"So to be able to keep this location and pay for the land, we run a farm here with chickens, cows and all that," Carmine explained.

The stood outside the Iris cabin, leaning on the rainbow coloured wall. It was designed as a small house, with a marble fountain out in front, a light shining onto the water to create a rainbow at any time of the day and a collection of drachmas was beside it, ready to send a message.

All of the cabins looked small besides for the Olympian's, but just like the school, it was much bigger inside.

"So do you have a favourite god?" Persephone smiled as the sky darkened, stars beginning to show themselves.

"My mum of course," Carmine winked and straightened, "come on, we have to go to the mess hall now."

Carmine's siblings, the other children of Iris, were almost completely different to her. Carmine seemed to be the most stubborn and strong, while the others spent their time gossiping with the Aphrodite kids or messing around with the other campers by changing the colours of people's clothes or belongings.

One thing that they all had in common was their names. They were all named after colours and had died their hair the same.

The mess hall was on the first floor of the 'U' building which was actually called 'The School House'. Persephone thought it should've been called 'The School Mansion' considering how big it was.

The mess hall was a very large room with a glass ceiling. In the large space, tables were lined up neatly, a symbol in the middle of it to symbolise a certain god or goddess. At the front of the room, was a raised area, where a large fire pit made of white marble stood, the fire blazing inside it, a hole in the glass ceiling above so that the smoke could escape.

"Demigods!" Chiron was at the front of the room beside the fire, a smile on his face and his hands clasped together.

"You can sit with me until you get claimed." Carmine offered and Persephone followed her to the Iris table, holding a plate and cutlery.

"We welcome a new demigod today! Please be kind." he stared pointedly at the Hermes and Ares tables who snickered, before turning back, "You may resume." at his words, the hall filled with noise and people's plates began to be filled with food.

Instead of digging in, each demigod stood and made a line to the fire pit, "What's happening?" Persephone muttered to Carmine as they joined the line.

"We do it before every meal, we offer the gods, or a specific god, some food. A tradition of the school"

They didn't have to wait long for the line to start moving, and soon they were at the front.

"To Demeter, I don't understand your significance in my mum's letter, please help," Persephone muttered and decided that Demeter probably wouldn't want a slab of steak, so she put in her peas and the fire turned green before resuming with the hypnotising orange and yellow.

She went to return to the Iris table, but as soon as she set down her plate, she was surrounded by thick fog. It disappeared as soon as it appeared, and left Persephone wearing a white shirt and blue overalls. On the front pocket was the same sign at the bottom of her mum's letter - the sign of Demeter. Her hair was twisted elaborately into somewhat like a wreath or crown, all around the top of her head.

She had two gold rings on her hands, one on each middle finger. The one on the left was just a plain circle signet ring and the one on the right was a slim band with a thin bar running perpendicularly through it, making it look like a cross.

Everyone had stopped talking and were now looking at her, "Welcome Persephone! Daughter of Demeter!"

It was silent for a bit more before Carmine stood up and whispered, "You have to go to Demeter's table now," and then shoved her plate into her hands and gave a little shove.

Stumbling nervously to the Demeter table, she was greeted by her smiling brothers and sisters, who seemed to be wearing the blue overalls of their own volition.

The room's volume grew again and everything seemed to be back to normal.

"I'm Barley, cabin leader." A serious-looking 14-year-old girl introduced herself, Barley appeared to be the oldest one at the table - besides from Persephone.

"Nice to meet you." Persephone smiled and was introduced to each of her siblings.

Each one of them had names that sounded like a crop. Either her mum had a sense of humour, or she couldn't think of any other name for her kids, and Persephone just happened to receive the 'odd one out' name.

"Is that meat?" Rye tilted his head in disgust.

"Yeah, steak." Persephone restrained from eating because all of her siblings were looking at her.

"You eat meat?" Sugar, a 10-year old girl gaped, her voice dripping in loathing towards the food.

Persephone nodded and the table, as one all 'humphed' and began to eat, all still talking to Persephone, but casting repulsive glances to the plate.

She didn't end up eating anything that night.

After dinner, she was able to convince her cabin mates that she'll meet them at the cabin and that she had some things that she wanted to sort first.

Left alone, she wondered out of the house by herself, the other demigods with their siblings or friends, joking around and laughing, having a great time. Carmine had left with her siblings a while ago, leaving newly different coloured objects in their wake.

Persephone legs began to move and took her to Cabin 4.

Cabin 4 had a desolate and empty feeling, no one had probably been in there since it was built. The cabin was large, like all the other Olympian's cabins. It resembled a mini version of an ancient Greek temple, the columns and walls made of black and gold marble. The floor was clear glass and underneath the glass was small jewels, diamonds and all kinds of valuable treasures were atop a black floor.

Her hand skimmed over the columns and she went up the two steps to stand on the glass floor. Walking further in, she reached the door to the cabin, or what she assumed was the door to the cabin. It was basically just a rectangular outline of where the door should be, there were no handles or visible hinges.

She sighed and turned away, walking back to the Demeter cabin.

The Demeter Cabin was basically a wooden shed incorporated into a mini hill, a large pine tree going through the middle of the hill. The shed had a porch out front and two wooden poles holding up the roof, a vine curling around the poles and creating a blanket of green on the roof.

Persephone walked into the cabin, in the middle of it, the pine tree trunk went through the middle of it, and the bunks were holes dug up on the walls. In the bunks were only a single pillow and a thin blanket.

"Persephone, what took you so long?" Barley popped her head out of her dirt bunk with a smile.

"I was just looking around," she replied, "so which one is mine?"

"Well, we're all already in bed, so whatever one isn't occupied." Only 4 of the bunks were occupied.

Persephone smiled and chose a bunk, slipping in before realising that she had no pyjamas, "Hey Barley, I don't have anything to wear."

"Oh! That's fine. What are sisters are for right?" Barley got out of bed and opened a small chest and brought out a green shirt and yellow sweatpants, "I'm not sure if it will fit, but they're the largest I own." Barley shrugged and handed it to her, "Oh, and once you take those clothes off, they'll end up disappearing and it will all go away."

"Oh, ok thanks." Persephone headed to the bathroom and changed, folding the clothes up and placing them on the floor and the two rings on top of the clothes.

The lights had been turned off already and fireflies were flying through the air.

That night she lay in bed, staring up at the dirt ceiling until she fell asleep.
