Chapter 15
Adria sat with Milo and Finn for the full duration of the train ride, having so much fun with the two boys that she didn't even realised the train was near Kings Cross Station until they stopped at the platform. She felt terrible for not actually going to see the four boys during the train ride, and made sure to look for them as soon as she got off the train.
She had exchanged addresses with the two boys to send letters during the holidays, so they could keep in touch, she enjoyed their company a lot, even after one train ride she felt as though she had known them forever.
The platform was littered with parents when she stepped off, and immediately Finn and Milo said their good byes when they already saw their parents ahead. She couldn't see the boys, or girls anywhere as she stood alone, so instead she went down the platform to retrieve her trunk before she would look for her family.
She spotted her trunk in the midst of all the others and almost groaned when she realised she wouldn't be able to get it out without some help. She looked around, a frown on her lips until she saw a very familiar long haired boy near her, "Sirius!" she shouted, cupping her hand over her mouth to project her voice. He turned confused, until he saw her near her and looked at who Adria assumed was his family before rushing over to her.
"Can you help me?" she asked, a frown on her lips, "My trunk is stuck."
"Okay," He laughed, both of them reached to the trunk which was quite clearly Adria's, seeing as she had personalised it, gripping onto the handle which had barely enough space for their two hands, the both of them pulled as hard as they could until the trunk finally released itself from the pile and almost fell on top of the two.
"Don't move, and no one gets hurt!" a voice growled behind them, Adria and Sirius shared a look before Adria turned to come face to face with her brother Benji.
"You knew it was me?!" he exclaimed, completely distraught as he eyed Sirius for a split second, "who's this?"
"Of course, I knew it was you, Benji you do it every year!" Adria chuckled, "and this is my friend, Sirius."
"Nice to meet you Sirius," Benji grinned, sticking out his hand for Sirius to shake, "I'm obviously the better-looking twin, but it's okay, you don't need to tell me, I already know." Benji shrugged, letting go of the boy's hand whilst Adria rolled her eyes.
"Oh yeah, totally." Adria scoffed, earning a glare from Benji, who suddenly smiled widely.
"Y'know what, you should come meet the rest of us," Adria's eyes widened at the thought, furiously shaking her head which Sirius couldn't see, "I'm sure dad would love to meet you!"
Adria's father wasn't opposed to boys, which isn't what Adria was worried about when Benji mentioned their dad, but rather, he had a way of embarrassing her without even trying, and it was rather terrifying.
"I'm sure Sirius needs to get back to his family." Adria said, patting Sirius shoulder.
Sirius smirked, seeing the uncomfortable look on Adria's face was highly amusing so instead he shrugged, "I don't actually, y'know I'd love to meet your family, Adria." She scowled, seeing as both her brother and Sirius was teasing her.
"I like you," Benji grinned, patting Sirius' back as he lead the way to Adria's parents and siblings.
"Some help, please!" Adria exclaimed, dragging the case behind her, until she was joined by Sirius once again who took the case from her grip and dragged it with him, "I didn't mean take it off me!"
"A simple thank you would've been enough." Sirius grinned, sitting down the case.
"This is Sirius," Benji grinned, "Adria's friend!"
"Friend!" her father, Douglas repeated in disbelief, already able to embarrass Adria as she groaned, "Oh, it's great to meet you!" he outstretched his hand which Sirius took, and proceeded to shake furiously.
"You're going to break his arm off!" Adria's mother, Judy exclaimed, stopping her husbands arm.
"Sorry, it's just, our little Addy doesn't write to us much, does she?" her dad said, sending a pointed glare to Adria, who rolled her eyes.
"I would if you didn't complain every letter about my owl!" she exclaimed, "who only bit you because you tried to feed it a piece of paper!"
"I'm Alina!" Adria's little sister piped in, stepping forward to shake Sirius hand. Sirius grinned down at the girl, taking her hand and shaking it.
"I'm Sirius," he beamed, "I heard you're a witch."
"Well, I think so," Alina grinned, "Adria think's I am, but I'm not so sure." She whispered, Sirius nodded his head, pursing his lips together as though they where sealed. Alina was like a clone of Adria, well much younger but it was clearly obvious that they where related.
"This is Alfie," adria said, pointing at the boy now standing beside Benji who merley smiled rather awkwardly before returning to staring down the platform.
"The annoying one?" Sirius whispered so no one could here, Adria laughed but nodding her head with a roll of her eyes.
"So, are you excited for Christmas, Sirius?" asked Judy, a kind smile on her lips as she looked at Sirius, just like her daughter, she was rather small so it was no surprise that Sirius was almost taller than her.
"No, he isn't!" Adria piped in before Sirius could talk, he almost groaned when he realised she was telling her family about his Christmas events, and wished despratley that she would stop, "He's not gonna spend it with his family, well he is, but he's spending it in his room!"
"How can you spend Christmas in your room!" Alina gasped, her eyes wide as she looked up at Sirius who looked like a giant compared to her, which wasn't much seeing as Adria was much taller than her.
"It's not that bad," Sirius tried to reassure the family, "I just don't get along with my family all that well to have a good Christmas." He didn't like telling them this, seeing as they just met but Adria's concerned look was enough for him to open up.
"Well you're more than welcome to spend Christmas with us." Douglas shrugged, as Judy nodded.
"What?!" Adria exclaimed, turning to her parents who nodded.
"Of course," Judy said, "any friend of Adria's is certainly welcome!"
"Please, Sirius, this'll be so fun!" Alina gasped, clapping her hands excitedly, whilst Benji nodded with a wide grin of mischief on his face. Adria was speechless, her mouth agape as she looked between her family and Sirius who was equally shocked at the invitation.
"Well- I guess I would have to ask my parents..." Sirius trailed off, looking at Adria for some sort of approval. Sirius turned to look at the place his parents where, but seen the empty space.
"Did they leave you?" Adria asked quietly to Sirius after a few moments of him looking in the same space, he didn't speak a word but instead nodded his head.
"I'm going to get Sirius' trunk," Adria announced, "I'm sure his family just thought he was staying at Hogwarts." She squeezed Sirius' hand reassuringly before grabbing Benji's arm and pulling him through the busy crowd to the trunks.
"Lily!" Adria exclaimed, pulling her into a tight hug, "I'm sorry about on the train."
"No, I shouldn't have over reacted," Lily sighed, "Is this your brother?" she asked, looking at Benji who was looking back at her wide eyed.
"Oh, yes!" she grinned, "Benji, this is Lily."
"Hi, hello, hey, I'm uh, who am I again?" Benji stuttered, "Benji, right! Well I'm actually Benjamin, but no one really calls me that unless I'm in tro-" he was cut off by the sound of Lily laughing, and looked up from the ground where his eyes where situated to see they were joined by three others.
"Mary, Dorcas, Marlene, this is my brother," Adria chuckled, rolling her eyes at him, "Benji."
"Hi Benji!" Marlene grinned, sticking out her hand for him to shake, the others followed their lead until Adria pulled Lily to the side quietly, she loved all of the girls but Lily was her best friend.
"My parents invited Sirius to my house for Christmas!" Adria exclaimed quietly, watching Lily's eyes widen as she searched the platform, until she saw Sirius chatting to two adults and a smaller version of Adria.
"Why?!" she gasped, her eyes trailing back to Adria, seeing the shock on her face. She quickly explained the situation in more detail, and when she was done, Lily burst into a fit of giggles.
"It's not funny!" she gasped, her eyes wide as she smacked the red heads shoulder.
"It kind of is, do you think when you first met Sirius that he'd be joining you for Christmas?" asked Lily, covering her mouth to stop herself from laughing so much.
"No," Adria shook her head, "but we're friends now, and at least he'll have a nice Christmas." Adria shrugged.
"That's true," Lily nodded, as though she was actually interested in the boy when both her and Adria knew she definitely wasn't, "I have to get back to my family, but I'll see you after the holidays!" Adria waved as Lily rushed down the platform, before turning back to Benji who was chatting excitedly with the three girls.
"Some help please?!" Adria said, gaining her brothers attention who rolled his eyes, "Do not roll your eyes at me Benjamin Hopkins, I will end your life!" the smaller of the two squeaked, earning a laugh from Benji and the three girls.
"I never knew you were so feisty!" Mary gasped, "Sirius is gonna have to watch out over the holidays!"
"You told them?!" she asked, looking at Benji accusingly.
"What's the big deal?" he asked, "They're your friends."
"I know- but, you know what never mind," she huffed, "I'll see you three after the holidays!" she said, waving quickly before getting Benji to help her with the trunk.
"We got it!" Adria grinned, gesturing to Sirius' trunk that they placed next to hers on the cart her parents had gotten.
"Great!" Judy grinned, "we where just getting to know Sirius a little bit more. When where you going to tell us that you where a little rebel at that school of yours?"
Adria frowned, her eyes trailing to Sirius who was smirking widely, and almost groaned, "meaning?"
"Meaning," her dad repeated, "when you persuaded Sirius, and three of your other friends to sneak out of school!"
"What?!" Adria shrieked, glaring at Sirius who covered his mouth to stop from laughing, "I did not!"
"That's not what Sirius says," Judy trailed off, grabbing Alina's hand who was attempting to climb atop the cart. Adria's family walked in front of them as they entered at the other side of the barrier taking them out to the muggle part of King's Cross Station, whilst she walked with Sirius behind them.
"I can't believe they just invited me to your house," Sirius said in disbelief, his eyes wide as he shook his head, he couldn't say he wasn't happy about it, seeing as it meant spending more time with Adria, and actually having a better Christmas for once, and her family where highly amusing already.
"Neither can I," Adria chuckled, "but don't think you're in the clear, Black, you're staying with my family which means you are obliged to tell me about yours."
"That seems fair," Sirius sighed after a few moments, "but later, okay?"
"Fair enough," Adria nodded, "also, I should warn you that I get really competitive, uh, during the holidays."
"Is this about the prank war with your siblings?" asked Sirius with a smirk on his lips, "do I get to see you in action?"
Adria laughed loudly, rolling her eyes but nodded anyway, "I always win, Black, they don't stand a chance."
"I don't doubt you," he scoffed.
"Oh you'll get to see our gingerbread house competition!" Adria gasped excitedly, remembering back to when he didn't know what it was, "it's so fun, the winner get's to eat as much gingerbread as they want.
"That's it?"
"what do you mean, that's it?!" Adria exclaimed, "that's the best part!"
"I take it you always win that too?" asked Sirius as they made it out into the cold London air.
"No," Adria sighed, "but Alfie wins a lot, and I'm his favourite so he shares with me!"
"Oh, Adria, we almost forgot to tell you!" Judy exclaimed, turning to look at her daughter quickly as her and Sirius caught up, "Abigail is joining us for Christmas day."
Adria almost groaned, looking quickly at Alfie who was grinning, before rolling her eyes. She couldn't exactly say anything about it, seeing as Sirius was joining them for the full two weeks but she really didn't want to deal with Abigail, and besides, Sirius was much better company.
"I guess Abigail is the girlfriend," Sirius whispered, receiving a nod and a frown from Adria that made her look like a sad puppy.
"You guess correctly," Adria muttered, rolling her eyes, "also, I should warn you, that we have all to go all the way back to bloody Scotland." She huffed.
"But Hogwart's is in Scotland." Sirius said, wondering why Adria's family would travel all the way to London.
"Believe me, I know," she sighed, "only wizards can get picked up at Hogsmeade."
"Bloody hell." Muttered Sirius, earning a nod from Adria.
"Where were you on the train, Mary and Marlene came looking for you saying you'd be with us, but you weren't?" asked Sirius as they walked the London streets, her parents liked to park a bit away from the train station as it was less hassle when they tried to leave.
"Oh, I made friends!" Adria grinned, "I bumped into Milo, and he invited me back to his compartment with his friend, so I went and met Finn!"
"Finn and Milo?" asked Sirius, a look on his face as though he was thinking, "are they in our year?"
"Yes," Adria chuckled, rolling her eyes, "Milo's a Ravenclaw, and Finn's a Hufflepuff."
"Oh!" Sirius nodded, "Blondie? He's the Hufflepuff Seeker!"
"He didn't mention that," Adria shrugged, "I don't see what the big deal with quidditch is."
"Because you don't understand it," Sirius scoffed, "I'm sure James will explain it to you."
"I'll pass," Adria chuckled, "last time I mentioned quidditch, he near enough talked my ear off for about half an hour, he's probably the reason why I don't like it."
"That doesn't surprise me."
