Back to Kira's POV

Seeing his mom seems like a huge step or rather a drastic one cause he hasn't even asked me to be his girlfriend yet that's if this thing isn't a fling right.
In as much as l want to go on dates, l had a baby and that's my joy to carry around l have to make sure whatever l want to do fits in my schedule and Kayla's.

By the way l was feeling much better by the way and I was waiting for Chris nervously to come pick me up after picking Kayla. I fell like this is normal that if he leaves my life l might just lose it somehow.

As normal he pecks my lips to greet me and guess what he has a new baby sit in the car, he just returned mine in the car.
Can he really leave.

Sometimes in life you should focus on what is and stop wasting time on thinking how things should be. I listened to Kayla's stories and Chris as they conversed. He pulls up at a mansion if you ask me honestly,l knew they had money but not to amount of money.

"Mommy look. It's beautiful."

"I know monkey it's very beautiful." I smile at her.

Chris beats me to it, he opens my door and then removes Kayla from the sit and l followed behind.

"She doesn't bite." He assures me.

After entering in the house he shouts Mom and Dad to acknowledge his presence known, how much l miss that. I was totally marveling the stair well and the lounge and did l mentioned they had a crystal chandeliers hanging in the middle of the house. Rich people things l gotta say but Chris never showed it that way.

"In the kitchen." The mom shouts back.

Giving the chandelier and the stair case another glance l followed him to the kitchen.

"Hey mom." He kisses her cheek as she was cutting carrots and made his way to the fridge.

Wiping her hands

"Hey, you must the famous qKira." She greets me

Note when some says, the, famous before saying your name and you have never met gotta out a high standard cause they have heard only about your good sides.

"Hello ma'am." I offered my hands

"Drop the formalities. Come here."

She gestures for a hug and I saw Chris leaning on the counter at the far end and looking the situation and he smiled at me with that
'I told you she would like you face.'
How much l miss to be in my mother's arms again.

"And now that pretty beautiful girl must be Kayla." She looks at Kayla sitting on one of the stools.

"Hello. Mrs-" she pauses not knowing what to say like l told her.

"Call me Alice, anything you want as long as it's not Mrs Pierce. I a, not that old am l." She asks

"You are beautiful." Kayla assures her.

"That's the kind of energy l need around me not Chris who's always reminding me of how old l am."

"Chris you wouldn't do that. She's a beautiful woman." I say holding my heart in gesture

He shrugs it off and Alice starts to talk to Kayla and she was good with her and maybe the reason why Kayla warmed up to her so fast and easily it's because she is Chris' mom.

"I will leave you ladies to do whatever you do."

He walks towards me and the last thing l wanted for him was to kiss me infront of his mom and l looked at him skeptically trying to show him it's inappropriate but he smirks and l could see that mischief going in his eyes. He wouldn't dare,

Why the hell am l not moving right now.

And my own body has decided to rebel against his great, he leans in and placed a rather a long sloppy peck, winks

"Bye. Loosen up." He whispers

He kisses Kayla on the kiss and he leaves me with his mom, don't know if the silence was comfortable or awkward l couldn't wrap my finger around it. When l need Kayla to break the ice and bring her story telling self it's like as if she's on lockdown.

"You have a beautiful house l must say." I state.

"Oh thank you very much. Didn't like it at first cause it didn't have that home atmosphere in but l just learnt

"Home is what you make it." We said at the same time and we both laugh

I wash my hands and help Kayla as well cause she likes helping me in the kitchen as well. And it was happening all natural, Alice points to the drawer with aprons and said something like

"Wouldn't want a pretty lady like you messing up their clothes now would we."

Kayla passing the vegetables that needed to be cut and l helped check the pots, she was cooking a normal home cooked meal, macaroni cheese with savory mince with mixed vegetables at the side. Anyone can tell she is a healthy freak no wonder she went to medical school.

This whole scene and scenario just started to dig up past l didn't want to see ,it was always me and my mom preparing food as we talk and l had always imagined how it would look like when it's mother, daughter with granddaughter and right now l was having this moment with a guys mom.

Breaking me from my train of thoughts

"Kira you okay honey." Alice's warm voice asks

"Oh yes l am okay. I was just reminded of something." I mention

"It's okay. We will talk about it when you ready okay."

Camila later arrives and was happy to see me and Alice was all jealous no why met me before her.

"You brought Kayla well."

"I am trying." I nervously laugh

"I would have done such an amazing job at your age. I mean just look at her, she's respectful , she's helpful and she's happy doesn't let anything around her affect her."

"Thank you really."

"I am happy Chris was wise enough to see you instead."

Later on the day, Chris returns from training with Jose that means El was studying for her coming tests. Jose looks like a part of the family and was pretty much not shocked to see me cause he said something like.

"It's about time."

Someone running was heard coming towards the kitchen as l sat on the stool near the island while l talk to Alice, Kayla was watching cartoons in the lounge .

"Thank God she hasn't left." I heard a breathless deep voice say.

"Oh hello Sir." I stand to greet him offering my hand.

"Gimme a moment."

He places his briefcase down, places his hand on the wall to catch a breath and Alice offered a glass of water which he gulped down. After about two minutes he stands straight

"Hello Kira. I hope l didn't give you scare l just needed to be in my right senses as l will never get a chance like this to meet the celebrity of this house."

The beating of my heart subsided as a smile made a way to my lips. He pulls me in for a hug and if you had asked me in the morning if l was looking forward to this l would have said no but now all l can say is l hope this lasts forever.

Nothing lasts forever   My subconscious mind state.
