y/n pov

I opened my eyes, the now familiar sound and smell of the sea covered my senses. I got up and put on my dress. As I walked on the deck all the men were already working hard.

We were sailing on to meet the nephew of the king. I wasn't the only girl he was going to meet in the following weeks though.

My brother, Jin, was commodore in the navy, he was seen as one of the most successful at the moment. That gave him a lot of friends but also a lot of enemies. Our name was respected throughout the nation therefore we received an invitation to meet the nephew, it was no secret that he was in want of a wife. His previous one had died while giving birth, something that happened sometimes. That was two years ago.

Jin wasn't on the ship with us because he was too busy but he made sure some of his best men went with me. He was a very protective brother, he hid me as much from the world as possible. The effect however was that I wanted to know more and more about the world that was so unknown to me.

I said my mornings to Chan. the captain of our ship and then went to get some bread for breakfast. I was met by Felix

  'y/n, do you want to have breakfast together?'

  'sure' I smiled at him. He was a childhood friend, one of the few I had.

After breakfast I stared into the open ocean. The allure of freedom was obvious, you could go wherever you wanted and besides the world was so much bigger. Suddenly I saw something in the distance, 

I squeezed my eyes to see it more clearly. It was a ship

at the same time I heard one of the men shout

   'Ship ahead'

I turned my head and saw Chan took his spyglass and his face changed into shock

  'PIRATES' he shouted and as soon as he did everyone started moving

Pirates?

I had read so many stories about them but never had an encounter with them.

It was terrifying.

All men gathered their weapons and made the cannons ready

Felix rushed my way

  'y/n follow me'

without questions I did, numbed by fear. He led me to a cabin behind the stairs to the upper deck.

   'y/n you have to hide here, and don't come out' Felix indicated and reluctantly I obeyed his orders. He also gave me a little sword and a knife.

  'just in case' he said before closing the doors

There was a small groove that I could peek through to see what was happening on the main deck. The sounds I could easily hear. Chan shouting orders to everyone. 

Eventually I saw the pirates board the ship. They fought each other and I could see already men killing each other. so much was happening it was hard to take everything in. my body filled up with fear as it became clear this wasn't a battle we were able to win.

Soon our men surrendered and they were all lined up. through the groove I saw a man, he was young like myself. He must have been the most handsome man in human history and more striking was that he looked nothing like the illustrations in my book. I had a secret stash of pirate books that I hid from Jin. I was just very fascinated with them. His eyes were intimidating as he scanned the line. He must be the pirate captain.

  'hello gentleman. Thank you for your surrender. We have heard from trustworthy sources that this ship carries one of the most precious treasures of commodore Jin'

My hands became sweaty,

They were here for me 

  'we seem to be unable to locate this treasure and would kindly ask your assistance'

he started at the far left of the line, addressing Woojin

  'could you enlighten us?'

Woojin looked back at him scared

  'uuhm there is no treasure here' Woojin nervously said

  'boy, you don't seem to understand, my mission is to take everything from commodore Jin, so I will not leave until you give me the treasure. do you want to change your answer?' the guy was so cold

Woojin shook his head

The guy took his gun and shot him. I covered my mouth because I wanted to scream. 

    'Where. Is . The. treasure?' The guy repeated with pauses .

Felix didn't answer. The guy raised his gun again. 

No I couldn't let this happen, they would be killed one by one. I opened the little door

   'Wait' I shouted

Everyone's eyes turned my way

  'And who might you be?' The captain asked

   'I'm the treasure you're looking for' 

The guy next to the captain started laughing

   'Darling, just because you fucked Jin a few times doesn't make you his treasure'

I couldn't hide my disgusted face, I mean considering Jin is my brother

   'I think I was talking to the captain not you' I replied and the guy's laugh stopped and became serious, he suddenly grabbed his gun and pointed it at me

  'maybe show some respect, it would be a waste of that pretty face if I shot it'

I felt my heart beating against my chest, I couldn't show them my fear but I was surely experiencing it.

  'Jimin' the captain said sternly

   'I would like to hear what the lady has to say'

Jimin lowered his gun

  'So please love, explain yourself' the captain added

I took a deep breath looking right into his eyes

  'I am y/n and I am Jins sister'
