Third-person POV

Blood started the flow out of Hinata's mouth. He shakily touched himself to feel the blood. He started to feel a clog in his throat. He was about the throw up. He looked around impatiently, looking for his phone. He nearly dropped it, barely catching himself. 4 AM...

Hinata basically threw his phone onto the table, making a loud bang, waking someone up...

Daichi's POV

I woke up to a bang, and I had no idea what it was. As I sat up, I saw a phone dribbling itself across the table, along with small, quick footsteps. I looked around. Everyone was still asleep, and everyone- Wait, Hinata! I thought in realization. I quickly looked at my phone charging besides me. 4 AM. What was he doing this early? Oh right! Didn't he say he had a cough? He did say that he might wake us up at night, But... since it's just a cough, why would he go to the bathroom? Unless he's just using the bathroom. I'm probably overthinking this, but I wanna make sure he's okay.

I walk into the hallway to hear the bathroom door shut. That was pretty aggressive... I walked up to the door, and before knocking, I put my ear to the door, so I could get the idea of what was happening.

I heard rustling, and muffled coughs, like he was covering his mouth whilst coughing.

"Damn it..." I heard him say quietly. My eyes widened slightly. He wasn't one to swear often. "Why did I have to fall asleep on him..." I had no idea who he was talking about, but he was angry enough to swear. I heard him push the toilet seat up, and I'm guessing he uncovered his mouth since the coughs were loud and clear. I heard stuff fall into the toilet, which was strange. I thought it was only a cough? This is when I decided to check on him.

"Hey, Hinata? What's going on in there?" I knocked softly, consisting of three taps. I tried to speak at a low enough volume to where he could only hear me. I heard him swear something under his breath once again and slam the toilet cover closed.

"Hey... Um, D-Don't worry! It's just a cough!" He tried to justify. I just rolled my eyes knowing it wasn't just "a cough".

"I know you're lying, Hinata. It doesn't sound like a cough." I tried to say assertively. I heard him sigh. "Just go away, Daichi." This made me frown. I hate when he does this. He knows that I think of him as my son, so he really thinks "go away" is going to work? Sorry to disappoint.

"I'm coming in." I said, unlocking the door. I heard a small gasp and, "No, Daichi! Wai-" But before he could finish, I was already in there.

Blood. Everywhere.

"H-Hinata?!" I questioned while turning my head, side to side, letting my eyes view this mess. When I walked in, I saw Hinata hide something behind his back I couldn't see. "Daichi! I can explain!" I furrowed my eyebrows at the response. Classic. "What is there to explain?! This isn't just a cough!" I looked Hinata dead in the eye, but I couldn't help but soften when I saw his face. His eyes were widened in fear, and his movement showed worry. His eyes were swollen. I'm assuming he was crying.

"D-Daichi... P-please... Lower your voice, I really do-" He said, lowering his own voice. But he couldn't finish his sentence since a groggy voice came walking in.

"Hey, what's going..." The boy's voice trailed off as he stopped rubbing his eyes and peeled his eyes open. Nishinoya. I saw a wave of relief wash over Hinata's face. I thought he didn't want anyone to come in...?

"Daichi! Shoyo! Um..." He took a glance at the blood covered toilet, as if he was just being made of the situation. He quickly went over to Hinata and looked at him for confirmation of whatever he was about to say. Hinata exhaled slowly and nodded.

"Daichi... Hinata has, uh..." He stopped to look at Hinata one more time. Hinata had a sad smile and put his hand on Noya's shoulder.

"I... I...!" He struggled to get the words out of his mouth. "Um..." He continued to stutter. I could tell by the profuse sweating and large gulps he was taking every two seconds, he had hundreds of thoughts running through his head. Come on, Hinata. I can't handle the suspense here...

"It's strept t-throat! Mmhm! It... recently got infected, c...causing me to cough blood." He was sweating a river, and Noya was doing nothing but staring at him sympathetically. If it was just strept throat, why did they make such a big deal over it? "Oh, okay then... H-hope you get better..." And I left those two in the bathroom at that, but I couldn't help but listen to their conversation after I left.

Hinata's POV

"Why didn't you tell him, Shoyo?" Noya said as he started to help clean the blood up. I sighed as I threw away a handfull of petals I was hiding behind my back from Daichi. Honestly, I don't know why I didn't...

"I'm not sure, Noya... I guess I just didn't want anyone else to know. I mean, you weren't even supposed to know." I said, hoping I didn't come off as rude. I mean, I'm not trying to say that he shouldn't have known, He just wasn't going to know. Noya was gonna respond when there was a ding from my pocket. I set my rag soaked with blood down and pulled out my phone.

So I heard your conversation with daichi

Shit.

"Who's that, Shoyo?" Noya walked over. It took me a few seconds to reply since I forgot that I named him that in my contact "It's Kageyama... saying he heard our conversation with Daichi..." Noya's eyes widened. "WHAT?! I mean... what?" He laughed nervously. "Well, just ask him what he wants or something." I moved my fingers across the keyboard.

What abt it?

The loveliest πŸ’•

Why didnt u tell me? Ur literally coughing blood, thats kinda serious

My face turned a bright shade of red at the thought of him worrying about me. "Woah, you're as bright as a tomato. What'd he say?" Noya said. I completely forgot he was there and slightly winced when he spoke. "H-He asked why I didn't tell him 'cause coughing blood is serious..." I said softly. I heard him gasp a little. "Ooooo! Someone's worried about your sorry ass!" That little comment made me laugh and go even more red. "Haha, shut up Noya!" With that we stopped chatting so I could continue talking to Kageyama.

Sho-chan <3

I didnt think u worried bout me. Thanks Kageyama! But its ok. Its just an infected strept throat. It wont hurt

The loveliest πŸ’•

But thats the thing, it will hurt. I dont want u to hurt

My face was blushing at 247264829484 degrees. He doesn't want me to get hurt! That thought replayed in my head over and over again until Noya snapped me out of it.

"Well? What did he say?" I was too flustered to even speak. I just showed him what I said and Kageyama's reply. "He doesn't... Holy shi- He cares about you?!" I just nodded excitedly. "M...Maybe this stupid disease will go away..."
