Chapter 19

"Can you believe her!" Adria shrieked as she paced her room Christmas Eve, Sirius sat on the sofa bed with multiple letters addressed to both him and Adria from their friends, neither of them knew how their friends knew that Sirius was with them, but she had a feeling Lily Evans was to blame.

"Y'know, I don't know if you're madder at Alfie or Abigail." Sirius commented, sorting the mail for Adria into one pile, and his into another. He noted that she had a considerable amount of letters more than him, and wondered when she passed him on the popularity scale.

"I'm mad at them both!" Adria huffed, "but ive never liked Abigail so that fuels my rage for her." She sighed as she fell back onto her bed, she and Sirius where just back from a walk and Abigail was making sure to rub it in that Adria and Alfie had fallen out when she arrived back.

"Can't you just kick her out?" asked Sirius, scanning over the letter from Peter that he had gotten, "This is your house, and I'm almost positive that your family would be on your side."

"Yeah, except from Alfie." Adria grumbled, "If me and Abigail where in a burning building and he could save just one of us, I am almost certain that he'd save her!"

"Well he's in love, what do you expect?" Sirius laughed, "he's not in his right mind."

"But I'm his sister!" Adria groaned, walking over to Sirius to grab her pile of letters. She fell onto the bed beside him, a small smile breaking through her anger at the large amount of letters from all of her friends, she even had one from James.

"Also, when did you pass me on the popularity scale?" Sirius asked, leaving Adria completely confused, "I have three letters, you have eight."

"Trust me Sirius, you just have less close friends, but you are definitely much more popular." Adria scoffed as she rolled her eyes, "I can't believe he called us freaks."

"Well he said we went to a freak show school-"

"Which technically means he called us freaks!" Adria exclaimed, ripping open the letter from Lily, "also, at least you don't need to write back to eight people." Adria added, almost cringing at the pain her hand would be in.

"Very true." He muttered, "James wants to know when the wedding is." Sirius said as he read through said boy's letter.

"What?" Adria asked, leaning over Sirius' shoulder to read over the letter.

So, surprisingly, I was talking to Evans the day we left, and she told me that you were staying with Adria, a bit unexpected mate. Well anyway, since you two are already living together, I'm expecting a wedding invitation anytime soon, I'll make sure to keep a lookout for the. A wedding is a bit of a step up from adorable (your words not mine) but I'm sure it'll be any day now

"What does he mean by your words not mine?" Adria asked, "next to adorable." She pointed her finger at the line, completely unaware of the unwanted redness filling up Sirius' cheeks.

"James being a bloody idiot, is all." Sirius chuckled, putting his letter in a pile atop of Peters, "what did Lily say?"

Dear Adria,

How's Christmas with Sirius? Well I hope it's better than mines with Petunia because I'm on the verge of committing a murder. Not only does she talk nonstop of her 'completely normal' school, but it seems as though our entire relationship as sisters has gone completely out of the window. The only thing keeping me sane is Severus, thank god he lives near me.

"Severus isn't even sane himself." Sirius muttered as he leaned his head on Adria's shoulder to read the letter.

"Don't think Lily would be too pleased if I added that into her letter," Adria scoffed, folding It back into the envelope and picking up James' letter.

"He wrote to you?" asked Sirius, noticing James name on the front of the letter.

"Looks like it," Adria chuckled, ripping it open and unfolding the letter.

Dear Mrs Black, sorry, Adria.

"Very funny, Potter." Adria muttered, rolling her eyes.

As far as I'm concerned, we're friends so I thought why not write to you too, seeing as I have nothing better to do. Anyway, if Sirius doesn't make me best man, tell him I'm disowning him. I'm sure Evans or someone will be your bridesmaid, so make sure my tie matches her dress and I'm cool.

"You're right," Adria spoke, "James is a bloody idiot." She chuckled as she set his letter back into the envelope and put it with Lily's. It took her about twenty minutes to read through Mary, Marlene and Dorcas' letters as well as Peters until she finally stopped at Remus'.

Dear Adria,

I'm sure you've been getting plenty of letters addressing the fact that Sirius is with you for the holidays, and yes, Lily told me.

I hope you're having a great Christmas and I'll see you after break, unless I'll be seeing you soon with a wedding invitation, would you keep Hopkins or would you change to Mrs Black?

"He's just as bad as the rest!" Adria exclaimed, scanning over the rest of the letter before putting it with the pile of letters she had already read.

"I think we're a bit too young to get married, anyway." Sirius scoffed as he eyed the last two letters that Adria had yet to read. He watched her pick up one, scan the writing until a grin broke out onto her face as she rushed to open it.

Dear Adria,

I hope this is the right address, or this would be pretty awkward. Let's just say it is, I hope you're having a great Christmas, and the train ride with you and Finn was probably my favourite train ride on the Hogwart's express. I didn't know a Gryffindor could be cool, but you managed to prove me wrong.

Finn wont bloody shut up about you, but don't tell him I told you that, he'd kill me and I'd like to live for next year.

Anyway, I can't wait to see you back at Hogwarts, and hope you'll come find me at the platform if it's not too much trouble? Another fun train ride back to Hogwarts is what I need, I think.

Love, Milo

"Who's that from?" Sirius asked, eyeing the letter curiously and trying to ignore the full blown grin on Adria's lips as she read it quickly. She jumped at the sound of Sirius' voice, and quickly put the letter back into the envelope.

"Oh, Milo." She smiled, "the Ravenclaw."

"Y'know, I don't recognise the name." Sirius shrugged, sitting his letters on the small TV cabnet near his bed, before turning back to Adria to watch her read the other letter.

Dear Gryffinpuff, or Adria

I'm sure you're not mean enough to give out a fake address, so hello!

I must admit that it's much easier for me to write than it is to speak, as I tend to stumble over my own words, so I haven't scared you away with my intense awkwardness, then I hope we are still friends.

There are a lot of things we still have to talk about, like our shared knowledge of Disney films. Milo isn't so keen on Disney films, which is rather surprising because it's all I go on about, I mean, how can one not love Bambi?

Well, anyway, I hope you're having a really good Christmas, and if you aren't then I hope you're looking forward to Hogwart's. Hopefully I'll see you on the train my fellow shy friend, and if I don't, surely I'll see you at Hogwart's at some point, seeing as we're in the same Herbology class.

Anyway, it was nice seeing you Adria,

Love, Finn.

"The Hufflepuff?" Sirius asked as he eyed the letter, watching her fold it up and place it back into the envelope.

"Yeah, Finn," Adria grinned, sorting all of her letters and placing them next to Sirius'.

"Well at least they've cheered you up," Sirius muttered, watching Adria lie back on the bed and following her lead so they were both looking up at the ceiling.

"They did," she muttered, "it was rather funny that all three of the boys had the same idea that we were going to get married."

"Great minds think alike," Sirius commented, earning a scoff from the girl.

"Or stupid minds," she muttered, laughing when Sirius pushed her lightly, "do you think I was too harsh on Abigail?" she asked quietly, watching Sirius from the corner of her eye when he turned on his side.

"No," he whispered, shaking his head, "I'm just a guest, but so is she, right? That's like me saying we couldn't do the gingerbread competition, and why would I do that?"

"You're right," Adria muttered, "but you're actually a nice person, and Abigail's not. I don't see what Alfie sees in her." She sighed.

"She's pretty," Sirius commented, earning a look from Adria, "let me finish. She's pretty, but that's all she is, she's mean and a little bit annoying and I've only known her for a few days."

"So you think he's only with her because of her appearance?" asked Adria, her eyebrow raised at the thought, "that's the worst thing I've heard, that'd be the most boring relationship I'd ever know of!"

"But he's a guy, Adria," Sirius laughed, "we're idiots."

"So you're telling me that you'd go out with a girl just because she's pretty?" Adria asked.

"Well I wouldn't go out with anyone right now, I have better things to do with my time," Sirius scoffed, "but yeah."

"That's so weird." Adria muttered, shaking her head, "bloody stupid, if you ask me."

"You're a girl," Sirius said, "you want someone to sweep you off your feet, and be your prince!"

"No," she laughed, "I want someone that can make me bloody laugh so I'm not bored all of the time, who bloody cares what he looks like, not everything's about appearance. If they're a mean person, then they're ugly to me, if they're a nice person, then they're automatically beautiful."

"Fine, you have a point." Sirius said after a few moments of silence.

"Of course I do, it's common sense!" she exclaimed, "I'm going to ask Benji," she huffed as she pushed herself up.

"Fine, he'll say the same thing though," Sirius said as he pushed himself up and after her.

"Benji!" Adria called, rolling her eyes when he didn't reply. She pushed open the door to Alina's room, seeing the girl cross legged on the floor with a book against her knees, resembling Adria accurately.

"Oh hey Adria, how did you get here so fast." Sirius joked, earning an elbow to the stomach.

"Alina, have you seen Benji?" Adria asked, watching the smaller girl look up from her book and place her reading glasses next to her.

"Ben's downstairs with Mum." Alina said, picking up her glasses once more and putting them back on her face.

"Why didn't you just keep them on?" Adria asked, shaking her head as she closed the room door over, "looks like Benji's downstairs."

"So Alina call's Benji, Ben?" Sirius asked as they decended the stairs.

"Yeah, when she was younger she found it hard to say Benji so she just said Ben and it stuck." Adria shrugged, pushing the door open to the living room.

"Benji!" Adria grinned, seeing him walk into the kitchen and followed him, whilst completely ignoring Alfie who tried to speak to her.

"What's up buttercup?" Benji asked, jumping on top of the kitchen counter where his legs dangled. Judy gave him a look of disapproval, and then rolled her eyes when Adria done the same thing.

Adria pulled Sirius over gently to stand in front of her, them proceeded to lean her arms atop of his head, "Benji, would you ever go out with a girl because she's pretty?"

"Of course I would!" Benji scoffed as though it was obvious.

"But what about personality?!" Adria exclaimed, "otherwise it would be completely boring!"

"Well, Adria, I know you're so much younger than me and so, so innocent, but when you go out with someone, you're not really worrying about their personality, just if they're good at the phy-"

"That's enough of that!" Judy butted in, throwing her son a look who was grinning cheekily at Adria who in turn was looking at him disgustedly, "you two are a bit too young to be dating anyone." Judy said as she cleaned around the kitchen, "you too, Sirius."

"What are the girls like at Hogwarts, Sirius? You fancy any of them?" Benji asked, completely ignoring his mother who just rolled her eyes.

"Sirius has better things to do with his time than fancy girls," Adria smirked, "he told me."

"No," Sirius said, "I told you I had better things to do with my time right now than go out with someone."

"Oh really?" she said, moving her head so she could see his face, "then who do you fancy? Do I know them?"

"Very well actually," Sirius chuckled, "but you'll never know."
