Chapter 20

"Sirius," Adria whispered through the quiet, she sat cross legged on the other side of the sofa bed, her excitement getting the best of her as her shaking of Sirius became rougher, "Sirius!"

"Wha-" he groaned, rolling over slightly to see the girl towering over him, "what is it, Adria?" he whispered hoarsely, rubbing his eyes and letting a yawn escape his lips.

"It's Christmas!" she exclaimed, jumping up and over to her bed where she pulled on her slippers, it was still pitch black outside and Sirius almost groaned when he read the clock next to Adria's bed which said four am.

"Do you get up at this time every year?" Sirius asked as he sat up, running a hand through his messy hair that fell in front of his face.

"Of course I do!" Adria nodded, grabbing the house coat that hooked to the back of her door and wrapping it around herself to shield her bare legs from the cold, "The sooner I get up the sooner I get presents, now come on!" she grinned, pulling Sirius arm so he would follow her.

"It's bloody freezing, Adria," Sirius groaned, feeling the cold of Adria's room sweep through him, Adria rushed to her bed quickly and pulled the fuzzy blanket off of It before throwing it over Sirius' shoulders, "okay, let's go!"

Instead of entering Alfie's room just next to hers like she would usually do, she instead banged loudly on his door before rushing into Benji's room whilst Sirius stood at the door frame, "Benji wake up!" she shouted, throwing herself onto his bed, ultimately waking him up.

"What did I tell you about waking me up so early?" Benji groaned, rubbing his eyes as he let out a yawn.

"It's Christmas!" she shrieked, rushing past Sirius and next door to Alina's room, "Alina, it's Christmas, wake up!" Sirius heard loudly from the hallway.

"I heard it was Christmas?" Sirius heard behind him, turning to see Alfie walking tiredly out of his room.

"As far as I know," Sirius joked, still not overly fond of the sixteen-year-old, seeing as he called him a freak, technically.

"I'm so tired," Alina moaned as she stumbled out of her room, Adria had taken it upon herself to barge into her parent's room, whilst her siblings waited in the hall.

"She does this every year?" Sirius asked Benji who leaned against the other side of the door frame, rubbing his eyes and yawning occasionally.

"Every. Single. Year." He huffed, "she's bloody obsessed with Christmas."

"C'mon dad!" Adria huffed, pulling on Douglas' hand as she entered the hallway, she was pulling him with as much force as she could, whilst Judy trailed behind them with her eyes drooping.

"Every year we tell her not to get us up early," Benji muttered, "but every year she doesn't listen." Sirius chuckled, he had brightened up drastically and it was highly amusing seeing Adria's family so opposed to her Christmas obsession.

"Come on!" Adria said, gesturing for Sirius to follow her, and sprinted down the stairs when Sirius moved to follow.

"She wonders why she had no friends," Alfie scoffed whilst Sirius frowned.

"I actually think it's funny," Sirius said to him before walking down the stairs, followed by a smirking Benji.

Sirius was in shock when he entered the living room of Adria's home, Adria was sitting on the floor wide eyed at the large amounts of presents littering the living room, and Alina went to join her with a squeal. The Christmas tree that sat at the window was basically non-existent with the large amount of presents blocking half of it, raging from different sizes and colours of wrapping paper.

"Sirius!" Adria grinned, gesturing for him to sit with her, which he did, resulting in Adria stealing the blanket that covered him and placing it over the both of them.

"Adria are you going to open your presents first?" Douglas laughed, sitting on an empty space on the couch next to his wife.

Adria grinned and with a shake of her head she said, "No, I think Sirius should open presents first." Knowing that her parents took it upon themselves to get Sirius gifts as though he was part of the family when Adria told them of his family, of course, in secret.

"What?" Sirius asked, wide eyed as he looked to Adria who was grinning, "I have presents?" he asked her quietly, wondering if it was a joke but when she pushed herself up and over to the colourful boxes, examining them closely before grabbing more than a couple in her hand and placing them in front of Sirius.

"You do," she nodded, watching as he looked at the disbelief.

"You never had presents before?" Alfie scoffed as he lay on the couch, resulting in a scowl on Adria's lips, which was extremely rare, especially on Christmas.

"No," Sirius muttered, "never." Alfie straightened up on the couch he sat on, his eyebrow raised as he shared a look with Benji who was glaring at him. Benji was wondering why Alfie was acting this way, seeing as he wasn't like this before Adria arrived and hoped it hadn't anything to do with Abigail.

"Well open them!" Adria giggled, picking one of the boxes up and placing it in Sirius hand. she watched him rip the paper of the present open, a wide smile on his face as he examined the small box.

He opened the box to reveal a watch, it was silver with a brown leather strap, and it looked extremely expensive, "I don't know what to say," he laughed in disbelief as he lifted it out of the box, "thank you," he whispered looking up at Adria's parents who were grinning at him.

Adria took it from his grip, before reaching for his wrist and clasping it around it, "look it fits perfectly!" she grinned, picking up another present and handing it to him.

He received a large stash of chocolates and sweets that he had never heard of before, until Adria told him it was muggle sweets, her favourite muggle sweets. They got him a winters coat, seeing as he didn't bring one with him, and a notebook and pen which confused him until Adria explained to him that it was the muggle alternative to parchment and a quill.

"Do you like your presents?" Adria asked with a laugh, seeing the look of disbelief still on his face as he looked over the presents he had, he had never gotten presents before and he loved all of them.

"I love them," he whispered, a wide smile on his face which made Adria's heart break when she realised he had never got anything before.

"Your turn, Adria?" Douglas asked, standing from his seat and grabbing tons of the presents, he placed them in front of Adria who was grinning from ear to ear.

"I recommend opening this one first," Douglas winked, pointing at one until her mother protested.

"No, I recommend keeping that one till last." She grinned, Adria pondered on the present for a moment, looking at the colourful wrapping paper before choosing a box.

The box held a notebook which was locked with a padlock, her parents said it could be for when she ran out of space for her poems in her notebook. She hadn't written in her notebook in a while and made a note in her mind to do that when she opened up another present.

"Shoes!" she grinned, opening the box to see a pair of bright white trainers that she instantly fell in love with, "I love them!" she squealed, pulling them out of the box. She mostly wore boots, and loved that she finally had a change.

She opened up most of the others which held more dresses for her to wear during weekends at Hogwarts, more pens that she could use in hopes that she could replace the quills that she wasn't too fond of, and a stash of sweets just like the one that Sirius received as well as a dark red coat, that she absolutely loves.

"It's like Gryffindor!" Sirius commented when she lifted the coat to see it, it was long and cotton and detailed with little black buttons that closed the coat over as well as the pockets.

"I know!" she grinned, turning to look at him, "I love it!"

"You have one more present, Addy," Douglas said, gesturing to the present that Adria picked up, she was curious as to what it is seeing as her parents where rather excited for her.

"I know, I know," she giggled, ripping the wrapping paper open. She gasped before letting out a squeal, jumping to her feet and throwing herself at her parents in excitement, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

"What is a...polaroid?" asked Sirius, reading the box, completely confused about Adria's excitement.

"It's a camera!" she squealed, looking at the disbelief on her siblings faces as she tore open the rest of the wrapping paper. She tried her best to open the box but her hands shook so much in excitement that Sirius took it from her grip and opened it for her.

"Here," Sirius chuckled, handing her the device that was completely foreign to him. She fumbled with it, whilst her parents told her about the film it needed and that they had already bought her some, whilst she examined it.

"Sirius, smile!" she grinned, watching Sirius turn to her confused but smiling anyway, she watched wide eyed as the small polaroid picture printed out of it, her eyes wide with fascination as the exact view of Sirius smiling widely at the camera appeared on the small frame.

"Look!" she squealed, "I took that!"

"It's not moving," Sirius whispered as he looked at the picture of himself.

"It's a muggle camera, Sirius," Adria giggled, "It doesn't move!"

"It's cool," he whispered, reaching over and taking the picture of himself from Adria's hand, "I like it."

"I'm glad you approve," Adria chuckled.

She spent the rest of her morning taking pictures of her sibling's reactions as they opened their presents, laughing with Sirius at their shocked expressions. She wished that she had gotten her camera before Sirius opened his presents, seeing as his reactions would've been the best out of everyone.

"Did you like your presents?" Adria asked, her head leaning on Sirius shoulder as he looked over everything he had gotten, seeing as the initial excitement of opening presents, and watching everyone receive their presents was over, Adria's eyes were starting to droop from sleepiness.

"I do," Sirius muttered, a small grin on his lips as he picked up a 'highland toffee' from the pile of sweets, "what is this?"

"It's highland toffee, it sticks in your teeth and everything but it's great," Adria grinned, allowing a yawn to escape her lips as she clutched her camera which she hadn't let go.

"So you're tired now?" Sirius laughed, attempting to look at her which was rather difficult as her head rested on his shoulder.

"Nope, course not," Adria chuckled, blinking a couple of times before sitting up.

"You didn't need to move," Sirius muttered as he picked up the winters coat that Judy and Douglas got him, "your parents really didn't need to get me all of this," he sighed, feeling rather guilty that they spent their own money on him.

"They wanted to, Sirius," Adria sighed, "and I'm glad they did because you deserve it, even if your pranks are terrible."

"They are not!" Sirius exclaimed, attracting Benji's attention who looked over from the new presents he had gotten.

"They so are!" Adria scoffed, "my pranks are so much better."

"They're amateurish," Sirius smirked, earning a push from Adria whilst he laughed.

"They are not, I am the prank war reigning champion!" she gasped, earning a glare from Benji that she was unaware of.

"I would be, if I was a part of it." Sirius shrugged, a smirk on his lips.

"Is that a challenge, Black?" she asked with her eyebrow raised, "because I'm sure Benji would love another member on his team to try and take me out, remember that It's muggle pranks." She gestured to Benji, who was still sporting the hot pink hair, and was dead set on pranking Sirius in the exact same way.

"Fine," he said, she stuck out her hand which he shook before calling on Benji.

"Would you like a team member to help you beat me?" Adria asked with a grin, pointing at Sirius, "I'll admit he's rather good at wizard pranks but they're"

"Cruel and humiliating and I don't condone them!" Sirius finished in a high-pitched voice, attempting to mimic Adria who glared at him.

Benji laughed loudly as he nodded his head, "I'm sure help would be fun, do you need someone Adria, two against one is tricky?"

"Two against one is tricky," Adria nodded, smirking as she said "but me against you two Is a walk in the park."
