Chapter 74

Adria sat one morning, atop of the bar stool at the kitchen counter in front of her, a water bottle was clutched in her hand from the warm weather shining in from the window, and she quietly recited the incantation that her and the other boys had to recite every day to become and animagus. She was getting used to the habit of doing it, thankfully, seeing as she had many days since her and Sirius placed the leaf in their mouths when at least on of them had forgotten about it.

"Why are you so smiley?!" Adria giggled, looking up from the counter to watch her brother saunter through the archway.

"I'm not!" Laughed Alfie, shrugging his shoulders whilst he leaned against the island in the middle of the kitchen across from where Adria sat. her legs swung from the chair that was a little elevated in height than a usual chair.

"Oh yes, of course not," Adria scoffed, rolling her eyes at her oldest brother, "I may be going out on a limb here, but may it have something to do with the girl I saw you kissing on the beach?" she smirked, suggestively wiggling her eyebrows teasingly, and her smile couldn't help but widen when she saw him blush.

"Maybe," he mumbled, shrugging his shoulders before he grabbed his own bottle of water, "no one else saw us, right?"

"Nope," she shook her head, "but Sirius knows because I told him-"

"What why?!"

"Because I tell him everything?" she scoffed as though it was obvious, rolling her eyes as she continued, "also, Benji knows too, so does Alina and we told Lia too because she wasn't there when Alina found out and we felt bad that she was out of the loop so obviously, we had to tell her!"

"Wait, no," Alfie shook his head, "how did Benji find out, or Alina?"

"Because they were there when I told Sirius," Adria, once again scoffed as though it was obvious, "honestly, Alf, keep up!"

"So, the only two in this household that don't know are mum and dad?" Alfie asked, shaking his head with a frown that felt rather rare on his lips.

"We don't know what?" asked Judy as she squeezed through the door, Adria didn't think it was possible in a week for her mother to get any bigger, but it seemed that Judy was full of surprises.

"That Alfie's in love!" Adria gasped dramatically, her hand on her forehead as she fell into her older brother who merely rolled his eyes.

"I'm not in love," Alfie sighed, "I'm-"

"Damn near it," Adria but in, a wide grin on her lips when she saw the amused ones adorned on her parents.

"Adria, as much as I love you, how can Sirius possibly put up with you?" Alfie teased, "you're such a hopeless romantic."

"Which makes her all the more lovable," Sirius piped in as he walked through the kitchen door, walking straight to Adria and pressing a kiss to her cheek with a cheeky grin adorned on his lips.

"He puts up with her because he's the exact same," Judy smirked, winking at the two who couldn't help the blushes on their cheeks.

"No one puts up with anyone, just love, that's all anyone needs, is a little love," Douglas grinned, "whether you love another person, or a hobby, or a job, love is a cure!"

"Love could potentially be the meaning of life," Adria shrugged, moving to take a bite of the toast that Sirius had previously put in the toaster before leaving. He frowned at her, looking between the bite from his toast and the smile she was now giving him, and he couldn't help but return it.

"Hmm, no," Alfie spoke from his place at the counter, "the meaning of life hasn't really been discovered yet but surely they aren't going to turn around and say love!"

"I hope this girl that you kissed can teach you how to be less of a grump," Adria shook her head, patting his head before grabbing Sirius hand and quickly kissing her mother's cheek as she passed.

"I'm a realist, Ads!" Alfie called, shaking his head with a small laugh.

"A grump!" she shouted as she headed up the stairs, pulling Sirius along up the two floors and entering Alina's room where her and Lia still slept in bed.

"Are you kidding me," Adria exclaimed, turning to glare at a laughing Sirius. As much as she is usually the one to sleep in, she wouldn't really mind if Alina and Lia done the same, if it wasn't for her already entering her room to get them up, in which she thought she had succeeded.

Adria quickly left the room for a few moments, only to return with two most stuffed pillows that usually sat on her bed. She grinned as she handed one to Sirius, going to the side of the bed where Alina lay, she gestured for Sirius to move to the other side and on her command, the two of them whacked the girls until they woke up.

"Get up, get up, get up!" Adria exclaimed, jumping onto the bed with a thud and a grin, "we are going out soon and we will leave with you two still in your pyjamas."

"Can't you just go without us?" Alina groaned, grabbing the pillow from Adria's grip and placing it over her head.

"Don't you wanna spend some time with your favourite sister?" Adria gasped, clutching her heart whilst Sirius couldn't help but laugh.

"I love you, my dear favourite and only sister," Alina sighed, sitting up in her bed, "but Lia and I didn't get to sleep until like four because of a stupid-"

"It wasn't stupid!" Lia squeaked from under the covers which she had engulfed herself in.

"It was very stupid!" Alina exclaimed, "anyway, look, Ads, why don't you and Sirius make it a nice little date today, and me and Lia could sleep?"

Adria turned to Sirius, a look on her features that showed she was thinking about it and when he nodded, showing that he was completely okay with the idea, did Adria nod too, "I suppose that actually sounds good," she nodded, "you can now go back to sleep."

"Thank you!" Alina exclaimed, falling back onto her pillow whilst Adria stood up.

"Guess we are going on a date," Sirius laughed, slipping his hand into Adria's who nodded with a laugh of her own.

"Where is the girls?" asked Judy when Adria and Sirius descended the stairs for the second time.

"Bed," Sirius laughed, "so now it's just me and Ads."

"Oh, a date!" Judy squealed, clapping her hands together excitedly, "I wish I was going on a date."

"I'm sure when you aren't pregnant anymore, dad will take you on a date," Adria grinned widely, reaching up to kiss her cheek over her very large and very round stomach.

"I'll have to discuss that with him," Judy nodded, laughing as she reached for the door, "you two have fun!"

Adria picked up her bag which she had left at the door, grabbing her keys from the handle and a light rain coat which she wrapped around her waist before leaving out the door with Sirius in tow.

"We will," they both called, waving as they walked down the driveway.

"Should we walk into the city?" asked Sirius, looking up at the blue sky shining over them, and feeling the heat all over his body.

"Sounds good," Adria nodded, tightening her grip on his hand absentmindedly, the small summer breeze ran through her hair, "we should also get ice cream, but it might taste like the ice cream at the beach where the mandrake leaf just got in the way."

"True that was terrible, and also I wish it was Honeydukes," Sirius sighed, frowning as did Adria.

"Or the one in Diagon Alley-"

"Oh yes, Florean Fortescue's ice cream parlour!" Sirius beamed, earning a laugh from Adria whilst she nodded her head.

"I miss them," Adria sighed, not even having to say who in particular she was missing for Sirius to understand that it was her friends.

"Me too," Sirius sighed, letting go of her hand to wrap his arm around her shoulder, "we'll see them in August when you'll have a baby sibling that we will both love and you and the girls, and Remus, probably too can gush about how cute it is," Sirius teased, leaning down to kiss her cheek quickly as she rolled her eyes.

"Sirius, don't think I've forgotten the time you cried when you saw a kitten," Adria scoffed, turning to look up at him and laughing when she saw him glare.

"That's not fair, Adria Belle Hopkins, that kitten was tiny!"

-

"Adria?!" Sirius spoke rather loudly from the other side of the shop they had entered almost ten minutes ago, from the woman's sections where Adria was looking at a dress she was fond of, she turned around, pushing herself onto her tiptoes to look for Sirius.

She let a laugh fall from her lips when she saw the mop of curls on his head, and with a roll of her eyes she pushed herself forward, moving in between the racks of clothes to reach him, her eyes almost widened when she stumbled across him, clad in a leather jacket which he was trying on from the hanger and looking in the mirror as he done so.

She couldn't help but think he looked incredibly good looking with it on, and even though she thought he looked incredibly good looking at all points of the day, he somehow managed to top that with just an article of clothing.

"Do you think I could rock a jacket like this?" Sirius asked, a small laugh falling from his lips as he turned to face her.

"Hmmm," she giggled, moving herself forward she clasped her hands around the front of the jacket, using it to pull him forward and capturing his lips in a kiss, "I really think you could rock a jacket like that."

"Do you really?" he grinned, his eyes crinkling with delight, "I mean, I'm totally punk rock, right?"

She giggled, clasping her hand over her mouth at the thought of Sirius Black, the boy in front of her who wouldn't even kill a fly being punk rock, but with a breath of air she nodded her head, biting her lip as she done so, "you are seriously punk rock."

She turned to look away, unable to hide the smile on her lips at how completely adorable he was, she had to admit that his style of clothing could maybe pass as punk rock, but he definitely couldn't, but that was merely her opinion, which may not be the most reliable seeing as whatever he wore she would still think he was just adorable.

"What are you doing?" Adria frowned as she turned around, watching as Sirius put the leather jacket back onto the hanger and placing it with the other similar jackets on the rack.

"Well I can't buy it," he laughed, "I was only just looking, do you have anything you want to buy?" she shook her head, suddenly feeling sadness engulf her as she walked out of the shop. He was excited about that jacket, the way he couldn't help but grin as he wore it, and not to mention it would be a pleasant sight for her to see him in that jacket, she couldn't help but frown.

"You know what," she suddenly spoke as they exited the shop, standing on the pavement just outside, "I actually saw a dress I really liked, I just want to see if they have my size!"

"Okay let's go," he laughed, just about to pull her back into the shop when she stopped him.

"I can do it," she grinned, "it's too warm in there Sirius, get some fresh air, I'll be out in just a moment!"

She quickly kissed his cheek reassuringly, opening the door again and making sure he wasn't looking in the window when she passed right by the dress she actually did like - but not all that much - and straight to the leather jacket that Sirius was previously wearing. Even if she didn't like him in it, she couldn't help but think of how happy he was wearing it, and he deserved a gift sometimes, seeing as he was a gift himself in her eyes.

She grabbed the one at the front, seeing as that was where he had placed the one he had previously put down, and hoping it was the same one, she made her way to the counter, "this is men's jacket, you know?" the girl behind the counter laughed, a kind smile on her lips as she casually tried to let Adria know.

"Oh yes, I know," Adria nodded, laughing softly, "it's not for me." The girl nodded understandably, placing the jacket folded in a bag with the stores brand on it, and after Adria had handed her the muggle money for the jacket, she quickly exited the store.

"You bought the dress?" asked Sirius, looking at the bag gripped in her hand, attempting to take it from her so she didn't need to carry it, but she merely shook her head.

"Actually, I got something else, but I want to go to the park, so I'll show you there," she giggled, grabbing his hand and keeping hold of the bag, and with the busy crowd of the streets hustling around on their day, both Adria and Sirius almost knocked over three people as they dodged through the crowd, of course, Adria had said sorry countless times to the people, even when they could barely hear them.

"So, I take it you got something exciting?" Sirius laughed, sitting on the bench on her command.

"Well yes, I mean, I would model it for you," Adria trailed off, her grin widening as she pulled out the jacket, "but I think it would look better on you."

"You didn't!" Sirius gasped, wide eyed as he pushed himself up suddenly, "Adria, you didn't need to do that," he whispered, shaking his head furiously as she held the jacket, helping him put it on.

"No, but I wanted too," Adria sighed, grabbing the bag from the ground and moving over to the bench, "look, Sirius, I've grown up in a household where I get what I want if I want it, and whilst I wouldn't say I was completely spoiled, I know that I'm privileged, and you aren't so privileged when it comes to family, or gifts or anything of the sort but you were so happy when you saw that jacket, so happy and so excited and not to mention you look so good in it-" he smirked wider, cutting her off as she stopped to stare at him.

"You can continue," Sirius mumbled, moving forward to press a slow, lingering kiss to her lips.

"Y-yes, anyway," she giggled, her heart racing and her cheeks heating up like they always seemed to do, but all the while she reached for his hand, lacing their fingers together as she done so, "I have plenty of clothes, and shoes, and dresses that I really don't need, and I can buy it if I want it because I have parents willing to get me it, but you should be able to buy a leather jacket if you like it, and when you put it down because you couldn't, it made me sad, I was really sad because I've grown up knowing that I could've easily bought that, and it made me realise that not many people have that kind of privilege, I wanted to do something for you, not just because I could but because you deserve it so much, and you deserve a world filled with gifts!"

"Adria," Sirius sighed, "thank you, thank you so much, not only do I love it because of what It looks like, but it'll now remind me of you which is a greater gift than anything, you are a greater gift than anything. I don't need a billion presents, and you don't need to show me that you love me through presents, because I am privileged, I'm so privileged to have you, that's the biggest privilege in my world is that I get to walk through life with you by my side, and that is a privilege unlike any gift from a shop or an object."

"Sirius Black, I am so completely and utterly in love with you," she whispered after a few moments of staring at him, and whilst it took him a few seconds of shock to realise that even though they loved each other, she was in love with him. She was his, and only his and he would only be hers and it was true love that none of them had ever felt before but every second of the day when Adria thinks of Sirius, she can't help but feel her heart race, her palms sweat and the blush rise to her cheeks when a specific memory of him pops into her mind.

She was completely and utterly in love with him, and although she was young, and although they had the rest of their lives to be together, she didn't know whether it was completely terrifying or relieving that she had found love so early, but she didn't care because she had Sirius to figure it out with.

she wouldn't know what to do without him, he sneaked into her life at the most randomness, and the most cliché way possible, when she bumped into him outside of transfigurations, she was sure that things like that don't happen randomly. She was a strong believer in soul mates, and whilst she was a complete hopeless romantic - which she just couldn't help - she thought certainly that Sirius Black was her soulmate, and she really didn't care what anyone else thought of that.

"I am completely and utterly in love with you too," he whispered, the jacket now back in the bag and his arms wrapped tightly around her waist. She threw her arms around his neck, tightening the grip on their embrace. She couldn't think of a world without Sirius Black, a world she wouldn't want to live in, and although she had never been in love before, and although Sirius was her first boyfriend, first kiss, first love, she could only hope that Sirius Black would be her only boyfriend, only kiss and only love because she didn't think it was possible to love anyone else the way she loved Sirius Black.

And he felt the entirely same way with Adria Hopkins, he was so infatuated, so blinded by love for her, they hadn't been going out for a long, long time but their love was different, they were best friends, they had a strong connection already before they even confessed that they liked each other, and they confessed their attraction with a kiss, an intimate gesture that neither could get out of their heads, and every time Sirius Black kissed her, Adria felt like it was the first time all over again.

To Adria Hopkins, in her world, in her life, her meaning of life was love. She loved her friends, she loved her family, her life, she loved Hogwarts and she even loved her classes, and she loved Sirius Black, with all of her heart.
