Chapter 104

"I'm sorry,"

"Shhh,"

"No, Ads, I'm sorr-"

"Divination is important, Re-"

"Adria, please!" Remus huffed, gripping her hand in his own, attracting her attention from where it was previously on her care of magical creatures revision, "look, i know you've forgiven me, but I don't feel like I deserve it, I done something terrible, I'm an idiot, a bloody idiot, and you shouldn't have just forgiven me like that-"

"Remus John Lupin, you could kill someone and I'd forgive you," Adria laughed softly, "I took plenty of time to be angry at you, and merlin I was, but I can't dwell on the past any longer, and neither should you, so please, Remus, just let it go, please? it's been weeks, Remus!"

"But-"

"Let it go," Adria repeated, laughing softly as she squeezed his hand, "I'm over it, I've been over it for ages, and so has Lily, she seems very happy these days if I'm honest, must be the lack of Severus keeping her mind at ease."

"Mhmm," Remus nodded, laughing as he done so, "James seems overly happy that you aren't mad at him anymore, but I think it's just because Lily hugged him.

"Lily did what?!" Adria's eyes widened at the new news, "well, Rems, I didn't know that!"

"You didn't?" Remus scoffed, shaking his head at the nickname she had given him, "it's all he bloody goes on about."

"Doesn't surprise me, I don't think he can go a day without mentioning something remotely related to Lily," Adria giggled, rolling her eyes as she done so, "oh Lily's eyes are so beautiful, oh Lily's hair is so gorgeous, oh Lily!"

"As if you can talk, both you and Sirius are just as bad," Remus rolled his eyes, "oh, Adria done something so cute today, you should've seen it," Remus snickered, mimicking Sirius whilst Adria merely rolled her eyes.

"Oh shush, Remus," she huffed, "as if you're any better, you're like in love with Blair."

"I'm not in love with her," he replied defensively, "doesn't matter if I did anyway, why would she go out with me?"

"Because you're handsome, and funny, and sweet, and kind, and love books a little less than she does, but still tons!" Adria exclaimed, her arms flailing around before resting in the grass that they rested upon, "come on, Rems, don't tell me you don't realise that she is completely head over heels for you!"

The beeeze of the approaching summer was enough to get the two teenagers outside, seeing as the sunnier days where drawing in, they thought it would be much better to try and study out on the bright day.

And whilst at first it was rather lovely feeling the warm breeze against their bare skin, it got kind of out of hand when their notes started flying everywhere. But nonetheless, the two best friends where mostly enjoying each other's company, seeing as they had both been so busy with O.W.L revision - which they where of course supposed to be doing - they both felt that they had barely any chance to talk.

"That is complete-"

"ley true!" Adria smirked, finishing off his sentence in a way he definitely wasn't going to, "Remus, please, you deserve to be happy and I know Blair makes you just that!"

"Mhmm, maybe," Remus mumbled, the blush that spread over his cheeks was completely evident to Adria, and the smile that widened on her lips was enough to make Remus turn his head, a little embarrassed that he was letting his emotions get the better of him.

Adria giggled, tapping her pen on her notes in front of her, "oh shove off," he grumbled, pushing her whilst her giggles turned into a loud laugh.

-

"This is not good," she huffed, shaking her head so much that her long her fell onto her face, hiding the smile that was so clearly evidently on her lips, although she was trying her best to hide it.

He smirked, his hand intertwined with hers as he pulled her down the hall one afternoon in April, rushing so that they weren't caught skipping classes, they really shouldn't be, really, they had O.W.Ls very soon, but as much as she wished to care, she couldn't deny that her thumping heart in her chest, and the risk they were taking was enough to make her follow him.

"It's only one day," he scoffed, shaking his head as he pulled her closer to him, basking in the moment that they were sharing together whilst his black hair fell only slightly in front of his face.

"But Owls," she mumbled, her arm around his waist as she looked out for any teachers or students that could potentially catch them, "do you even know where we are going?"

"No, but we'll figure out when we get there, I suppose," he shrugged, earning a soft laugh that finally escaped her lips.

"This still isn't good," she mumbled, shaking her head as she done so, "at all, we will get caught, I know it, we are so going to get caught-"

He cut her off when his lips pressed to hers, speeding up her heart at the warmth of his soft lips that sent her mind into a frenzy whilst setting a group of butterflies wild in her stomach. He attempted to pull away but she just pushed herself onto her tiptoes, a small smile making its way onto her lips as she wrapped her arms around his neck, pushing him against the wall of the hall whilst he laughed against her mouth.

"Close enough?" he teased as they pulled away for a breath, their foreheads touching which almost sent his glasses to the floor.

"No," she giggled, her red locks falling onto his shoulder as she cupped his cheek, "do you think anyone suspects us?"

"Are you kidding?" James scoffed, gripping her waist through the robes she wore, "of course not!"

"You're still an arrogant toe rag, by the way," Lily smirked, rolling her eyes as she pushed herself out of his grip, turning around the corner down the next hallway whilst he followed her like a lovesick puppy.

"I've heard," James smirked, slipping his hand around her waist as they walked, "why are we keeping this a secret again?"

"Well, I hate you, of course," Lily teased, turning to face him, "no, I'm just joking but don't you think everyone would take it a little too far, with the teasing and the fact that we did hate each other-"

"Who said I've ever hated you?" asked James, his eyebrow raised as he looked down at her, she rolled her eyes as she leaned her head on him whilst his arm wrapped around her.

"Oh shush," Lily scoffed, "you hated me James, from first year to third year, maybe not so much fourth year but you can't even deny it."

"Well you can't deny that you like me, now can you?" James stopped her, taking a step-in front of her and now it was his turn to guide her, gripping the sides of her waist as he stared at her intently, pressing her up against the castle wall of the isolated hallway, "I get to kiss you whenever I want, don't I?"

She bit her lip, the pink dusting her cheeks in a surprise attack whilst her heart hammered against her chest, her eyes bore into his, the perfect colour that they were that she now seemed to get lost in, and silently, she nodded, her eyes unable to stop as they trailed to his lips, and soon, they were on hers once again.

-

"You look awfully happy," Adria commented from Sirius' bed, her notebook resting against her knees and her back resting against Sirius' chest. Her eyes had trailed to the door when it opened, revealing James with a smile so wide she was sure it was going to break his face, but with a shrug of the boy's shoulders he continued to hum the tune of a song he had heard play from Remus' muggle thing which he had forgotten the name of.

"I am very happy, Adria Belle Hopkins," James grinned, turning to her with bright eyes and a laugh escaping his lips, "thank you for noticing."

The boy took a seat on his bed, swaying to the music that played whilst he hummed the tune himself, he didn't know the song itself but Remus had played it so many times that he was sure to know how it went, and he did.

He had a lovely day spent with his Lily, and the fact that his friends couldn't tease him about it was always an added bonus.

Although part of him wanted to scream it from the astronomy tower, that she was finally his in some way. They hadn't exactly made it official to each other, hadn't spoken the words that clasped her name around his heart and vice versa, but Lily Evans name had already tattooed onto James' heart whether she liked it or not.

And merlin she did like it.

It all happened so suddenly, a few days after she had hugged him did she realise that his touch was all she wanted, that her slight crush on what he could be was something much more, and it both terrified her and slightly excited her.

So on the day after that, when she was alone and he came up to her, a smirk on his lips as he teased her about their encounter did she just do it, did she just grab his shirt and kissed him like it was the last thing she have got to do.

And merlin was he happy that he teased her.

"I don't like this," Sirius whispered in Adria's ear, frowning slightly, "I mean, it's fine when he's happy, but he's too happy."

"I agree," Adria nodded, turning to face Sirius, "it's odd."

"We need to do something," Sirius mumbled, "we can figure out why another time, but we need to bring him down to normal levels."

"How do you suppose we do that?" she asked, turning slightly to eye James that was on his bed, singing softly to himself and laughing occasionally as he done so, he was completely delirious by the looks of things, and it was just all around odd for the four in the room with him if they where honest.

"I'm not sure," Sirius frowned, pressing a kiss to her cheek before sitting up.

Adria thought for a moment, partly because she wanted to know what got James so happy, he was a naturally cheery person, usually always with a smirk or smile evident on his features, and always did he make sure to joke around as though it was his job, he just liked to make people happy, but overly happy was the state he was in right now, and it was definitely weird.

"I've got it," Adria announced quietly, the plan she had thought of so suddenly had a tiny chance of working, but she really hoped it did, "I know what'll bring him back."

"What do you have, agent?" Sirius teased, earning an eye roll from Adria who closed her notebook.

"Throw this at him," she ordered, watching his eyes widen, he shook his head, pushing Adria's hand away that held her notebook filled with poems.

"Ads, we want to get him calm, not injured," she rolled her eyes as she thrusted the book into his hand.

"That's not what's going to calm him, Sirius," she scoffed, gesturing to the book, "just throw it!" her voice was a little too loud, attracting the attention of Remus who looked more than confused but Adria merely smiled at him with a wink, her head nodding to James whilst Remus rolled his eyes, earning a giggle from Adria whilst he laughed.

"Fine," Sirius huffed, aiming the book at James, it whacked him straight in the stomach, the two watched his eyes widen as he jumped, ending up on the floor with a thud. Adria had a hard time stopping her giggles, and made sure to supress her urge to jump up and help him and watched as he struggled to get up, and finally as he did, managed to stub his toe in the process.

"Oh fuc- oh my god, are you fucking serious?!" James groaned, gripping his foot as he jumped around the floor of the dormitory, groans of pain erupting from his lips.

Without fail, the smirk on Adria's lips widened as she shared a quick look with Sirius before turning to James and speaking, "well as a matter of fact I a-"

"What?!" James screeched, his eyes wide as he turned to her cutting her off in the process, his mouth opening and closing as though he was going to speak but no words came out, "I don't want to hear it, I don't want to hear it, I don't want to hear it!" he repeated over and over, his leg falling to the floor when he clasped his hands over his ears.

Adria was almost on the floor as she laughed, tears almost spilling from her eyes at his reaction and Sirius couldn't help but laugh himself, shaking his head as he clapped his hands that her plan worked, "I liked that," he smirked as he whispered in her ear, watching as she turned to look at him whilst the giggles continued to fall from her lips.

"I think it worked," she gestured to James, shaking his head furiously on his bed and still clutching his foot. Occasionally he would look over at the two resting on Sirius' bed, see his arm wrapped around her tightly and with a shiver and a furious shake of his head would he turn and look away, which ended up the two on that bed would burst into another fit of laughter.

Remus, on his own bed couldn't help but laugh at James' reaction, but only since he knew it was a joke - or well, he bloody well hoped she was joking - she was his sister, technically, and she was far too young for that type of stuff, well to him.

And Peter, well Peter was just all around confused by the whole ordeal.

"I'm sorry, Jamesy," Adria grinned, pushing herself out of Sirius' grip and over to James bed where she wrapped her arms around him, trying to suppress her laughter, "did I traumatise you, poor boy?"

"Where you kidding, Ads, please tell me you where kidding?" he frowned, wrapping his arms around her waist whilst she ran a hand comfortingly through his hair, nodding her head as she done so.

"Yes, James, I was kidding," she spoke reassuringly, patting his head whilst Sirius scoffed, earning a glare from Adria who picked up a pillow and threw it at him.

"Hey I wasn't the one that said it," Sirius teased, his smirk wide as he winked at her, earning a scowl as she hugged James tighter.
