.

But before she could move, he did, and his soft lips brushed hers ever so slightly, and she couldn't hear his thoughts anymore, it was as though she was unable to, but her thoughts ran wild in her head to the point that she was unable to think of anything other than his lips so perfectly on hers, and the feeling of his hand running through her hair whilst hers gripped onto his hand.

She moved forward, only the slightest bit forward, and soon did his lips become hungry for hers, craving the taste of her lips on his to the point that his hand moved to the back of her neck, pulling her as close as she could be. she could barely breath but that didn't seem to stop her heart from hammering against her chest to the point where she was sure Benji would be able to hear it, but he couldn't say a word because his was the exact same.

And in that moment, god that perfect moment shared between two teenagers at three in the morning close to Christmas, Benjamin Hopkins hadn't realised that he had never truly been home before until she was there in his arms.

[A/N this was so completely unplanned AND NOT MEANT TO HAPPEN but I literally do not care because I highkey ship Benji and Arden like oh my GOD!
