Chapter 114

Adria walked through the Hogwarts corridor a few weeks after her return to the castle, a wide grin spread across her lips and her hair swinging in a pony tail that she had quickly shoved it in. She was rather excited for her day of classes today, mostly her first class which was Potions with Slughorn, and today their lesson would be on Amortentia, which Adria was ecstatic about.

Back in fourth year when she learned that it smelled of her to Sirius, she couldn't say that her heart didn't swell at his words, and well, she didn't realise that she loved peppermint until he kissed her.

She stopped in front of the door to the potions classroom where she was greeted by Lily with a wide grin, "I tried waking you up this morning," Lily shook her head as though she went through a traumatic experience to which Adria couldn't help but scoff at as she rolled her eyes.

"It's not that bad!" she exclaimed, laughing as she pushed herself into the classroom with Lily in tow.

"The only person who can wake you up is Sirius!" Lily chuckled, earning a look as she took the seat next to her. Seeing as Lily wasn't friends with Severus anymore, Adria thought it was only wise that she become Lily's new partner which also allows Peter to actually work with his friends.

Now, James still worked with Remus on the potions work and Peter worked with Sirius, of course, as much as Sirius loved Peter, he wasn't exactly happy that he wasn't with Adria anymore, but the girl sat right behind him so it wasn't like he still couldn't see her.

"Morning class!" Slughorn beamed as he entered from the small room behind the large class, a collection of 'mornings' was heard through the class, and Adria couldn't help but grin when the caldron bubbling with the familiar sight of Amortentia was seen on the table close to Slughorn.

"Today we will be lear-"

"Sorry, sorry, we're late!" Adria glared at the sight of her four friends tumbling through the door for their rude interruption when Slughorn was talking, but the man merely shook his head, clapping his hands together and gestured to their table.

"Take a seat, boys!"

"You know your life would be easier if you just got up a little earlier," Adria grumbled as she leaned on Sirius' back to whisper in his ear, she caught sight of his lips upturned in a smirk, watching as he turned to her with a raised eyebrow.

"You weren't there to wake me up," he pouted, earning a scoff as she elbowed him.

"I'm not your alarm clock, Sirius, I'm your girlfriend," she scoffed quietly, seeing his smirk widen as he nodded.

"And a great one you are," she glared at him as she sat up, making an effort to pay attention to Slughorn and not Sirius who was reaching for her hand which he managed to find and was now currently tracing small circles on her skin whilst she forcefully avoided his stare.

"Now can someone tell me any ingredient found in any love potion?" asked Slughorn, and excitedly did both Adria and Lily's hands shoot up into the air, sending each other a smile as they both tried not to laugh at each other's enthusiasm.

"Ah yes, Miss Hopkins, a fan of Amortentia aren't you?" asked Slughorn, beaming at his student who couldn't help but laugh.

"It's fascinating, sir," she smiled, nodding her head.

"You're right there," Slughorn nodded, "well tell me, Miss Hopkins, what is an ingredient used in a love potion?"

"Ashwinder eggs, sir, are common in a large variety of love potions," Adria recited her memory of love potions which she had studied back in third year when she found out about Amortentia, "but pearl dust is used in all love potions, particularly Amortentia which is known and identifiable for its mother of pearl sheen!"

"Very good, Miss Hopkins, ten points to Gryffindor!" Slughorn exclaimed happily, giving her a thumbs up before gesturing everyone over to the table.

"Y'know if I didn't know any better, I'd say you slipped me a love potion," Sirius teased as they made their way over to the desk Slughorn stood over.

"Oh please, Black, if anyone was slipping anyone a love potion it'd be you," she smirked, winking as she pushed herself between Remus and James, grinning up at both of them as she done so.

"Miss Evans, I trust you can tell us what you can smell," Slughorn smiled at Lily, and for a moment, Adria was sure Lily wanted to scream at the man, not because she didn't like him, but because she was his obvious favourite, and she wasn't so fond of the role.

Lily took a step forward, allowing the smells of the Amortentia to fill her senses and soon was she gnawing at her bottom lip, allowing her red hair to fall over the blush spreading over her cheeks when the familiar scent of one specific boy filled her senses, he had a specific scent to his hair, and that scent was the one Lily could smell now, taking her back to the time they sat close together blending in with the trees surrounding the black forest when his head rested on her stomach as she read to him and she leaned down to press a kiss to his forehead, allowing the smell to enter her nostrils.

"Lily," Adria whispered, nudging her gently when Lily seemed completely dazed, "are you okay?"

"Oh, yes," Lily snapped from her daze, sending Adria a reassuring smile she turned back to the potion, "I-I smell, um, the great hall at dinner," she was making it up as she went along, because she didn't smell the great hall at dinner, although the smell was fantastic, all she could smell was things relating closely to James Potter, so with a breath leaving her lips she spoke, "T-the smell of grass, and rain, together, I suppose, like the quidditch pitch on match day, a-and I smell c-cauldron cakes, and- and, that's it," she spoke with a slight reluctance in her tone because that definitely was not all she could smell, in fact, she could've went on about the familiar scent of aftershave that James wore, or the smell of the quidditch pitch after a game and he would celebrate with her in secret, but still he would smell like the grass and the rain and the smell was lovely.

Subtly, Lily felt a hand taking hers amongst the sea of students surrounding them, and for a second did the familiar feeling bubble in her stomach as she casually looked around the classroom, connecting eyes with James who squeezed her hand before letting it go.

"Very well, Miss Evans!" Slughorn's voice broke the silence in the room, and with a small smile forced in his direction, Lily nodded, "Mr Black, I assume yours still smells like Miss Hopkins?"

Adria bit her lip when the familiar sound of giggles filled the classroom but soon did Sirius' arms wrap around her and his head rested atop of hers whilst a smirk attacked his lips and he spoke, "of course, sir."

Slughorn let a hearty laugh leave his lips as he nodded, speaking, "oh how I love, love!" before turning to a Slytherin student at the other side of the room.

-

"Did you see Lily today?" asked Adria as she sat with her legs draped over Sirius, tapping softly at his hand that rested on her thigh and a smirk wide over her lips.

"I believe I did," Sirius nodded sarcastically, earning an eyeroll.

"No, I mean in potions with the Amortentia," Adria scoffed, "she so clearly likes someone!"

"That much is obvious, babe, but who?" Sirius chuckled, "hopefully James so he stops going on about her."

"What if it is?" she asked, her eyebrow raised as she thought of it, "think about it, James is obsessed with quidditch, that much is obvious, but Lily isn't so fond of it, well she goes to games but she doesn't love it, so why would she love the smell of a quidditch pitch at a match? She doesn't love Quidditch, she loves someone playing quidditch, and James Potter so clearly plays quidditch!"

"Unless she loves you," Sirius teased, "seeing as you're trying out this year again, aren't you?"

"I am," Adria nodded, pulling him closer to her with the front of his shirt and resting her head on his shoulder, "and of course Lily loves me!"

"Is she in love with you?"

"No, she's in love with James, hopefully," Adria giggled, tracing small love hearts over Sirius' chest softly, "he loves cauldron cakes, right?"

"He loves them," Sirius chuckles, "but doesn't he like sugar quills a lot, too?"

"No, he just likes them to distract himself from classes," Adria shrugged, "I'm sure that Lily wasn't telling as all that she liked, if I'm honest."

"Are we going to spy on the poor girl?" Sirius asked, his eyebrow raised as she smiled widely.

"We are the spies of Hogwarts, but why would we spy on her?"

"Well both her and James always disappear, now that I think of it," he trailed off, watching Adria's eyes widen as she turned to him.

"You don't think-"

"Have you seen either of them since dinner?" Sirius asked, his eyebrow raised as she thought, and finally did she shake her head.

"There is no way," she whispered, "but I haven't, no."

"Come on," Sirius announced, reluctantly moving her so that he could stand up and then turning to take her hand, "we have some spying to do!"

She rolled her eyes as she stood up, following him out of the empty dormitory and down to the common room where Remus and Peter sat with an evident lack of James, "Oh, Ads, have you seen Lily, I wanted to ask her something about potions?" asked Remus as the two approached them.

"No I haven't seen her since dinner, actually," Adria shook her head, biting her lip, "but I'll let you know if I find her!"

"Where are you two going?" asked Peter, a smirk on his lips as both Adria and Sirius rolled their eyes.

"On an adventure," Sirius grinned, "we'll see you later!"

"Now where could they be?" asked Adria as she pulled Sirius down the hall, it was rather dark outside so she was sure they wouldn't venture into the cold, but where in the castle they could be was a mystery.

"I'm not sure," Sirius mumbled, slipping his arm around Adria's waist to pull her closer, "y'know we don't need to go looking for them if you don't want to, we could always look for something else," he smirked teasingly, wiggling his eyebrows as she turned to look at him.

"Something else?"

"Yes," Sirius nodded, "maybe, perhaps, an empty classroom?"

"Oh, shove off, Sirius," she chuckled, pushing herself forward until he pulled her back, catching her when she fell into him with a gasp.

"I'm not kidding," he whispered, pressing her against the wall whilst she averted her eyes, trying her best to steady her rising heartbeat. He moved his hand, lifting her chin so that she would look at him and softly pressed his lips to hers, one hand on her hip as his tongue swiped her bottom lip.

Her hands found the back of his neck, pulling him closer to her in a frantic motion, and soon was his lips off of hers and attacking her neck, pressing sweet kisses to her skin until he nipped the skin, earning a gasp that she couldn't seem to help.

"Sirius," she whispered, very reluctantly pushing him away whilst attempting to steady her breathing, "come on."

"You're no fun," he pouts, reaching for her hand and pulling her down the hallway, "my offer still stands."

"How romantic," she teases, giving him a look whilst he couldn't help but laugh, throwing his arm around her shoulder and pulling her closer to him.

"I'm very romantic," he grins, "you know you can't say otherwise."

"I suppose you're a little romantic," she giggled, lifting her head to look at him, "can you believe it has almost been two years?"

"The best two years of my life," he mumbles against her forehead, tightening the grip on her whilst she couldn't help but laugh.

"Fine you're very romantic," she rolled her eyes, laughing as she done so, "I love you."

He smiled softly, running a hand through her hair as they walked quietly down the hall, and with a sigh he whispers, "I love you too, Addy, so much."

She grinned as she turned to him, ready to speak until she stopped suddenly, hearing an all too familiar voice, she pushed Sirius closer to the wall, her eyes wide as she whispers, "can you hear that?"

"I can," Sirius nodded, both of them sharing a look before they peaked behind the corner, seeing Lily with her hand clasped over her mouth as James towered over her, his hands resting on her waist as he guided her to the wall for support, and with a smile did Lily wrap her arms around his neck, running a hand through his hair as he couldn't help but grin.

"So, Lily Evans," James smirked teasingly, "a quidditch pitch, cauldron cakes, I wonder who that reminds you of?"

From what Adria could see, Lily rolled her eyes, laughing soflty as she done so, "shove off, James."

"Nah, I don't think I will," he mumbled, swiftly leaning down to capture her lips in his, earning a wide eyed response from Adria who turned suddenly to Sirius.

"Oh merlin," she muttered, pushing him back behind the corridor so that they weren't seen.

"Can't say I'm not surprised," Sirius scoffed, shaking his head whilst Adria nodded in agreement.

"Well, a little," she spoke, pulling his had down the hall, "we can't tell them we know."

"Wha- Ads, why not?"

"Because they're keeping it a secret for a reason, Sirius," Adria sighed, unsure that looking for them was a good idea, "and we need to resepct that."

He thought for a moment, a sigh leaving his lips as he pulled her closer, nodding his head as he done so, "you're right," he nodded, "so seeing as our best friends are having fun, why don't we?"

"Sirius-"

"We've found them, now let's find that empty classroom," he wiggled his eyebrows teasingly, knowing full well that she was going to push him away.

But she turned to him, rolling her eyes in the process but then did a smirk capture her lips and she pulled him along, "this empty enough for you?" she asked, opening the door to an isolated classroom, watching with a laugh as his eyes widened and his lips parted.

"Y-yes, it," he nodded, closing the door behind him as her lips found his.
