HIS job was done inside the restroom, so Jungkook walked out only to find his doctor already gone from the room. With the help of crutches, he walked back to his bed and sat there.

Not even for a second, he wanted to be left alone. He dialed her number and waited for her to answer the call. Jihyun answered the call.

"Where did you go?" he asked her.

"Dr. Choi's office," she spoke from the other line.

"Okay, come fast." He hung up the call.

Even after waiting for half an hour, she still wasn't back. He called her again, but this time she rejected the call.

"Why did you reject my call?" It made him angry.

Since he could already walk by himself with the help of crutches, he decided to go and search for her. Also, he wanted to breathe the fresh air outside.

Slowly, he walked through the hallways and went towards Dr. Choi's office. He peeked inside and he could only see Dr. Choi.

"Where is Jihyun?" Jungkook asked.

"She already left. Didn't she come to your room?," Dr. Choi asked.

"No." Jungkook shook his head.

Wondering where did she go, Jungkook decided to walk back to his room, in case she was already back.

On the way, he saw a way to terrace and decided to go there. He was about to walk out when he noticed a familiar female figure with a guy.

"Jihyun?" He narrowed his eyes and tried to recognize the figure from behind.

Soon her side profile was visible and Jungkook became sure that it was her. The guy she was talking with was none other than the doctor from that day.

Dr. Kang.

"This is the reason you rejected my call?" He mumbled to himself and walked back to his room.

There he waited, waited and waited but she didn't come. Inside his mind, the only thing repeating was, Jihyun rejected his call because of Dr. Kang.

The rejection was what he always hated.

While waiting for her, he slowly drifted off to sleep.

Meanwhile, Jihyun was talking about her past case with Dr. Kang when she got a call. She thought it was a call from Jungkook since she rejected his call during the meeting but it was a call from her senior.

Jihyun answered the call and spoke, "Yes?"

"Can you come to the emergency room right now?" Dr. Choi asked and his voice made her worry.

"Okay!" She hung up the call.

"I think there is an emergency," she said to Dr. Kang and both of them ran towards the emergency room.

On the way, Jihyun noticed Jungkook walking back to his room, so she decided to tell him that she might be late. "JUNGKOOK!" She called him but he didn't hear her.

Being a doctor, she chose to attend the emergency case. She ran to the emergency room and there was a guy unconsciously lying on the bed while the nurses were stopping the excess blood flow from his body.

"Dr. Kim and Dr. Min are currently attending another surgery and Dr. Jung is on leave, so you need to lead this one," Dr. Choi said.

"I'm ready to lead," Jihyun said without hesitation, well aware about the consequences of her decision.

The chief asked her not to attend any kind of surgery or any other patient, except for OPD patients.

"But what about the chief?" Dr. Kang nervously interrupted them.

"Screw the chief, it's an emergency. Shift the patient to operating theatre." Jihyun rushed out of the room and went to prepare for the surgery.

The surgery went smoothly and was successful.

After the surgery, the team member congratulated each other for their success. Jihyun tiredly walked out of the room and dealt with people waiting outside.

Tiredly, she cleaned herself and after a short after surgery meeting, she walked back to Jungkook's room. At least she could rest there.

As soon as she entered the room, she got shouted at. "WHY DID YOU REJECT MY CALL?" Jungkook shouted at her.

"I was in a meeting," she said.

"Meeting with Dr. Kang?" Jungkook smirked at her.

His reaction and words made her confused. He was acting like she did a big mistake by rejecting his call.

No wonder why she tried to give him an explanation. "I attended a surgery after the meeting," she said.

"With Dr. Kang?" He smirked again.

"What's with Dr. Kang?" Jihyun unknowingly raised her voice at the patient.

"I saw you two together in the terrace," he said with the same smirk plastered on his face.

"Stop it. I'm tired," Jihyun tried to avoid the situation.

"What did you do with Dr. Kang that you are tired now?" he asked again.

This time, Jihyun lost her shit. "Wait, what are you trying to say? And who are you to ask? Also, I can do anything with anyone and you shouldn't be concerned about it," she said, trying to control her anger. Jungkook scoffed in disbelief.

"You are my patient. Stay in your place and don't try to interfere in my life." Jihyun warned him.

Jungkook rolled his eyes and looked away.

"We have nothing to do with each other except for me being a doctor and you, a patient. I'll probably forget about you after you leave this hospital. I might remember about your case but not your name and face," Jihyun said those last words and left the room.

After taking her things with her, she walked out of the building and got inside her car. For a while, she thought if she did something wrong my shouting at him.

"Why am I feeling bad?" she mumbled to herself.

She dialed a number and waited for the call to be responded. "Make my patient from room 191 to take his medicine. I'm not feeling well, so tell Dr. Choi that I went back home." She hung up the call and drove back to her house.

On the other hand, Jungkook threw his crutches away from the bed in anger. No regrets of what he said to her. He was left alone.

Soon, a nurse walked in and asked him to take his medicine. As usual, he rejected to take.

"Did Dr. Song attend a surgery earlier?" he asked the nurse and she nodded.

Finally, he started having regrets about the words he said to Jihyun. "Okay. Give me," he asked. The nurse gave him his medicines and he took them.

The nurse left after applying ointment on his bruise which was still to recover and left the room.

Jungkook pulled his phone out and stared at the screen. There were two contacts displaying one after another.

For a few minutes, he debated inside his mind if he should apologize to Jihyun or call Minsu. Finally, he came up with a decision and dialed one of the contacts.

The person answered the call and spoke, "Yes?"

"Are you free, Minsu?"
