Emily

We had a difficult time picking a movie and Bloom came up with the idea to vote and that's how we ended up watching, Baby Driver.

We girls squealed in delight as Ansel Elgort came on the screen. Everett scoffed in the corner, while Evan was casually sitting on the couch. My head was resting on the arm rest of the couch. My legs pulled close to my chest and wrapped my arms around myself.

"Do you have blankets?" Bloom asked. "It's cold in here."

Everett stood up and opened a closet and pulled out some blankets and pillow and started passing it around.

"Do you want one?" Aaliyah asked and I shake my head. Everett came and put a blanket around me, anyway.

He asked Aaliyah to shift a little and sat down beside me.

"You can lean on me." he said. "That position look uncomfortable."

I put my head on his shoulder while my eyes was the screen.

When the movie ended and the credit was rolling. I sighed, internally. Ansel Elgort is cute.

"Should we watch The Fault in our star?" Aaliyah suggested.

"I'm in." Bloom said.

"Me too." I agreed.

"So am I." Morgan said.

"C'mon girls, you guys just watched this guy and now you want to watch him, again? Can we boys pick something, now?" Evan whined.

"You boys will pick some action movie." Bloom brushed his comments off.

Mr. Harper announced dinner was ready and he prepared a big feast.

"You made quite a lots of foods, today." Everett said to Mr. Harper.

"Its nice to see a lot of people over here." Mr. Harper smiled.

Everett must have been lonely for quite a while. Even though he pretends he's fine, I know deep inside he was struggling.

"I can't believe weekend rolled by so quickly." Aaliyah sighed.

I looked at Everett and wondered what he will do tomorrow or the days that he has been suspended. He was suspended once again for fighting with some jocks.

"What will you do tomorrow?" I asked quietly.

"I'll be at home." he shrugged. "I will pick you up after school and we can hang out." he said.

"Children, its rude to whisper while others are with you." Troy said and Everett scowled a bit.

"Which year are you in college and what programs are you in?" Everett asked.

Troy raised one of his eyebrow at him and answered, "Second year, Business Administration."

Everett was throwing series of question at Troy and for a moment I thought he was giving an interview.

"What is this? some kind of interview?" Morgan spoke out.

"Now, we can't have a conversation?" Everett asked and raised an eyebrow at Morgan.

Troy started laughing and he said,

"I just can't." as he wiped his tear. "Emily, why ain't you dating this guy, already?"

Everyone was shocked by how openly Troy was saying that. No one dared to say that out loud, including Evan who usually have a big mouth that sometimes needs a little filter.

"Just to let you know, I don't like Emily in a romantic way. I'm a gay." Troy announces.

There was a brief silence and I heard Morgan muttered a 'what the f*ck.' quietly.

Everett's face was blank and he was comprehending what Troy was saying.

"I see." Evan said blinking a couple of times. "Didn't know that."

"I don't usually go around announcing my sexual orientation." and he looked at Everett. "I was just messing with you."

Everett's body relaxed just a tiny bit beside me.

"But honestly, why ain't you two dating? You two look cute together."

Everette raised his hand and looked at me, "Ask her why we're not dating yet."

I looked at Troy and he cocked his head on the side for a moment and it was like we were having a silent conversation between us and he nodded his head.

"I see." he looked at me. "Choices, Em." he said.

"What does that means?" Evan asked.

"Its Em's and mine's secret." Troy winked at Evan and Evan pouted like a child and looked at me, hoping I will share it, but I can't.

After dinner, Troy was the first one to leave. His Dad was here to pick him up.

"Thanks for inviting me, I doubt after today you would call me to your place. I enjoyed very much." He said to Everett.

"We can hang out sometime and if you would like I know someone who might be interested to go on a date with you." Everett said with a small smile. He seemed much more relax with Troy now that he knows that Troy is not after me. I told him numerous time.

Evan said he will drop us off home, Everett said he have nothing much to do and will be sleeping late anyway as he's not coming to school tomorrow.

This time, I was with Everett and Morgan. We dropped Morgan off before we made our way to my place.

"I had lots of fun with you, today." I said. We spent the whole day with each other."

"I had fun too." he said. "We should do this often."

"You'll get bored of me if we do it often." I joked.

"I'll never get bored of you and I'll try not to bored you with my company."

I laughed. "You're quite entertaining. I doubt I'll ever be bored around you."

"Why you never mentioned, that Troy is gay?" he asked.

"Its not my story to tell. Some people don't like sharing it with lots of people or they prefer telling some." I shrugged. "I didn't want to go around telling people about him, just in case he didn't want people to know. That's why I told you to trust me."

"I did." he said. "That's why I was very patient when Evan was teasing me, but I didn't whoop him even though I should have and its because you told me to trust you."

I looked at him momentarily and watched as we entered my neighbourhood. I wondered if he could keep my secrets? Could I trust him? Should I trust him? Would he dislike me? Would he still want to be my friends?

I wondered if I shared my problems with him, would he understand me better or look at me, differently?

"Penny for your thoughts?" he smiled.

"What if I tell you a secret of mine?"

"That's interesting." he glanced at me quickly. "I promise to keep it safe."

I hesitantly said, "The reason, my family and I don't have the best relationship is because.." I took a deep breath. "I'm adopted."
