Chapter 166

"We never hang out much together anymore," Adria sighed as she leaned on Peter, a book she wasn't reading resting on her knees as the two sat on the couch in the Gryffindor common room, Peter was almost falling asleep with lack of rest to the point that she forced him to put down the text book he was meaning to study and instead just relax with her, seeing as Sirius had forced her to put down her own book, and well, with the little rest that Peter had gotten he wasn't entirely complaining when Adria suggested that he take a rest.

"I know," Peter sighed, his head resting on Adria's as hers rested on his shoulder, "don't get me wrong, I love looking after Thea, and I will for the rest of my life, but merlin Pregnant woman are tiring."

"Don't let her hear you say that," Adria giggled, shaking her head ever so slightly whilst she felt Peter nod against her, scoffing as he done so.

"Oh I know," he chuckled, running a tired hand through his hair, "merlin she's gorgeous, isn't she?"

"She is," Adria agreed, smiling at the love Peter had for the girl, "she makes pregnancy seem so easy, if she hadn't told me about the morning sickness, or the backache or anything else, I would've thought it was a walk in the park!"

"She doesn't like to complain, but I told her to, she's carrying my child, so I'm going to help her as much as I can, she was studying for newts but I made her take a break, I made sure she was sleeping before I left the dormitory, I don't want her having no rest, neither her or the baby needs that!" Peter sighed, shaking his head.

"What happens if the baby is born early, or born before we finished?" asked Adria, finally turning to face her best friend who was so terribly tired that she wished she could help, he had bags under his eyes, hair messier than usual, his smile was very evidently forced but he barely complained, he never really did, he was quiet when someone asked him, asked if he was tired, or coping, he would answer with a nod and a smile, but she could see right through it, merlin she was his best friend.

"Dumbledore is allowing her to return for newts, says that we shouldn't really be getting taught anymore than what we already know but he's willing to give her specific textsbooks that will help with her exams, we're just hoping it wont come to that," he shrugged, "she'd handle it, though, merlin it's Thea, she could do anything she wanted."

"She's going to be a great mother," Adria smiled softly, reaching for Peter's hand and squeezing it, "and you're going to be a great father."

"Don't know about that," he tutted, a strike of sadness finding his eyes, soon looking away from the girl he could easily call his sister, "Thea's already a mother, y'know, she looks after people, she cares for people, she'll be brilliant at it, but me, no, I'll be the one to drop the poor thing, to forget to change it, to-"

"You have absoloutely no confidence in yourself Peter Pettigrew, and I don't know why!" Adria exclaimed, shaking her head, "you are going to be an excellent father, you are already an excellent friend, an excellent boyfriend, an excellent student, an excellent marauder, and I have no doubts in my life that you will be an excellent parent too.

You don't see what I do, what the boys do, or what anyone does, you do so much for Thea, merlin you levitated a chair for her to get to class, you make sure she's sleeping as much as she should, that she can still study, and that she doesn't hurt as much as she could, you help her get downstairs, you pick out the foods that you know won't make her sick, and the ones you know she craves, you've studied everything there is to know.

You have read how many? Four books on parenthood, and don't think I don't know that because Thea told me, and it's not surprising, you are going to be a bloody brilliant father, and your child is going to be the most badass, stealthiest, hottest, funniest, coolest child that this world has ever seen, and I am so bloody proud of you Peter.

Because you know what? Not many seventeen year old boys can say proudly that they stuck by their girlfriends, not many seventeen year old boys can say that they stayed, and that they learned all they could, but you are better than every single one of those boys, and you stayed, and that is the right thing to do, and that shows you're going to be a great father, it shows that you are ready to be a father, merlin I don't think anyone is as ready as you!"

"You mean that?" he asked, trying to hide his emotions, he was so tired, so bloody tired and the fact that he had his best friend to reassure him was making him more emotional than usual, he knew that he could confide in Adria, that she would never ever judge him, or tease him for anything, and he needed that, he needed their friendship, merlin, he would go mad without it.

"Of course I mean that," Adria laughed softly, wrapping her arm around the boy, "you are my best friend, Peter, my brother, and I will never lie to you, and I don't need to anyway, you are the coolest little rat that I know."

"Somehow little rat doesn't seem like the best compliment," Peter scoffed, earning a laugh from Adria who merely shook her head.

"Rat's are very loyal animals, Pete, and your animagus defines you as a person, and merlin you are a very kind and loyal friend, and boyfriend, and brother," Adria grinned, ruffling his hair whilst another yawn escaped his lips, "how much sleep have you had, Wormy?"

"Enough," he mumbled, his head falling back onto her shoulder whilst a sigh left her lips.

"You sure about that? merlin Peter you do far too much!" she exclaimed, wide eyed, "you need to take some time, get some bloody sleep or you're going to just collapse!"

"I don't have time to sleep, I need to make sure Thea is alright, and I need to study, I'm just resting my eyes, I'll be fine," Peter mumbled, his eyes closed as Adria rolled hers.

"You will not be fine Peter Pettigrew, if Thea needs help then she has Blair and Remus who are in the dormitory too, and you should be up there too, sleeping like you bloody need to. Tell me truthfully, has Thea asked you to stop helping her?" asked Adria.

"No," Peter trailed off, seeing Adria's glare narrowing and soon did his shoulder slump, "alright maybe, she said that I don't have to wait on her hand and foot but I want to, she is in a lot of pain and she is uncomfortable, not to mention how bad morning sickness is, I get about the same amount of sleep as she does, and it's so bad but I can cope knowing that my child will be brought into the world healthy!"

"Your kid will be healthy, but your health is important too, merlin, Pete!" Adria couldn't help but laugh in disbelief, "you need to sleep."

"Fine, I will," Peter grumbled, "but there is something I have to talk to you about first."

"Really?" asked Adria, her eyebrow raised, and soon did she sit up, reaching for the blanket hung over the side of the couch did she throw it over the two of them, even with the fire on she was somehow incredibly cold.

"Yes, it's important, really, and well I thought Thea might want to be here for it too but she said that because we are basically siblings that I should be the one to tell you, or maybe well, ask you," Peter rambled, watching Adria intently as she nodded along to what he had to say, "you see, the thing is, well, if it weren't for you, I don't think I'd have the courage to keep my relationship with Thea going all the way back in fourth year.

And I'm not saying that I didn't like her, but somehow you gave me confidence, you made me realise that I was good enough, and ever since then with you, and with Thea I've managed to gain more confidence in myself, you are my best friend, you are my sister and I love you so bloody much, and Thea does too.

And if you think of it, in a way, Thea and I wouldn't be together if it weren't for you, you showed me that she could actually like me for me, even though I didn't like myself, and you made her realise that I did like her, and that I was so incredibly shy.

So recently, Thea and I have been looking at names for the baby, and whilst we don't know the gender, we have been looking at names for girls and boys, and well, if it were a girl we had been playing over the name Evangeline, and we love that name, so we were thinking, if we were to have a girl, we'd like to name her Evangeline Adria, now only if you're alright with that, I mean, we don't want you to ha- Addy are you- oh merlin, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry!" Peter gasped.

She couldn't help but clasp her hand over her mouth, wide eyes filled with tears that streamed down her cheeks, she was shocked, surprised, but merlin so happy, ecstatic, her heart swelled with love and not soon after did she throw herself onto Peter in a tight hug, unable to stop her sobs as she clutched onto her brother.

"Are you serious?" she asked, finally pulling away, and soon wiping her tears.

"I believe that that's your boyfriend," Peter chuckled, earning a slap to the chest.

"You know what I mean!" she whispered, shaking her head as more tears spilled, "you really want to name your child Evangeline Adria, as in Adria me, me Adria, I am Adria, and you want to name your child after me?!"

"Yes!" Peter laughed softly, reaching for her hand and squeezing it, "merlin, Addy, you've been my best friend for bloody ages, and I love the boys so much, I do, but when they winded me up, you'd be the one there to reassure me that it was all just a joke, that I shouldn't listen to their words, and they are my brothers, and I love them so much, but you are my sister, and I love you so bloody much too, and Thea thinks it's a perfect idea, and so do I!"

"I love you so bloody much, too, Pete," she choked out, another sob tumbling from her lips that she couldn't seem to help, she loved Peter and Thea more than anything, and she knew she would love their little baby with all of her heart, but she was not expecting that in the slightest, not expecting Peter or Thea to even consider her name for their child.

She was still so shocked, and she was sure she always would be, "I forgot you were so bloody emotional," Peter joked, throwing his arm around her as she leaned closer to him, shaking her head as she wiped at her tears.

"I am a sensitive person, Peter Pettigrew, you should know this by now!" she exclaimed, feeling his head drop onto hers.

She was rather confused by the fact that he didn't answer her back, in fact the common room was basically silent as she awaited his answer but just a few minutes later was she able to hear the soft snores erupting from Peter's lips, indicating that he had finally fell asleep.
