Arnell had been living with Jada no with no problem. She was going back out of town, but this time, she was leaving her car with Jada. Arnell was pretty excited about that.

It was Saturday and they had the day planned. Arnell and Jada decided to go to the movies.

"That movie was so lame girl." Jada scoffed while throwing away her cup. They left the theater and made their way to the car.

"Let's go to the basketball court." Jada suggested buckling her seat belt.

Arnell furrowed her eyebrows. "For what?"

"I wanna see my baby." She sang.

"Who?"

"I'm not finna play with you." Jada said with a little attitude.

"You just got so man girl, I need to know which one." Arnell joked.

"Dorian." Jada rolled her eyes.

When they arrived, Dorian was talking to a girl and you could see Jada become pissed. Arnell didn't understand why. They weren't even dating, barely even talking. Arnell kept walking to get a seat on the bleachers. She watched as Jada confronted the poor girl. She probably was clueless.

"D, who this is hoe?!"

"Bye, Jada." Dorian dismissed her.

Arnell shook her head. She didn't understand why Jada was getting so caught up behind him.

"Hey." Arnell heard a familiar voice say.

She turned around and it was Shaydon. Arnell rolled her eyes and got up to leave. She hadn't even talked to him since Amani's little break down.

"Don't be like that." He begged while holding her wrist.

Arnell snatched her arm away from him. Arnell already knew there was nothing he could say to change what happened.

"I just want to talk. Will you please listen?"

Arnell sat back down.

"I'm sorry, aight?"

"You already said that, remember?" She said amused.

"I've known you since third grade, you really want to throw that away?" He questioned.

Arnell couldn't help but laugh out loud at his comment. It's like he was trying to make it seem like it was her fault that they fell off but in reality, it was all him.

"I don't have time for you, Shaydon. I gotta go."

"You mean to tell me that you don't feel the same way?" Shaydon asked.

"What way? What are you talking about??" Arnell asked.

"Don't play." He said seriously. "You know that I got a thing for you. I always have."

Arnell furrowed her eyebrows. She was wondering where all of this was coming from. She always thought he may have a little crush on her, but nothing that serious.

"Why are you telling me this?"

Shaydon shook his head and looked away. When he looked back up, he sighed and shrugged.

"What do you mean you don't know?" She asked.

He opened his mouth to talk but Jada stomped over to them.

"Arnell, I'm ready to go. Dorian playin'." Jada scoffed.

Arnell was not ready to go. She was going to finish this conversation one way or another.

"I think I'm going to stay." She stated looking at Shaydon. He sat next to her, staring down at his shoes.

"What you mean you gone stay? Who taking you home, cause I ain't coming back later." Jada sassed.

Arnell rolled her eyes at Jada. She was really getting on her nerves.

"Shaydon will take me, right?" She said turning to him.

He gave her a feeble smile and just nodded his head.

"Uh, you sure?" Jada asked eying Shaydon.

"I said I'd take her, damn" Shaydon blurted out.

"Ew, attitude." Jada said walking away.

"Wassup with yo friend?" Shaydon asked.

Arnell shook her head. Jada was just being salty because Dorian dissed her ass.

"Let's go for a walk." Arnell insisted holding out her hand. Shaydon accepted it and they began walking.

*

Arnell turned the key in the lock and opened the door. She fell onto the couch and sighed.

The conversation she had with Shaydon couldn't have been any more awkward. He basically confessed his love for her. Arnell couldn't even deny she kind of had a thing for him as well.

"Arnell, is that you?"

"Yes ma'am." Arnell answered.

Jada's mom came into the living room and sat next to Arnell. Arnell loved Jada's Mom.

"How long you staying?" Arnell asked sitting up.

"Not long, I'm leaving tonight."

Arnell nodded her head. She never stayed in town for too long. Just a couple of days and then she was on her way again.

"Where's Jada?" Arnell asked.

Mrs. Givens dropped her head and sighed. "She's locked up there in her room."

Jada usually gave her mom a hard time. Arnell couldn't understand why. She was such a sweet lady.

"I made tacos." Jada's mom said smiling.

Arnell helped Mrs. Givens set the table. She couldn't remember the last time she had a meal around a table as a family. At home every ate in their rooms, separately.

Jada came down from her room and entered the dining area. She rolled her eyes at the sight of her mom and Arnell comversing. She grabbed her plate, and started to leave.

"Where are you going?" Her mother asked her.

"To my room." Jada shot back.

Mrs. Givens sighed which made Arnell feel bad.

After dinner, Arnell helped Mrs. Givens clean up. When they were finished, she headed up to Jada's room.

Jada was on her bed, she still had a damn attitude. Arnell shook her head and sat on the edge of the bed.

"I think you really hurt your Mom's feelings." Arnell stated.

Jada furrowed her eyebrows and folded her arm. "What's it to you?" She spat back.

"Damn, Jada. I'm just saying, it's your Mom's last day in town. She just wanted to spend time with your mean ass." Arnell shot back."

"Look, just because you got mommy issues, doesn't mean you get to tell me how to treat mine." Jada raised her voice.

"And just because Dorian dumped your ass, doesn't give you any reason to be a Bitch."

Arnell left Jada's room and slammed the door behind her.

Jada must have lost her mind. She knew damn well not to bring up her mom. That was just hitting below the belt. All because of some dick. She and Dorian weren't even dating.

"Everything alright?" Mrs. Givens called out.

"Yes, I'm just going to walk to the store." Arnell said grabbing her wallet out of her purse.

She walked across the street to the convenient store. She picked up Oreos, Hot Cheetos, and an Arizona Tea.

When she got to the counter, she tried scrambled up some change.

"I got you, shawty."

Arnell turned and Damitri was standing there with a stupid grin on his face. He slid a twenty on the counter.

"I had it." Arnell mumbled.

She grabbed her bag of snacks  off of the counter and hand Damitri the rest of his change. He nodded and stuffed it in his pocket.

"Thank you." She simply said while leaving. She felt his eyes on her as she walked out of the store.

Arnell rolled her eyes when she saw Jada on the porch. She crossed the street and walked up the driveway.

"I'm soo sorry!" Jada cried out. "I didn't mean anything that I said."

"Okay Jada." Arnell simply said. "Let's just forget about it?"

Jada nodded her head and went inside. Arnell said she wanted to forget about it, but the truth was, she could never forgive Jada for her outburst.
