After a while, Persephone had finally been able to leave Chiron's office, and she walked into the crowd of people outside the 'School House', all clamouring to be friends with her. They all wanted to be friends with a goddess and possibly be able to get favours.

Amongst all the commotion, Persephone saw Carmine slip into the woods. Somehow managing to escape the crowd, Persephone followed.

"Persephone, daughter of the King of Olympus and the Goddess of Agriculture," Carmine spoke once she sensed that Persephone was there.

Carmine sat beside the river, shoulders hunched and legs pressed up against her chest as she stared into the clear water, her reflection staring back. Persephone was briefly reminded of Narcissus, as well as the flower, his namesake.

"Created perfectly, for the sole purpose of being the goddess of spring. You fit right into your role, and then there's me, daughter of the goddess of the rainbow, meant to be all optimistic and peaceful... You wouldn't want to be my friend." Carmine scowled.

Persephone went to sit beside her, dipping her hands into the water and swirling it around, "You know, I'm not created perfectly for my role - " Persephone began before Carmine interrupted.

"Not perfect my ass, I saw that giant pine tree that just grew out of nowhere, in no time." The red-head skidded a pebble across the water.

Persephone stayed silent, a knot growing in her throat as she repressed the want to scream out in frustration. She hated when people judged her to be something she wasn't, she wanted to strangle every living thing, luckily, she managed to repress the urge. She took her hands out of the water and wiped it onto the clothes that her mum made her wear. She then faced her right palm down to the riverbank, a large narcissus began to grow and sprout, until it was larger than a normal narcissus.

"Everyone has flaws, mine is particularly horrible, especially for the goddess of spring," Persephone reached forward, her index finger grazing a petal, and the entire flower began to wilt and die, Carmine watched on with wide eyes, "every plant I touch dies... how's that for the goddess of spring."

"Every plant?" Carmine asked in disbelief.

"Every plant." Persephone reached out and touched the trunk of a growing tree, and the leaves immediately yellowed and began to fall. Dead leaves raining over them.

No one was around, which was surprising because she hardly had any alone time anymore. Counting her blessings, Persephone quickly walked out of the school, head down and trying to look as inconspicuous as possible.

Everyone began to glance at her for longer than they usually would, and Persephone realized the achlýs wasn't changing how people saw her clothes.

Walking with her head down, she arrived at the restaurant that Leanne, Pat and she had decided to meet up at. She was anything but excited to see Leanne.

The restaurant was brightly lit, surrounded by windows and allowing light to pour in. The place had a reoccurring blue theme, decorative seashells littered the ceiling and the rough floor.

Spotting them at a table, she went over, smiling politely. Was it possible for someone to completely change personalities overnight? Because that seemed to be the case for Leanne.

"Fired from your job... serves you right." Leanne snickered once Persephone sat down.

Persephone had told no one about the loss of her job, but of course, Leanne knew. When sleeping with the President of the hospital, she could bribe him into doing whatever she wanted, including convincing him to fire a doctor.

"By the way, if you don't come to work the next few weeks then you're not getting paid for the past month." Leanne continued, checking her white nails.

Pat gasped and kicked Leanne from underneath the table, "Stop it." she scolded.

Persephone only pursed her lips, refusing to reply with a snide comment, "What are you even wearing?" Leanne ignored Pat's kick and continue to regard Persephone with disgust.

"I, um, was at a play." Persephone played with the cup in front of her, twirling it in her fingers.

Before Leanne could say anything, the waitress arrived.

Long blonde hair in a haphazard bun, blonde curls framed her heart-shaped face, high cheekbones with a natural blush, with light freckles dusting her nose and cheeks. Big pearl blue eyes were framed with long, thick eyelashes, perfectly shaped eyebrows above. Her button nose complimented her perfectly proportioned pink lips. Her smile was beautiful, able to bring married men to their knees. She was tall and had a body like a model, generous breasts and a thin waist.

"Hi, my name is Aphrodite, I'll be your waitress today." Her voice was like a siren's, alluring and able to cause destruction among men.

"Heh, Aphrodite, I've had enough of Greek names." Leanne scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"Leanne, enough," Pat said sternly.

Aphrodite only rolled her eyes, "What can I get you today?"

Persephone watched Aphrodite closely... she could swear that - "Can I just get some marinara? Lea will have the same," Pat smiled politely at the waitress, "Persephone?"

"I'm eating later." Persephone saw Aphrodite begin to grin.

"I'll be right back with your food, and... σύ ἔχω παλαιός." Persephone translated it, to 'you have grown'.

Aphrodite winked and left, and Persephone remembered.

Long, summer afternoons in her mother's fields, underneath an oak tree, shielded from Helios' bright rays as he passed by her in his golden chariot - high up in the sky, watching over the world from his perch.

A soft breeze disturbed the peace, rustling the tall wheat stalks that stood in perfect lines, courtesy of Demeter. The golden hue slightly resembled ichor as nymphs weaved in and out of the fields, nurturing the plant as they laughed and played together.

A soft chime-like laugh rang through the air as Persephone reacted to Aphrodite's words.

Underneath that oak tree where Persephone liked to rest, was Aphrodite, the Goddess of love and beauty, kneeling beside young Persephone, barely four years old, but quite intelligent for her age.

Persephone wore a white chiton, the bottoms already tainted by the dirt they sat on, she grew a bouquet of flowers, roses, daisies, and baby's breath.

Aphrodite looked the same, as would be expected. Her wavy blonde hair went down to her mid-back, complimenting the pearl pink chiton that she had on, cutting low at both the front and back. Aphrodite, of course, was always beautiful, and obviously, she could alter her appearance to whatever people thought was beautiful.

"How's your husband?" Persephone wrapped her hand with the loose fabrics of her chiton and unrooted the flowers.

Aphrodite bit her lips, "Haephestus is doing well, he made me a new necklace." Aphrodite gestured to her neck, where a thin gold necklace rested, a smooth heart charm dangling.

"It's pretty," Persephone admired the charm, eyes wide with wonder.

Aphrodite laughed lightly, a sound that could bring men to their knees, her eyes sparkled with mirth.

"I can't wait to get married," Persephone bounced up and down slightly, "I know exactly who I want to marry."

"Really? Who?" Aphrodite knew that Demeter would never allow for her only daughter to marry or be in a relationship with a man, let alone a god.

"What a whore," Leanne grumbled, glaring at the retreating figure of the goddess.

"Leanne, would you stop?" Pat scoffed before turning to Persephone, "What are you doing after this? You said that you were eating later."

"Yeah, I um, I'm going out on a date," Persephone smiled to herself.

"That's great!" Pat clapped.

"Yeah, and bigger news, I met my mum earlier today." Persephone grinned.

"Well, that's surprising, cause I thought your mum didn't want you." Leanne snickered.

A whole week of snide remarks and horrid comments caused all the frustration and anger to bottle up. and with each and every comment, the bottles filled up more and more, until it was as if it were a soda in a bottle, shaken and ready to explode.

Persephone finally exploded, "What's your problem?"

"What's my problem?" Leanne repeated.

"Yeah, what in Tartarus is your problem?" Persephone tilted her head, eyes glaring.

"You and your superstitions about greek mythology. It's so stupid, you're so stupid. You somehow always get the hot guys but you're so ugly and needy. From day one, ever since I met you, every guy has liked you." Leanne gritted her teeth.

"That's not true!" Persephone rebutted.

"Mark Hunt. Third-year. I had a giant crush on him and I got him to be my friend and all he could do was go on about how pretty you are and how much he wanted to go out with you.

"Joshua Flok. Two years ago. He befriended me and I began to like him, he acted as if he liked me too... Only to turn around and ask me if he could get me to hook you with him.

"Kole Reyson. Only last year, I'm sure you remember him, you guys got close and became good friends, but he was mine first. We had been childhood neighbours and I loved him. But he was in love with you the moment he laid eyes on you. It's not fair."

"None of that is my fault." Persephone scoffed.

"Yeah, but it happened because of you," Leanne screamed, "you slut."

"How dare you?" Persephone shot up, scowling.

Aphrodite paused her approach to the table with their food in her hands. She was exercising caution as she had witnessed Persephone's wrath at only 3 years old, and that was already terrifying then, Aphrodite could only imagine her ability now.

"How dare you accuse me of something that I really had nothing to do with! It's not my fault that you are incapable of gaining male attention! It's not my fault that guys notice that you're a horrible person inside and that they saw through your charade!" Her hands were fisted and her face was red with annoyance, "So stop blaming me when you should be fixing your attitude and personality!" Persephone turned swiftly and left the restaurant, leaving Aphrodite sighing in relief.

This was 100 times better than the event millenniums ago. At least nobody died this time.
