"Daddy! M-Mummy is being so m-mean to me!" Echo's little self whines, randomly appearing in front of me.

Her doe eye's filled with tears and her small hands made squeezing motions toward me.

I quickly scooped her up in my arms before bouncing her up and down.

"None of that, قلبي الصغير." I cooed, kissing her forehead. "What did your mommy do?" [My little/small heart]

She sniffled quietly and wiped her nose, causing me to walk to the bathroom and grab her baby wipes. As I wiped her nose she started squirming in my arms causing me to chuckle.

"Mummy wouldn't l-let me have a-anymore w-wolly pops because I had thwee earlier." She sniffled seriously, laying her head on my shoulder.

I kissed my teeth before chuckling and hoisting her up so she could look at me, which was a huge mistake.

Her small lips were pouting at me as she gave me puppy eyes, begging for another lollipop. Normally, I would've already given in. However, if Phoebe told her no I couldn't go against her wishes. That'd only teach her not to respect her mother.

"Baby, you can have more lollipops tomorrow. If you eat too much all your teeth will fall out."

She gasps at this and nods her little head.

"Okie! I want my mommy now."

I chuckle at this before putting her down and letting her run to her mom, who was standing in the kitchen staring at us with a small smile.

She chuckles at Echo who was charging toward her with her hands out before sweeping her up in her arms and pressing kisses all over her face.

It warmed my heart to see the two of them together.

It's been one month since my dad and I mended our relationship. We've been texting and calling a lot, and have even met up a few times since then.

He still hasn't met Echo yet because I didn't exactly trust him at first, which is ironic considering I let Echo meet Zameer before he and I even became official. But that's beside the point; Being that I trust him now.

He's supposed to be coming to my apartment later this evening so he could also meet Zameer.

And so that Zameer could be here in case anything happens, but that was his idea.

"You nervous?" Zameer appears leaning on the kitchen counter, making eye contact with me while using his elbow to support his head.

"A little," I said honestly, but not because of the dinner. Zameer always made me nervous when we make eye contact.

'He just so fine-'

He suddenly coughs, immediately taking me out of my trance and redirecting my attention to Echo who was currently pulling on the bottom of my black flared leggings.

"Yes, baby?" I coo, gently taking her into my arms and placing her in a comfortable position on my hip.

"I meet Grampa today?" She asks in her cute little voice, tilting her small head at me.

I quickly kiss her cheek, as she was too cute not to, and nod my head at her.

"He's coming here later today. You excited?"

She quickly nods her head, causing me and Zameer to lightly chuckle.

His phone buzzes, causing him to roll his eyes. He checks his phone before looking at both of us.

"What time is your dad coming?" He asks, texting someone who I assume is his boss.

"Seven, why?"

He flashes me his phone screen, revealing that the time is 6:20. I also snuck a peak at his messages because I was nosy, and he was indeed texting his boss.

"Oh shoot! We should start getting ready." I say, not only to Echo but to myself.

She just shrugs her shoulders before resting her head on my shoulder, making Zameer laugh at loud.

The time was now 6:57, and Echo and I were more than ready.

We took a shower together because we didn't have time for me to give her a bath, and to say she enjoyed the water pouring down on her would be an understatement.

Zameer wanted to cook the dinner so I definitely wasn't going to refuse. He hasn't told me what he was making yet, but I know it'll be good because it's coming from his hands.

Echo and I were walking out of my bedroom when I was suddenly hit with an amazing smell.

I literally almost fell out.

Echo practically ran to the kitchen, seemingly smelling it as well.

I quickly followed after her to make sure she didn't fall because her little dramatic self would make us cancel the entire dinner if she did.

I could hear Zameer's deep chuckle as he probably heard Echo's small footsteps charging toward him.

Before I could say anything, there was a knock at the door.

I quickly straighten out my outfit and walk to the door, where I am unpleasantly surprised by Zameer already opening it.

I roll my eyes as it swings open, revealing my father. Echo squeals from behind both Zameer and me and runs toward him.

Clearly caught off guard, my dad quickly catches her before she could collide head-first into his legs.

"Hi, Grampa!" She squeals, looking up at him with a wide smile.

"Hi, little one!" He quickly reciprocates the smile, completely ignoring me and Zameer's presence.

Zameer loudly coughs, making my father finally realize that we were here.

They both sat there in silence, both staring at each other. Zameer's being a bit more of a glare and my dads being a look at adoration.

"Well, hello to you as well."

"Hello," Zameer says lowly, making things extremely awkward.

He's so overprotective it's crazy.

"Hi, dad!" I give him a bright smile, trying to make things homier for him.

He gives a quick hello back before pulling me into a nice fatherly hug.

We pull away and converse as we all walk to the kitchen together.

"It smells really good! Did you cook this?" My dad asks me with a kind smile.

"I wish, but no. Zameer actually did!" I say, trying to talk him up. I knew my dad already liked him from the way he first looked at him, but there's nothing wrong with talking my own man up.

"Wow! I'm glad you found a man who can actually cook, a lot of guys these days still live with their mo-"

"Yeah; crazy!" I say, interrupting my dad before he made this situation even more awkward. I glanced at Zameer to catch him holding back a smile.

"Grampa! Sit next to me!" Echo says, reminding me of her presence as she was hidden on the side of my father, having his hand in a death grip.

My father just nods his head with a sweet smile on his face.

Zameer cooked us all teriyaki chicken and rice, and some broccoli on the side but it was mainly for Echo.

My father made small talk, making Zameer open up more.

It warmed my heart to see the two of them interact like normal people. Especially Zameer, and I was fully preparing myself to have to sit in awkward silence.

After we all finished eating, Echo and I decided to go wash the dishes together leaving Zameer and my father alone in the living as some random sports channel played on the TV.

Totally was not planned.

Solely coincidental.

However, Echo wanted to hear what they would talk about. So here we are, leaning against the wall trying to listen to their conversation.

"So, what do you do for work?" I hear my father's voice. Echo giggles cutely and covers her hand with her mouth.

It's taking everything within me not to just scoop her cute little self up and completely blow our cover.

"I'm a professor. You?"

"I own a refurbishing company!" My dad says, seemingly excited to be bonding with him. I almost squeal, but I refrain.

It then goes silent again for a few seconds before my dad speaks up.

"Look, I know you're not the biggest fan of mine. I'm sure you probably already know everything about Phoebe's mom and whatnot, but I really want you to trust me. I promise you I have no ill intentions with my daughter and now little Echo-"

Zameer quickly cuts him off.

"I know. You seem like a great guy, and I'm sorry for being so weird with you being here. I just really love the both of them and don't want to see them hurt, which I'm sure you can understand. We're cool."

"Really?" My dad says, sounding shocked.

I can't lie, I am as well. Not only that, but I'm blushing extremely hard right now.

"Yep. I'm sure you can already tell I'm more than capable of fighti-"

"It's quite evident." My dad interrupts, referring to Zameer's muscles. Making them both chuckle.

"You're a good guy." My dad concludes. "I'm sure you won't hurt her, but in case you do just know that I know some peopl-"

I quickly facepalm, extremely embarrassed. Echo just giggles again, making me playfully shush her so she doesn't blow our cover.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm sure you do. You're a good dad. And now grandfather. Don't screw that up." Zameer seriously states.

I assume my dad nods because it just goes dead silent.

"You two can come out now." Zameer loudly exclaims causing my dad to let out a loud cackle.

"Whoopsies!" Echo squeals, running out from our hiding place and charging toward them.

I roll my eyes before sluggishly walking over to them, and sitting next to Zameer on the sofa.

He smirks at me before kissing my forehead.

"You weren't exactly too discreet-" He starts

"Mayne, shut up."
