Chapter 113

The platform nine and three quarters was of course busy on the day that Adria, Sirius, Alina and Lia would return back to Hogwarts, but even amongst the large crowd of people there, both Benji and Alfie were still apologising to Adria for the events that happened on Jude's birthday.

The boy sat resting on Adria, with his legs around her waist and his arms around her neck, and whilst Adria was still mad at the two boys for ruining his birthday, she really didn't want to go back in the middle of an argument, so as they stood there all huddled together only slightly, trying their best not get in anyone's way, Adria listened to Benji apologise for about the sixth time just today.

"We were selfish, Addy, and we're sorry, so bloody sorry, we should've thought about Jude instead of ourselves!" Benji sighed, pleading with wide eyes and his hands clasped in front of him so that she would finally forgive him.

And really, she already had, so with a sigh, she nodded her head and handing Jude to Sirius, she wrapped her arms around him tightly, "you're forgiven, I'm sorry I wouldn't hear you out."

"Don't apologise, Addy," Benji chuckled, tightening his grip on her as she nodded silently, breathing a sigh, "I'll miss you, so much!"

"I'll miss you too, Benji, you know that," Adria sighed, she really did hate leaving her family behind, she loved them far too much that the thought of leaving them behind always felt like a pain to her stomach. Whilst she loved every single one of her family, she couldn't deny that there was a soft spot in her heart for Benji, the boy was her twin and although they argued over the stupidest things - and some not so stupid things - she still loved him with her whole heart.

"I'm sorry too, Ads, and you too, Sirius, I'm sorry for that day, and for making you worry so much," Alfie sighed, patting Adria's shoulder she nodded her head, smiling softly whilst pulling him into the tightest hug she could muster.

"I love you, Alf," she choked out, trying her best not to shed a tear, it was becoming difficult at the sad faces of her family, she watched Allie wrap her arms around Benji, her lips slightly quivering as she tried as hard as Adria not to cry, "I'll miss you so much!"

"I'll miss you too, Addy, with all my heart," he whispered, "I'll see you at Christmas and we can do something, just us two, and spend all day bonding!" he gave her a grin whilst she nodded her head.

"Sounds like a plan, don't you forget!" she wagged a finger at him whilst he nodded and soon was she in front of her dad, she stuck out her hand which he grabbed to shake and soon did he pull her into a tight hug, almost cutting off her breathing but she didn't care because she wouldn't see him until Christmas and leaving him was so painful.

"You know, you'd think as I got older, that this would get easier," Adria whispered, frowning as the tears in her eyes finally slipped in the arms over her father, he chuckled softly as he nodded his head.

"You could be forty years old visiting me, and when you leave I'd still be as sad as ever," Douglas mumbled, "you and Sirius better come visit me in the old folks home."

"Of course, we will, dad," she giggled, rolling her eyes as she pulled away, "I'll miss you far too much.

"And of course, I'll miss you too," Douglas smiled.

She nodded her head, wiping furiously at her tears until she saw Jude squirming in Sirius' grip to get to her, and with a sigh she took him, standing close to Sirius whose hand rested on her waist and his head on her hers as she hugged Jude close, "oh, my little prince," she mumbled, wiping the hair away from his face as he rests contently in her arms, "I think leaving you is the hardest thing I ever have to do."

Jude turned to stare at her, his wide eyes blinking and with a soft giggle leaving his lips he pressed his hand to her cheek, watching with a small frown of the unknown as a sob leaves her lips.

"Okay, that's enough," Alfie whispers, shaking his head as he wipes his tears at the exchange, it was so clearly obvious that Adria saw her mother in Jude, they all did, so the thought of her leaving him every year was pain that the boy couldn't imagine. With some force, he was able to pry Jude from Adria's arms, watching as the boy couldn't help but cry at the lack of her warmth, he was only an infant but he knew this place, he knew this was the place that his sister seemed to leave for a while and he wouldn't see her, and he hated It, he didn't want her to go, and she didn't want to leave him.

She turned to wrap her arms around Sirius, a sob leaving her lips whilst he held her, waving goodbye with a sad smile as he guided her to the train with Alina and Lia. Alina was in the same state as Adria, crying as she had to leave her family behind for another year, and even though she loved Hogwarts, they both did, it was still painful leaving behind their loved ones, because they simply loved them so much.

Adria hugged Alina tightly, they needed to, even in the middle of the train they just needed each other's, like sisters do, and with a few soft laughs at how they were acting they departed ways. Lia linked arms with Alina, waving as they made their way down the train, the opposite direction to which Adria and Sirius where going.

Before looking for Finn and Milo, Adria was going to see the boys to catch up with them, and of course tell them of her summer after they had left. She looked up at Sirius with a sad smile, the sight able to break his heart as he intertwined their fingers together and with a deep breath, she pulled him down the small hallway filled with students on her way to the compartment at the end, the compartment the boys couldn't help but call theirs.

"I love the train," Adria sighed as she sat with the boys, the sky was dark outside and the only thing she could see way off in the distance was the faint lights of the castle shining through the trees atop of the hill, "but the journey is just too long!"

"Oh, I know," Finn nodded with a frown, "I wish I was someone who could sleep, but not on a train I couldn't!"

"Me neither," Adria sighed, her eyes narrowed as the both looked at Milo sleeping soundly with his head resting against Finn's chest whose arms wrapped around him tightly, "every time I see you two together I just to find Sirius, you're too damn cute."

"Let's face it, we are cuter than you and Sirius," Finn smirked teasingly, absetmnidely running his fingers through Milo's hair as he slept, "he's cute though, isn't he?"

"He is," Adria giggled, shaking her head, "Sirius and I are so much cuter, sorry Finny, but it's just facts!"

"How many times have we had this argument?" asked Finn, shaking his head whilst Adria shrugged.

"Too much to count," she chuckled, "but I will fight my cause, Sirius is just too adorable not to be part of the cutest couple!"

"Look at him, Ads," Finn exclaimed, cringing when Milo stirred in his embrace, "Milo is too damn cute not be part of the cutest couple!"

"Does this mean that Sirius and Milo have to get together?" asked Adria, clasping her hand over her mouth to conceal her giggles, "no thank you I couldn't let him go."

"How cute."

"I try my best," Adria smirked, letting a cheer leave her lips when the train stopped. She watched with a teasing 'awww' as Finn woke Milo, smiling at the boy as he sat up, looking around his surroundings confusedly, "have a good sleep?"

"I actually did," he mumbled, turning to look at Finn who he lay on, "very comfortable."

"I try my best," Finn smirked, copying Adria who merely rolled her eyes.

"I'm going to find Sirius, but I'll see you at dinner," she grinned, waving goodbye as she pushed herself into the hall, trying her best to slip past the frantic first years on her way out onto the platform.

"Allie!" Adria called, her hands clasped over her mouth as she looked at the third year looking rather confused and completely alone, "Al, where is Lia?"

"I actually don't know," the youngest of the two frowned, shrugging as she attempted to shield herself from the rain pouring down on the Hogsmeade platform. Adria chuckled softly, taking Alina's arm she pulled her along in the direction of the carriages.

"That's not very good," Adria mumbled, looking out for Sirius and the boys and finally calling them over, "we have a stowaway."

"Oh, hey Alina," James grinned, ruffling the younger girls hair whilst she glared at him.

"Wanna try that again, specky?" she grumbled, fixing her hair whilst Adria couldn't help but laugh. James scowled at her glaring as he pushed himself into the carriage behind him, reaching out his hand for the younger girl so that she wouldn't fall as she got in.

"You're just like your sister," he huffed, watching as she grinned innocently from beside him and pushed her shoulder.

"Not even two seconds and you're already arguing with a Hopkins," Peter teased as he closed the carriage door, earning a scoff from Adria from where she sat beside Remus and across from Sirius, her legs on his as his fingers traced along her leg absentmindedly.

"You know what I've always wondered?" Alina sighed, turning from where she looked at the majestic, leathery creatures pulling the carriages.

"What have you always wondered?" James asked with mock enthusiasm, earning a glare as she nudged him.

"What those creatures are pulling the carriage, I mean I tried looking in the library but there was nothing at all on them!" Alina exclaimed, her eyes wide and her arms flailing in frustration. A blanket of silence draped over the carriage as the boys shared a look with each other, and Remus shared a look with Adria, vaguely remember back to the time when they were looking through restricted section books and the term 'Thestrals' popped up.

"Alina," Adria whispered, wide eyed as she looked at her younger sisters, "y-you can see them?"

"See what?" asked James, confused as his head titled to the side.

"The thestrals," Remus spoke up, his voice rather bland as he looked at the front of the carriage which he would think was pulling itself if it weren't for the book in the restricted section giving him the knowledge on the creatures.

Death. You have witnessed death, accepted death in order to see a thestral, and the thirteen year old girl looking around at the shocked faces had seen death, and Adria had no knowledge as to how.

She sucked in a breath as she stared intently at Alina and whispered, "how can you see them, Allie?"

"What do you mean, how?"

"Alina, you have to have witnessed death to have seen them," Remus mumbled, offering the girl a small smile solely out of comfort when he saw Alina's eyes widen.

"D-death?" she asked, turning suddenly in her seat to look at the thestrals in front of her, they closely resembled horses, if Alina was honest, with sleek leather skin and wide eyes trained on the castle.

She took a shaky breath as she shared a look with Adria, "have you witnessed death, Allie?" asked Adria, watching Alina avert her eyes suddenly when the carriage pulled to a stop, and just like that, Alina pushed herself out of the carriage, sending a look to Adria, one with a smile as forced as they come but begging Adria not to ask her how, that she would tell her in her own time, and she promised that she would.

And with a shaky breath, Adria nodded.

Because she understood in some odd way that Alina had secrets, terrible ones by the looks of it, and as much as she wanted to know what her younger sister had unknowingly went through, she had no idea what to think of it.
