"Isn't he just so cute?" Quinn asks from the front seat of her car.

"He's okay." Yasmine shrugs next to her.

"Well of coarse you wont think so but come one. That body?" Quinn gushes. "What do you think Ashley?" I snap out of my phase and look over at her.

"Who?"

"Preston!"

"Who?"

Quinn rolls her eyes, annoyed. "Drew's friend Preston? The one I shared that beautiful kiss with? My soulmate?" Right, when we were playing spin the bottle. That's the night Drew and I kissed.

Why does everything come back to that?

"What happened to Vince?" I ask.

"Oh honey, she dumped him long ago." Yasmine says at the same time that Quinn asks, "Who?"

"Oh." I turn back to the window and watch as the looming rollercoasters of six flags, a giant amusement park, comes into view.

"We're here!" Quinn squeals. Once she pays for a parking spot we hop out of her car and go to the entrance.

"Do you see them?" Yasmine asks looking around. I shake my head and continue looking around until I see them walking over to us.

Drew smiles and waves, and I smile back shyly. I wasn't planning on taking Drew's offer to go to Six Flags with him, Riker and Preston but he insisted. So I said I wouldn't go unless I could bring Yasmine and Quinn. It's not that I didn't want to see Drew. It's that I didn't ant t see him alone.

"Look at him." Quinn whispers pointing at at Preston. My eyes land on Preston, and I have to admit, he does have a nice body. Like Drew, his arm muscles bulge from his thin shirt which happens to show off his six pack. His black hair sweeps low over his green eyes, but he sweeps it away.

"Hey!" Drew calls once they reach us.

"Hey." Yasmine responds.

"Let's go!" Preston says, oblivious to Quinn's ogling. We follow him to the front of the amusement park and purchase our wristbands.

"What ride first?" Riker asks.

"I have an idea." Quinn runs over to a booth and grabs a map of the park. Once back to us, she digs in her purse and pulls out a penny.

"What are you doing?" I ask confused.

"Hold your horses." Quinn snaps while dropping the map onto the ground and then dropping the penny onto the map.

Quinn and I bend to down and see it landed on the bumper cars.

Quinn jumps up from the ground. "The bumper cars!"

"Aww, are you sure it didn't land on a roller coaster or something?" Preston pouts.

"The map doesn't lie."

"But the penny could." He inputs nudging her with his elbow. Quinn gushes at the contact, causing Yasmine and I you share a look.

"Let's get her going than!" Riker says taking the lead with Yasmine. Quinn shimmies between Drew and Preston, leaving me behind them. I watch the people as they go by, interested in how even though I’m sure they have tons of shit going on in their lives, they manage to still be so happy.

Our group takes a sharp left leading into a tunnel, which I’m sure leads to the bumper cars. As we get deeper into the tunnel, the lights get darker. The only lights coming from bands of neon lights on the ceiling. At the end of the tunnel is a large dark pit full of glow in the dark bumper cars.

“Awesome!” Riker yells.

“You guys are all going down!” Quinn states matter-of-factly as we get into the line.

“In your dreams.” Yasmine says.

“You forget I’m the best at bumper cars than all of you, combined!” Drew boasts.

“Yeah, right. If I remember correctly the last time we played you got stuck in a corner and couldn't get out.” Preston mutters causing me to snicker.

“You think that’s funny Barbie?” Drew asks, making my cheeks heat up. Even him talking to me is making my heart do little skips that it has never done before.

“No.” I mumble.

“Well I do. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again.” Riker laughs.

“Now you're going to get it!” Drew jumps into Rikers back causing them to fall over in a mess of limbs. I’m afraid they’re actually fighting until I hear them both laughing.

“You guys are idiots.” Yasmine scolds.

“But adorable idiots.” Riker corrects, making Yasmine roll her eyes. The line moves fast and we manage to get cars in the same group. I settle into a neon blue car and wait for them to start up. My eyes wonder around to find my friends. Drew sits not to far away in a green car, Preston and Quinn sit together in a pink car (Which technically is unnecessary since there a couple empty cars left.)

I find Yasmine in a orange car not to far away from Riker. Behind Riker some guy around my age, keeps his eyes focused on me. His gaze sends shivers up and down my spine. I quickly look away but when I look back he’s still looking. I give him a what’s your problem look, but he just smirks and continues to stare. All of a sudden I’m rammed from behind by a car.

“Got you!” Quinn squeals from the passenger seat. I laugh and turn my car around and try to go after her and Pres but I’m rammed by the side by some little kid. As I go after Yasmine, who is now in my line of sight, I turn and look around for that guy.

He’s nowhere to be seen.

“I think that after this ice cream we should go after a rollercoaster. I’m sick of all these kiddy rides.” Riker says licking his cone. My stomach flips at the idea of a roller coaster but I keep my mouth shut.

“I do too. I’m ready for that adrenaline rush.” Quinn hyps.

“Are you sure you don't want an ice cream, chica?” Yasmine asks. Everyone looks up from there cones to me. I mentally curse Yasmine as I try and keep my face impassive.

“Yeah, thanks though.” Once everyone is done Riker locates the closest coaster on his map and we set off to find it. Quinn walks besides Preston and I smile to myself as I watch her slowly sink her hand into his. He gives her a surprised look but does not pull away. They'll make a good couple.

“Are you having fun?” Drew asks suddenly next to me. I turn to him and get momentarily lost in his eyes. Why haven't I noticed before how beautiful his eyes are? “Barbie?”

“Ye.. yes.” I stutter out once I realized I forgot to answer his question.

“Are you okay?” He asks, eyebrows scrunching up.

“Yeah, why?” I ask nonchalantly, combing my hair behind my ear.

“I don't’ know. It's like you’re here here but not here. And you haven't been like talking with me I guess. Like your avoiding me.”

Maybe because every time you get this close to me my body heat overheats and my heart skips so fast I’m scared you can hear it. Maybe because when we first kissed and I avoided you it was because I was scared it meant something. Now I know it did. Maybe because I’m scared of what that means. I think.

“It’s not because of the other day, is it?” He continues as if he can read my thoughts. “Because I don't know what that was and I’m sorry.”

“It’s fine.” I whisper playing with the hem of my shirt.

“It is?”

“Yeah. It’s not like it meant anything right?” I ask meeting his eyes. If I don’t acknowledge that it did mean something, than it will just go away. A moment of sadness courses through Drew’s face but then it’s gone.

“Right. Nothing at all.” We walk in an uncomfortable silence until we notice everyone stopped at a water-balloon game.

“Where’s Yas?” I ask noticing she's gone.

“Bathroom.” Quinn explains.

“Hey, um… I have a question.” Riker says, directing it to me and Quinn.

“What?” I ask.

“Do you think Yasmine would like that bear if I won it for her?” He asks pointing towards a giant blue teddy bear.

“Do you like her or something?” Quinn asks.

“Well, yeah. She's beautiful and funny and...” Quinn and I can't help it as we burst into uncontrollable laughter. I lean into her to steady me as I continue to laugh and tears run down my face.

“What’s so funny?” He asks, clearly confused.

“She’s- she,” I try to say between hiccups, “Yasmine doesn't like boys.” I finally manage to say but then start laughing again. Riker’s eyes bulge out of his head, as do Drew’s and Prestons.

“She’s lesbian?” Riker spits. I sober up at the disgust in his voice.

“Yeah. What’s wrong with that?” I ask narrowing my eyes and putting my hands on my hips.

“Nothing.” He says quickly. “I just never would have assumed. Like what about when we played spin the bottle?”

“What about it?” Yasmine asks walking over. Riker’s face flushes as he shoves his hands in his pockets and walks away.

“Nothing, let’s go!” Quinn hooks her arm in Yasmine’s and mine, narrowing her eyes at Riker.

My eyes widen at the sight of the looming rollercoaster before me sending my stomach into somersaults.

"No."

"Why not?" Riker asks.

"Ash's scared of rollercoasters." Quinn says interrupting me.

"I'm not scared." I insist, even though the idea of strapping myself to one of those death machines scares me shitless.

"Than let's go." Preston says heading to the gate.

"Wait uh..." I stamper. "I think the line looks a bit long." Everyone looks to the line where no one is standing.

"Right." Drew says. "I'll let you hold my hand." He teases.

"I think that may be necessary." Quinn smirks at me. I roll my eyes and take a few steps back.

"I don't need anybody's hand, I'll-" I bump into someone and turn to apologize but stop once I see who it is.

"Hey hot thing." The guy from the bumper cars says. "Why don't you come and hang out with me. I could give you a wild time."

"I'm.. I'm good." I say moving back.

"Oh come on. I saw you checking me out earlier, it will be fun."

"I wasn't checking you put I was-" Suddenly an arm is draped around my shoulder and a sloppy kiss is placed on my cheek.

"Hey man, find your own girl." Drew says.

Bumper cars guy raises his eyebrows at us. "You guys are together?"

"Yeah, now go before I pop you for hitting on my girlfriend." Drew warns sending the guy fleeing.

"Thanks." I sigh.

"No problem. But now for payback you have to go on the ride with me." I try to protest but suddenly everyone swarms me and ushers me into the line.

"Yasmine, please make them stop!" I wail getting more scared by the minute. They might think this is just a healthy normal scared, but rollercoasters downright scare the fuck out of me.

"Chica, you need to go. It will be fun."

"No it wo-" I'm picked up. I'm fucking picked up bridal style off the ground by Riker.

"It's for your own good." He says with a smile. "Your light aren't you?" I don't bother answering as some guy scans my wrist and Riker drops me into a seat next to Drew. Riker sits in front of me with a sly smile. "It'll be fun."

"I got you." Drew says next to me. I cross my arms over my chest and fume with anger. Suddenly the coaster leaps forward and my anger turns to fear.

"Drew?" I ask as we chug up the first uphill climb.

"Hm?"

"Can I... can I like squeeze your hand?" Before he can say anything I'm squeezing his hand as we pummel down the hill.

I don't think I've screamed so loud in my entire life.

"Okay, almost there. Breathe through the the nose. Fifteen more crunches to go." I push myself to do these last few crunches along with the instructor on my laptop. My body still feels like it's on that death machine called a roller coaster, so I wanted to put that stressed energy into something.

"Good. Let's do a ten second break than go into bicycles." I stand on shakey legs and grab my water bottle off the table. My phone starts ringing than. I pause the video and answer the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey Kiddo! How's it going?"

"Good. How are you dad? How's the movie coming along?"

"Good. We're just about done filming so that's a plus."

"That's good. How's Elise?"

"She's good. As wild as ever. She told me you sang at the beach, that's awesome kiddo!"

"Yeah, well it was fun. But no one knew it was me."

"Still, pretty soon I'll be going to your concerts." I laugh at his enthusiasm.

"Sure."

"So the main reason I called is because next weekend there is a music awards show in New York. Would you want to come?"

"Absolutely!" Anytime I can spend time with my dad is worth all the media.

"I thought so. Halle will be at the airport next week to pick you up. I'll email you the info." Halle being dad's manager is always on top of things for him. If not for Halle he probably wouldn't even know about this awards show.

"Okay. Thanks dad. Love you."

"You too kiddo."
