Gwen spent all day in her room, figuring out the next place that the killer might attack. If she was right, his goal was to attack orphanages and foster homes. She noted the orphanages and foster homes in the area. Then googled some of them to see if there were any articles regarding the homes. She found a few on the abuse of children in the homes. Some were about the misuse of donations by the housemothers. She picked out a few of the negative ones. He might target them, she thought.

If what the tale said was right, he would kill the children who were suffering. Mercy killing. Gwen did not know whether to agree on his motives.

"But my sister did not deserve to be killed. She wasn't suffering," Gwen said, reassuring herself that the killer was bad. Period

She packed a few necessaries into her bag and grabbed her car keys. The night sky surrounded her as she drove to the Everdeen Foster Home. There were many negative articles on the home. She suspected it would be his next target. She parked her car blocks away and crept towards the old building. The simple bricked three-storey building was looking the same as it had four years ago in the article she read. With its sloppy painted walls and dried out front lawn, this place gave her the creeps.

The windows were all dark, except for one that had a small light peeking through the curtains. Gwen sneaked into the building and hid behind one of the overgrown bushes. She positioned herself such that she would have a good view of all the windows. Once she was set, she waited and waited...and waited.

There was no movement in or around the house. The little light that was there soon was switched off. The area was still. After a few hours, she glanced at her watch, which showed that it was already half-past two in the morning. Her eyes threatened to shut. In a while, she realised she must have gotten the wrong place. For all she knew, he could have targeted another home. Or decided to lie low today.

With a sigh, she stood up from her hiding spot and made her way back to her car. She rested her head on the steering wheel cursing to herself. This would be hard.

But that did not mean she would give up.

She started the engine and drove back to her apartment. She slumped onto her bed and allowed sleep to creep in.

That night she dreamt of her sister again. The ecstatic look on her face before she jumped off her window. Did she believe that she would be free of suffering if she killed herself? Or was that killer just too good at brainwashing? She did not know. But she wanted to. She would find him. She would not give up.

Gwen woke up the next day, groggy but with a renewed fighting spirit. She would stake out today too. And the next day. And the day after that.

She would not stop until she found him. Peter Pan had a pursuer. He would not be let off the hook that easily.
