"Nells, what you doin' here?" Damitri asked when he opened the door. Arnell could hear people chatting on the other side. It was most likely his annoying ass friends.

"I told you that I was comin' over." She told him.

"Damn, I left my phone upstairs." He said, still in the door way.

"Soo, you gonna let me in?" He looked as if he was contemplating whether or not he wanted to.

"Uh, yeah." He said moving to the side. Arnell slid passed him and entered the house.

Like she suspected, his house was filled with his dope friends that she couldn't stand. They were in the process of making and preparing drugs in his house like it was nothing.

"Hi, T-Bone." Arnell smiled. He was the only one there that she actually liked.

"Aye, wassup, Arnell?" T-Bone said. She was going to reply to him, when Damitri came up behind her and placed his hand on her back. "Can you go upstairs until I'm finished?" He whispered into her ear. Arnell nodded and made her way to the stairs.

"Aye, I seen you at the mall today." One of his friends smirked as she passed him.

Whoopty fuckin' doo. Wanna cookie? She thought.

"Okay?" She replied.

"Yeah, you was all in some lightskin nigga face in the Foot Locker." He replied. He was weighing and tying up bags.

No, this negro didn't. She thought.

He was making it seem like she was cheating on Damitri or something. Arnell hated when a nigga spoke on a situation that they didn't know shit about. It would definitely start something between her and Damitri because he was the jealous type.

"What the hell he talkin' about?" Damitri asked walking over to her.

Here we go. She rolled her eyes.

"Nothin." Arnell shot back.

"I'll deal with you later." Damitri said sounding angry.

"Nah, we can deal with this now, because nothin' happened."

His snitching ass friend began to snicker. Arnell shot her eyes at him. She wanted to know what the hell he was laughing at. "Damn, Meech. You gone let her talk to you like that?"

"Fuck you mean is he gone 'let me'?" Arnell asked while placing her hand on her hip. "Meech ain't lettin' me do shit. This my mouth that I'm in Control of." Damitri pushed Arnell into the direction of the stairs.

"Nells, take yo ass upstairs." He said with a warning tone. Arnell did just that, making her way to his room.

On her way there, she saw Blue coming out of the bathroom. She laughed when she passed Arnell. The girl looked high off her ass. She could barely walk straight. Arnell shook her head and kept walking to Damitri's room.

It was hours later and Arnell was sitting on the bed playing Maggie in pool. Damitri tried opening the door, but she had locked it.

"Open the damn door, Nells." He warned. She hopped off the bed and unlocked the door, but she didn't open it. He walked in and Arnell could already tell that they were about to start arguing. She lied back on the bed without saying a word.

"Why the hell you come over here with a damn attitude?" He questioned. "Want me to take you home?"

"No." She shook her head.

"What is yo problem?"

"I didn't have one until ya friend started comin' at me sideways like I'm some ho."

"I don't know why you let him get you riled up like that. You know he talk shit." Damitri said. "But, who was the nigga AJ seen you wit?" She rolled her eyes.

"Oh my damn, you still pressed about what his dumbass said?" She said standing up. She looked up at Damitri who towered over her.

"Who. Is. He?" He asked, pausing between each word. Arnell knew whenever he did that, he was being dead serious.

"Trinity." She simply said.

"Who?"

"Exactly, no one. He said hi, I said hi back. End of the fuckin' story." She said kicking off her shoes.

"Watch yo mouth, lil girl." He said pushing her down on the bed.

"I ain't gotta watch shit, lil boy." She shot back. "And keep your hands off me."

"Shut up. I barely touched you." He said before plopping down next to her. "You gonna tell me what happened?"

"I told you noth--"

"That's not what I meant. I meant with Anthony or August or whoever got you mad that you runnin' over here in the middle of the night." Damitri said.

"It's just that they been actin' weird and shit. It's startin' to piss me off." She told him. "And I come over here, thinkin' I can talk to you and you won't even let me inside."

"It's not like that. I'm doin' business here until I get another stash house because I can't use any of the old ones. I don't trust Dorian's ass." He explained. "I just don't want you around all that shit."

Arnell sighed. "Damitri, I knew what you did before we were even together. Nah, I don't like it but it is what it is." She told him. "I'm not goin' to sit here and complain like I wasn't aware before I got with you." She got up and began stripping off all her clothes. She walked over to dresser and took out one of Damitri's shirts. "Why was Blue here?" Arnell asked. "She was actin' hella weird, runnin' into walls and shit."

"Blue a damn coke head." Damitri shook his head. "But I guess she talkin' to one of my boys." Arnell got into the bed and began flipping through channels on the television. "Let's go out tomorrow." Damitri suggested. He was lying in her lap, tapping away on his phone.

"After school?"

"Skip." He shrugged. Arnell shook her head. That wasn't even an option. She skipped enough school behind him. They finally got settled down and were almost asleep when they heard someone banging on the door. "Ughhhh." Damitri groaned.

"I'll get it." She said. Damitri lifted up so Arnell could slide from under him. She made her way down the steps and to the front door. "Who is it?" She called out. The person didn't reply. She smacked her lips and got on her tippy toes to see who it was. Damitri jogged down the stairs and made his way over to her.

"Who is it?" He asked.

She shrugged. "Didn't get a good look."

He unlocked the door and swung it open. "What the hell you doin' here?" He asked. Arnell couldn't see who it was because she was on the other side of him.

"I need your help." Tasia said barging into the house.

"How bout I help yo ass to the door?" Arnell said. Damitri threw his arm in front of her so she couldn't take anymore steps towards Tasia.

Tasia rolled her eyes and ignored Arnell. "Meech, I'm serious. You told me that if I stayed from the south side that I'd be safe. But them niggas still comin' after me."

"When I said that?" Damitri asked. "I suggested you stay from the south side cause Quentin still mad about whatever you did to him. But you, ain't my problem."

"They are tryin' to kill me, Damitri." Tasia stated again. Arnell just sat back and listened.

"Not. My. Problem." He repeated. "And if you gone die, please do it somewhere else." He said, guiding her to the door. He slammed it once she was outside.

Arnell lowkey felt bad for the girl. "Damn, could you have been any colder?" Arnell said once Tasia was gone.

"From day one, all she ever did was talk shit to you, don't start defending her ass now." He said while locking the door up.

"I'm not. She seemed genuinely scared." Arnell replied.

"Look, whatever happened between her and Quentin, is her business. I just got him off my back what makes you think Ima jump into some shit again?" He asked. "What I look like, witness protection? The only reason why I agreed to help her out the first time was because she was giving me info, but you see where that got us." Damitri shook his head. "Tasia on her own." He shrugged.

"I know, but that doesn't mean she deserves to die."

"I know what I'm doin', Arnell. I don't need you to tell me shit about shit."

She threw her hands up. "Okay. Whatever."

Arnell and Damitri went back upstairs and went back to sleep.

TASIA

Tasia pulled up into Dorian's driveway and cut off her car. She checked her surroundings before jogging up the stairs. She nervously knocked on the door.

"What?!" Terry yelled while opening the door.

"Where's D?" She asked. She kept looking behind her to see if she had been followed.

"He's busy." He shot back.

"It's important." Tasia said.

"What you want?" Dorian asked while reaching the door. "I'm pretty sure yo boy Meech ain't gone appreciate you over here talkin' to me."

"I need your help."ย  She said.

"Keep talkin'." He told her. He let her inside and closed the door behind her.

"Since you beefin' with the same people who are tryin' to kill me, I was wonderin' if you could offer me some protection."

"What's in it for me?" Dorian smirked.

"I'll tell you everything you wanna know about our little... friend."

NEXT DAY

Arnell was waiting outside of the school for Damitri to come pick her up. She noticed Anthony coming out of the school so she started up a conversation. "Hey, Anthony--"

"I'm sorry, I'm in a rush." He said cutting her off. "Talk to you later." He jogged over to his car.

"I was just askin' if you knew where August was, you fuckin' dickhead!" She yelled. August hadn't been answering her calls or texts.

"I love you!" He called out as he left. Arnell rolled her eyes and sat down on the steps leading up to the school.

Damitri finally showed up. Arnell threw her back pack in the back seat once she got into the car. "Where to?" He asked.

"T.G.I. Friday's." Arnell said. "Ten dollar appetizers." She was starving. She couldn't stand eating the school lunches.

"Leggo." Damitri said while tapping the steering wheel. When they got there, Arnell quickly hopped out and headed for the door. There was so many people going in and she wanted to get a table.

"Bae, hold my hand." Damitri said once he caught up with Arnell.

"Hold yo hand? Since when do you wanna hold hands?"

"Since all these hoes lookin' at me like I'm single." He replied.

Arnell looked around and laughed. He could be so goofy sometimes. "Baby, ain't nobody lookin' at you."

"You don't see 'em, but I do." He shot back.

She shook her head and walked up to the front desk. "Table for two." Arnell said.

"That'll be a twenty minute wait, is that fine?" The lady asked. Arnell nodded. "What's the name?"

"Arnell."

"Told you, Nells. That waitress was undressing me with her eyes and shit." He told her.

"Damitri, ain't nobody worried about yo ugly ass." Arnell replied. He smacked his lips.

They only had to wait about ten minutes before a waiter sat them down. He handed them their menus and took their drink orders before leaving.

"Is that Anthony?" Damitri asked. Arnell turned around. It wasn't just Anthony, it was April and August as well. They all went out to eat and didn't think to hit her up.

"Damn, Nells. You didn't have to ditch them. If they were going out to eat, you should've went." Damitri told her.

"I didn't know they were going out." Arnell told him.

"Aw, damn. That's foul." He shook his head.

Arnell got up and walked over to their table. Whatever they were hiding from her, she could no longer act as if she didn't care.

"Wassup, guys." She said. Everyone at the table was completely frozen. "Don't worry. I'm not hurt at all by the fact that you guys have been sneakin' around for the past couple of weeks and having sibling bonding time without me." She said. "Not hurt at all." Anthony opened his mouth to say something. "Shut the fuck up." She raged. She didn't even allow him to get one word out.

"Aight, Nell. Ima tell you somethin', but you have to be cool about it." August said.

"The hell are you talkin' about?"

"Hey, Arnell." She heard a soothing voice say. Everyone's eyes were now looking passed her. Arnell turned to see what they were staring at.

"Mom?" Arnell looked back at her siblings. Everyone's eyes were back onto her. A million things were racing through her mind. What the hell was going on?
