Chapter 139

The young girl sat on the train alone, her backpack laying on the unoccupied seat just beside her, in only under an hour would she stop at the train station of the small town she was visiting, and the thought sent her smile back onto her lips, her excitement bubbling in the pit of her stomach as she turned to rummage through her backpack.

The scenery out of the window was always a favourite to the girl, something she adored for every train ride she had gotten, and merlin was it a lot. But no matter how much she boarded a train, whether a muggle train on route to towns, cities and villages, or maybe even different countries, or the Hogwarts express, her love for the train never faltered.

"Where are you off to?" asked the woman across from her, a kind smile on her lips as she looked up from her book, showing off another point of the train that she loved. She had met friends on the train, whether it be for an hour, or not, she made friends with people, communicated with them, she was never a social girl at school, apart from with her growing friendship group curtsey of the energetic Gryffindor, but outside of school, during summers, she was a whole other person.

The train was another home to her, almost every day she was on the train, with or without money, she would either train hop to her destination, or use money she had saved from jobs at the small ice cream parlour in her town, only able to get work there as her mother's best friend owns the place, a woman with bright eyes and a happy smile, who, in a way, took her in when her mother died.

"I'm going to see my boyfriend," Blair smiled softly at the woman, zipping up her bag after she had gotten out her book, "I haven't seen him since June."

"Oh, that's so romantic," the woman gushed, she wasn't an older woman, maybe in her early thirties, and a wide smile attacking her lips as she asked, "does he know?"

Blair shook her head, a small laugh tumbling from her lips as she spoke, "it's a surprise, actually."

"What's he like?" the woman asked, her head titled ever so slightly and her red painted lips widening to show her teeth. There was no doubt that the woman in front of her had money, she was an elegant beauty, with beautiful blonde hair curled to perfection falling down her back, the book she read was in a leather cover, maybe a notebook, Blair thought, and her accessories that decorated her outfit where ones shining with beauty.

"He's the sweetest boy in the world," Blair whispered, her eyes shining with adoration as she thought of her boyfriend that she couldn't wait to see, "very handsome, if I do say so myself," she giggled, watching the woman's smile widen at the blush attacking Blair's cheeks, "and funny, and so lovely, I've never been to see him before."

"You haven't?" she gasped, wide eyed, "then how did you meet?!"

"We go to the same, um," Blair thought for a moment, "boarding school, up in Scotland, we met there, actually, he was so lovely, but I must admit that we were both a little shy so he started sending me letters."

"Letters?" the woman repeated, clutching her hand over her heart, "that is so romantic!"

Blair giggled as she nodded, unzipping her bag and pulling out the large stack of letters, seeing the woman's eyes widen as she gushed, "you kept them?!"

"Of course, I read them when I miss him," Blair spoke shyly, tucking her letters back into her bag safely. It wasn't odd for her to share parts of her life with strangers, it was what she done on the train, and every stranger she met, whether she learned their name, or not, she remembered them.

Like the time not long ago when she was train hopping with Isaac, a time when she was low on money and had to save every penny, and made friends with a boy not much older than the two, who train hopped to live, with his guitar he spent time busking, and with those few extra pounds did he use to spend on food.

They found out his life story, his name, which was Aaron, and how he stole a guitar and learned when he was a lot younger, it was only him and his mother when he was a baby, and when his mother passed away was he sent to an orphanage, soon running away when he was old enough and finally allowing himself to learn guitar in order to make just a few quid, Isaac related to him, very much so, Blair was sure that the two still keep in contact, and on occasion would she receive a letter from the boy telling her of the places he has been and the people he has performed for.

He was lovely, a friendly face that stuck out more evidently than any other person she had met, and it pained her when he told her and Isaac that they were the only people he had ever met to be friendly, it was sad the way people where, how cruel people could be to hurt a young boy.

"You seem rather young to be on the train yourself," the woman spoke up, taking over the features on Blair's face, the kind, welcoming smile she had, her bright eyes as she stared at the scenery, her happiness.

"I suppose I am young," Blair nodded, "but I have gotten the train on my own for years."

"What age are you, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Sixteen, just recently actually," she smiled, "a little scary, seeing as it's my second last year of school come September!"

"Well, from one girl on the train to another," the woman smiled softly, "you're going to have the worst times of your life, ups and downs, ridden with pain, but every year, every new dilemma is a different chapter in the book of your life, remember to cherish ever moment that you live."

Blair listened intently to the woman, almost too wrapped up to realise that the train stopped, at her stop actually, and with her smile wide, she nodded to the woman, "It was lovely to meet you."

"You too, Blair."

Blair stopped, suddenly turning to the woman who looked completely oblivious to what she had done, and quickly, Blair got off the train, trying to ignore her frantic heart beat as she walked out of the small station, looking around her quickly for any signs of the woman.

She hadn't told her, her name.

She pushed the thought to the back of her mind as she crossed the road quickly, making sure that no cars where in her way as she jumped onto the pavement, finally allowing the small smile to creep back onto her face as the warm summer air hut her bare legs, her hands clutching the straps of her bag as she smiled at the villagers.

it was a small village, Blair realised, she was walking along what seemed to be the main street, as a few shops lined each other, and soon, did she push the door open to one, letting the cool air hit her as she closed the door behind her.

"Afternoon," the man behind the counter said, an old man with greying hair and a bright smile as he greeted her.

"Afternoon," Blair grinned, grabbing two glass bottles of chocolate milk from the fridge that stood at the door, and moving to the aisle with the sweets to grab four bars of chocolate, knowing full well that she couldn't come visit her boyfriend without buying him at least one thing chocolatey.

She moved to the counter, smiling once again at the man as she pulled on her backpack, rummaging through it until she found the spare money that she kept for emergencies in the small zip locked part at the bottom, and soon handed the man one of the notes, awaiting her change as she placed what she bought in her backpack.

"Thank you, have a nice day," she spoke cheerily, waving at the man as she exited the shop, and soon was she on her travels through the town. She knew at some point she would have to ask for directions, seeing as she had no idea how to get to Remus' house, just that it was in this town, or rather close to it.

Her smile was evident on her lips as she walked past a small field, the smile widening as she saw the daffodils and soon moved to pick a bunch, putting them in the back pocket of her shorts before continuing on her travels. She loved how warm it was, and how quaint and relaxing the little town was, she was sure Isaac and Ellis would love it, knowing that the two were probably back home either winding up her dad, or on an adventure without her.

The notes the two had written for her was enough motivation for her to go off on her little adventure by herself, she was used to it, as much as she travelled almost everywhere with Isaac and Viola, she loved going off on her own sometimes, it was a slight sense of independence on her part, and as much as it was fun, it was an experience she always remembered.

"Hello, excuse me," Blair's soft voice caught the attention of the old woman, her eyebrows furrowed as she turned at the sight of the young girl, "I'm a little lost," she laughed softly, watching the woman laugh too, as she nodded.

"Oh dear," the woman smiled kindly, gesturing for Blair to continue, and soon Blair had recited the address that she had sent countless letters to.

"Oh, the little house!" the woman beamed, nodding as she gestured in the direction that Blair was already going, "take the second left exit, and carry on down that road, it's a little isolated house, lovely and quaint, you'll recognise it!"

"Thank you," Blair patted the old woman's shoulder, bringing out one of the daffodils from her back pocket, "the only payment I can give you, thank you for your kindness."

"Oh nonsense," the woman waved her off, patting her cheek, "now you watch yourself."

"I will, thanks again!" Blair giggled, bidding her a goodbye with a wave and jogging slightly in the direction she had already been going.

The town had just passed, now leaving an isolated road for her to walk down, and soon was she following the directions that the woman gave her and turned at the second left exit, taking her down a long winding road with evident car marks on the dirt.

Blair watched as she stumbled across the house, a beautiful woman hanging out the washing on the line just beside her home, with a small smile as she hummed to herself and her eyes bright as she danced around her garden, stopping suddenly at the sight of Blair.

"Oh honey, I think you have the wrong house!" the woman gasped, seeing Blair nearing her ever so slightly and watching her eyes widen.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" Blair spoke, shaking her head, "I must've misheard the directions!" she watched as the woman moved over to her, coming closer and allowing Blair in the small metal gate leading into her home.

She placed a hand on Blair's shoulder as she asked, "who are you looking for?"

Blair smiled softly as she stared at the woman, "my boyfriend, Remus."

She watched the woman as her eyes widen, her hand clasped over her mouth as she grinned, and soon, as her hand drop did she speak, rather excitedly, "you're Blair? Oh, merlin you are gorgeous, see I told him, I told that bloody boy just to speak to you, and now look!"

Blair couldn't help but giggle as she watched the woman, with a resemblance to Remus she had only just noticed and concluded that she must be his mother, "I'm Hope, oh it's so lovely to meet you!" she exclaimed, her name confirming that Blair was right, and soon was she in a tight hug, happiness bubbling in her stomach as she eagerly hugged Hope back.

"It's so lovely to meet you, too, Remus talks about you all the time I've always wanted to meet you!" Blair grinned, running a hand through her hair as she walked with the woman.

"So, how did you get here?!" asked Hope, her eyes wide as she linked her arm with Blair's, "did someone drop you?!"

"Oh no," Blair shook her head, "I got the train!"

She watched Hope gasp, "you got the train all the way here to see Remus?" she asked, her heart swelling as she watched Blair nod.

"Of course, I missed him!" Blair giggled, allowing Hope to guide her through her - rather lovely - home, and soon where they out the back.

Blair's heart sped as she caught sight of her boyfriend, leaning against the tree that was in their back garden, his hair slightly messier than what she had seen it and still did he have a cardigan on even in the warmer weather, she watched as he flipped the pages of the book he read, his eyebrows furrowed and his lip between his teeth as he focused with concentration.

He looked so good and merlin did she miss him.

"Oh, I almost forgot," Blair spoke quietly, turning to Hope and soon did she pull the bunch of Daffodils from her back pocket, "oh, well, that's not good," she frowned, her head titled as she looked at the very bent Daffodils that didn't seem to make it the full trip, and with a laugh, Hope gratefully took the flowers.

"They are lovely, thank you!" Hope smiled, patting Blair's cheek who couldn't help but smile at how much Hope resembled her mother, so kind and loving, a bright light. She watched Hope turn back to her son, her smile turning to a grin as she spoke, "Remus, you have a visitor!"

"Yeah, one minute," he called, flipping another page of the book, without so much as looking in his mother's direction, and that was when Blair laughed, louder than she had when she was talking with his mother, and the sound distracted him, brought his gaze up from the book, clouded his thoughts with so much emotion.

And then he saw her, beautiful as ever, with a tan he hadn't seen before, but he knew what she was like in summer, he had heard of the many adventures she went on, so it wasn't surprising that her slightly paler skin wasn't so much like that anymore.

She looked so good, gorgeous, stunning, an angel, his eyes raked her body as she stood with the shorts on, exposing her bare legs and the t-shirt she had tucked into her shorts, a very familiar t-shirt, and it was then that he realised that it was his.

His book dropped from his hand as he stood suddenly, unsure of what to do for a moment as he just stared at her, and she just stared back, both of them taking each other in as Hope left them to it - but of course, the woman was watching them from the small window in the kitchen - Blair smiled first, reaching her eyes which crinkled with delight, but Remus took a step.

And then another, and another.

And soon was he in front of her, his hands on each side of her face and without so much of a greeting was his lips on hers, kissing her so passionately that she stumbled back from the force of his lips, and had it not been for the way his arm slipped around her waist, regaining her balance, with the feeling of his lips on hers and her knees going weak, she was sure she would've fell.

She gripped his shirt, pulling him closer to her, as close as he could go, pushing herself onto her tiptoes as his tongue slipped into her mouth, deepening their kiss as they stood in his back garden, the sun shining down on the two as their lips moved in sync, and the smile that hadn't left Blair's mouth widened.

"I missed you, I missed you so much," he whispered as he pulled away only when he really had to, and soon moved to kiss every inch of her face that he could possibly reach, hearing her giggles fill the air as her eyes closed, soaking up the feeling of him close to her, the feeling that she had missed so terribly.

"I missed you too, so much, so, so, much," she grins, attacking his lips again with her own, she had missed the feeling so much, the feeling of his lips, the taste of him, how close he was, she was basking in it, savouring it, "I had to see you, I couldn't wait until September!"

He stops as he looks at her, a twinkle in his eye and a grin on his lips, a beautiful sight for her, she could have trekked across mountains, or the desert, but both would be worth it if meant she got to see him there waiting for her at the end.

"How did you get here?" he asks, tightening his grip around her as they stood, unable to move, keeping as close to each other as could be.

"I got the train," she speaks, pushing herself up to kiss his nose.

"You got the train?!" he repeated, eyes wide looking down at her, "but how? That must've taken hours!"

Her head titled ever so slightly, looking at him, just staring for a few moments until she pressed her forehead to his, whispering, "merlin, it was worth it."

His mouth can't help but twitch into a smile, his hand tangled in her hair holding her closer, a shiver running down his spine when her breath fanned his neck and soon she nuzzled her head into the crook, pressing soft kisses to his skin, "it's so dangerous, love, especially now, anything could've happened to you!"

"I needed to see you, Remus," she whispered, reaching her hands up his chest to cup his cheek, "I can risk a little danger to see you, Remus, I missed you far too much!" she pulled his head down to press her lips to his, softly this time, for only a second but the butterflies erupted in his stomach in a frenzy, "I went to France on the train, I'm perfectly fine!"

"If anything happened to you, Blair, I could never forgive myself," he mumbles, pressing soft kisses to her cheek and down her jaw, nuzzling his head into her neck just like she had done previously, "where is Isaac, what about your sister?!"

"They're back home, it was actually them that told me to come, apparently, I was sulking," she giggled, her arms moving around his waist whilst she leaned her head on his chest, looking up at him and watching as he grinned, "I realised something over summer, Remus."

"what did you realise, love?" he asked, his head titled down to look at her, moving to press a kiss to her forehead.

She bit her lip, a soft laugh escaping her them as she tightened her grip on him, smiling widely as she finally spoke, "I realised that I'm in love with you."

Remus couldn't help the wide grin that took over his features, shaking his head ever so slightly with a laugh, and before he could even speak, did the two hear squealing coming from inside the house, coming from none other than Hope Lupin, and with a laugh escaping both of their lips, he moves one of his hands from her waist, guiding her chin up and pressing a tender kiss to her lips, whispering, "I love you too, I'm so in love with you, Blair Kerr."

-

"I can't believe you're here," Remus whispered, his hand tangled in Blair's hair as she lay on his bare chest, the two of them felt rather sick from the large amount of chocolate they had both ate, all of the chocolate that Blair brought, including the chocolate milk, and then some from Remus' chocolate stash that he kept for the holidays.

A content smile rested on Blair's lips as she nodded ever so slightly, tracing soft patterns over the scars that littered his body, he couldn't help but be a little self-conscious whenever he was shirtless around her, knowing the scars that he had, but he had never told her of this.

"I'm glad I'm here," she mumbled, pushing herself to sit up from where she sat between his legs, her eyes on his scars as she followed each pattern. She had always known that there was something more to Remus' scars, in no way could anyone be that clumsy, and she would know with a best friend like Isaac Hall.

"C-can you not stare at them?" Remus whispered quietly, his cheeks red and his eyes somewhere else as Blair's eyes snapped to his, watching him intently for a few moments, silent as ever.

She ducked her head, moving along his stomach and chest, pressing her lips to every scar she saw with a soft kiss. Her lips trailed up his neck, over his jaw and his face, until she reached his lips, feeling his arms snake around her waist, she whispered, "I love them, Remus, your scars are yours, and you should never feel insecure about them, ever, because
