A high pitch sound woke him up from his sleep. The first thing Jungkook did was to cover his ears and glare at the owner of the sound. The girl giggled at his reaction.

"Why the hell are you shouting?" he asked in irritation.

"Don't sleep all day like this. You'll become lazy," the girl said, glaring at her elder brother.

The latter rolled his eyes and turned to the other side. "OPPA!" Junghee shouted in his ears again, making him throw whatever he found first on her face.

"AAH– wait, this is so cute. I'm taking this with me," she said, squeezing the plush in her arms.

"NO!" Jungkook turned around but it was already late.

The girl was already out of the room. "That's mine," Jungkook pouted and grabbed the basket his sister left for him.

Again, fruits. "Banana," he sighed and pushed the basket away.

The very moment, the door opened revealing an unexpected person. "Doctor?" A wide smile instantly formed on his face. He was happy seeing her there.

Jihyun waved at her patient and walked in. "How's my patient doing?" she asked and her first duty was to check if everything was okay with his leg.

"I saw your sister running with your sleeping partner," Jihyun said, leaving him in confusion.

Upon hearing her words, for a moment, he thought that she was talking about Minsu but later, he got it.

"Your patient has a name, so you should ask, 'how's my Jungkook doing?'" he said, pressing his lips in a thin line.

No response from her and he noticed that she seemed tired. "Are you tried? Come sleep with me." He pulled her on the bed.

Jihyun was too tired to even move, so she chose to lie beside him. "Jungkook," she called his name.

"I missed you," she blurted out but regretted the next moment when she noticed a smirk across his face.

"I–"

"My mom wasn't sick," she cut him off. "I didn't even meet her when I left the house in the morning–" she choked on her saliva.

Tears started to well up in her eyes but she tried her best to hold back. Jungkook noticed it and pulled her into his embrace.

A hug was what she needed right now, so she hugged him back. No wonder why she felt safe in his arms.

"Your hair smells good. What shampoo do you use?" he asked, making her giggle.

Suddenly, the door opened and his eyes shifted towards the door, resulting the pair to widen. Jihyun was still in his arms while the person on the door was shocked.

The person closed the door, but in a few seconds, his phone started buzzing. Jihyun broke the hug and grabbed the phone since it was near to her.

"Minho," she said after she saw the caller id and handed it to him.

Jungkook gulped. It was from her and she just saw them together, so he rejected the call.

Sweats started dripping down his forehead but he made the nervousness less obvious. Thank god, Jihyun got a call and soon she left the room.

A message popped on his phone screen.

Minho

- i'm waiting for you in the backyard

Jungkook sighed. He had no other option than to go and meet her.

In the backyard, she was standing there, crossing her arms over her chest. He nervously walked to her using his crutches.

"What's going on between you two?" Minsu asked and bit her lips, trying to calm her anger.

An obvious lie. "Nothing," Jungkook said. "Stop lying please," she pleaded him.

Her eyes were already teary. Tears were near to fall off those eyes.

"Okay then listen. There is nothing going on between me and Jihyun as well as you and me." He finally said it.

"What?" she asked in a whisper.

Finally, those tears betrayed her and rolled down her cheeks. Jungkook wasn't affected at all since this was not the first time for him.

"You are the one who assumed things." He pointed at her.

"Your actions made me assume things." She scoffed.

"Oh well. I can't help you with that–"

A hard slap landed on his left cheek and there was a long silence, except those sobs were audible.

"How many girls have you played with? I'm sure you lost the count, right?" she asked, but no response from him.

"I won't let you play with her. I'll tell her everything." She gave a forced smirk.

Pain could be clearly felt behind that smirk. Jungkook suddenly pulled her closer to him and gripped her left arm tightly.

"I dare you to tell her. I guess you don't love your job." He smirked.

Minsu finally pushed him away from her and escaped from his grip. "That's all you can do, right? You rich brat." She walked away, holding her arm which was aching because of his tight grip.

Jungkook simply shrugged off and walked back to his room.

On the bed, he could only change the positions from one to another. "How many meetings do you have in a day, Jihyun?" He nagged to himself.

With the help of crutches, he walked to the window and stared outside. Down there, he noticed two familiar figures talking to each other.

"J-Jihyun?"

A strange fear appeared inside him seeing her with Minsu. Never had he ever felt this kind of fear. He was the one who believed in; if one goes, another comes.

This feeling was new for him.

Immediately, he called his doctor.
"Jihyun, my leg–" He purposely hung up the call.

Resting his cheek on the palm, he watched her panicking and departing from Minsu until she entered the building.

After she was nowhere in the sight, Jungkook went to his bed and sat there like a good child.

Soon enough, Jihyun barged in. "What happened?" she asked worriedly.

Jungkook made an innocent face and pointed at his leg before speaking.

"My leg is missing you."
