It was around 7:50pm when we arrived at the Karasuno High School's training camp facilities which were used by extracurricular clubs. When we got off the bus I saw a surprisingly big facility instead of seeing a small cabin-like house.

"UOOOOH!" Shoyo shouted, making me flinch, his voice was full of excitement. "This is my first time!"

"Calm down a bit, will you?" Tobio snapped and Shoyo glanced at him.

"But I have never been to a training camp before!" he retorted and my eyes widened slightly. He has never been to a training camp before? I thought. Did he not go to one during his middle school years? I always went to one each year in Teiko.

Kei walked next to me, his hands in his pockets. "What's so fun about spending all day around this filthy bunch?" he mumbled, but Ryu-senpai and Yu-senpai seem to have heard him as they immediately whipped their heads towards him.

"Oi Tsukishima! You bastard, as long as Kiyoko-san and (Y/N) are within a 500m radius, there's no way this place will stink!" they both shouted at him in unison. I snorted.

Koshi-senpai walked by and turned towards the two. "Shimizu's house is nearby, so once she finishes her work she'll head home. That's always the case, you know?" At the same time the two both face planted onto the floor, looking deadly pale and dead. Koshi-senpai ignored the two and pranced away. I put a hand over my mouth to muffle my cackles. I knew it! I thought as I followed behind Kiyoko-senpai who was heading to the kitchen to cook food.

I helped Kiyoko-senpai and Takeda-sensei cook curry and rice, which came out delicious if I do say so myself. After dinner Kiyoko-senpai went back to her house, leaving me alone with the boys. Thankfully they let me take a bath first.

I was walking down the hall wearing shorts and a t-shirt, a cold drink in my hand. I turned the corner to see Shoyo and Ryu-senpai, but they didn't seem to notice me. I was going to call out to them until I heard Shoyo say, "There's... someone else... in this building."

"Oh?" I blurted out and then a malicious idea came to me. I smirked as I used misdirection to decrease my presence. I had an evilly good idea to scare them.

"Haah? That ain't possible. Our group's the only ones using the place today," Ryu-senpai replied and started to walk away, but Shoyo grabbed his shirt.

"B-But I definitely saw them." Ryu-senpai looked back at Shoyo and raised an eyebrow.

"What kind of guy was it?"

Shoyo went white and his eyes became void of emotion. "It was kinda... A kid." Ryu-senpai tensed and I giggled. They seemed to hear my giggle since they both tensed. "C-C-Could it be a ghost?!"

"D-Don't say thaaaaat!" Ryu-senpai shouted, afraid. "You must've seen something else like your reflection in the window or something! Ok! Nothing to worry about, let's head back to everyone else and it'll be fine. Everything will be fine, perfectly fine."

Then the sound of a foot hitting the tile resounded through the room. I tensed for a moment as well before looking over to see Yu-senpai. My eyes went wide when I saw his hair down, he looked good with it down.

"Eep!" Shoyo screeched. "There is isssss!!" he shouted and grabbed onto both sides of Ryu-senpai's towel which was hung around his neck.

"GYAAAA!"

"Huh? What are you all getting worked up about? You're gonna make Daichi-san angry, y'know." I slapped my hand over my mouth when I saw Ryu-senpai look at him with a blank face.

"That's just Noya dammit! What the hell was all that 'kid' stuff. You guys are practically the same height!" he shouted while slapping Shoyo's head and pointed to Yu-senpai. A smile twitched on my lips and Shoyo's next words almost had me tumbling with laughter.

"N-Noya-san... But... N... NOYA-SAN SHRANK! SCARRRY!" he shouted and Yu-senpai glared at the two laughing boys angrily.

"Ryu you bastard! Don't laugh!!" He shouted and then a hand found it's way on his shoulder. This is it, I thought, my eyes gleaming with amusement.

The three froze and Tanaka and Hinata froze as they glanced behind Noya. Noya slowly turned around and there was a man looking down at them, hair covering his face and only leaving one eye exposed.

"Don't talk so loud, you'll get Daichi-san mad," the man said and the three screamed with terror. "A-Ah! Wait it's just me Asahi!"

"A-Asashi-san don't scare us like that!" Hinata exclaimed as they started to calm down. "We thought you were a ghost."

Asashi nervously laughed, pushing his brown hair out of his face. "Ghosts don't exist," he said, a wry smile on his face.

Suddenly a giggle rang out and the four froze. Hinata started to shake with fear and Noya and Tanaka paled. Asashi froze in place. Asashi then felt something cold placed against his neck and a white hand gently placed itself on his shoulder. Asashi refused to turn around and the three boys looked at him in fear. Long hair covered their face and their head slowly moved upward as the woman's face got closer to Asahi's ear.

"Boo." They all screamed.

"AHHHHH!"

"SHUT UP!" Daichi's scream was unheard as the four players continued to scream in fear.

"PFFT! Hahaaha!" the woman laughed and wrapped her hands around her stomach. "You guys have the best reactions!"

Hinata, Tanaka, and Noya who were all on the verge of pissing their pants and passing out looked at the woman. Their eyes widened when they saw who it was. "(Y-Y/N)!?!" they all shouted in unison.

"(Y/N) how could you scare us like that?!" Hinata jumped at her, shaking her by her shoulders back and forth.

She giggled. "I'm sorry, but it was so perfect to scare you all!" She laughed even more as she held her cold, unopened can of soda.

Tanaka sighed. "That wasn't funny!" He scratched his head. "Well, now that this ghost stuff is over, let's go to sleep."

Noya nodded in agreement. "Let's go Asahi-

The four of them then glanced at Asashi who was frozen and quiet. Their eyes widened and (Y/N)'s expression of laughter became one of worry. Asahi's eyes were blank and his face was slightly blue, white foam forming at his mouth.

At once, the four screamed. "ASASHI IS DEAD!!"

"ALL OF YOU QUIET DOWN!" Daichi shouted.

"I can't believe I have to run with them," I mumbled under my breath with a pout. "...Well I do need the exercise." It was the third day of the training camp and we only had a few more days until our practice match with Nekoma High.

Currently, the team and I were running. Tobio and Shoyo were leading the pack as they raced each other. "SORRRA!" Shoyo shouted as he ran past Tobio and ahead of everyone else.

"Does he know where he's going even?!" I shouted and everyone else seemed to be unfazed.

"(Y/N)!" Ukai yelled at me and I turned to look at him. "Go get Hinata back here!"

I groaned. "Yes sir!" I said and saluted him as I ran past everyone else with mach speed which shocked them all. Internally, I thanked Tomoe-senpai and Kyosuke-senpai. I followed the path where Shoyo went until I realized a very important problem.

"I'm lost." I deadpanned. "My greatest weakness! Directions!" I shouted in agony before facepalming myself. "So embarrassing... If Daiki found out he would be laughing at me again." I signed and straightened up before walking down the street. I had made a choice, to walk around and find someone instead of standing still and waiting for them to find me.

"Oya?" I heard a male's voice say and I looked to my left. Coming out of a side road was a male with messy upward black hair with a fringe on his right side and hazel eyes which had cat-like pupils. He was tall and had a muscular frame, with broad shoulders. He was wearing a black shirt and red shorts along with sneakers. Additionally, he was handsome.

"Hello," I greeted him, nodding my head at him.

"Hey," he replied with a smile and looked at me. I shivered slightly as his calculating eyes stared at me. "Are you lost?"

I smiled, slightly embarrassed that he could tell. "Yeah, directions are not my forte." He chuckled. "What about you?"

"Ahh, I'm looking for my teammate," He explained. "We lost him on our run."

"Same," I blurted out as we both walked side by side. "I was told to retrieve my... teammate, but I got lost looking for him." Yeah, I guess we are teammates now, I thought to myself. Mhm... This is a team... I am part of a team again... How weird.

"I'm guessing you're not from here." I nodded at his question, no, statement. "Well, we can help each other search for our teammates."

"Thanks, I'd appreciate it... uh..."

"Kuroo Tetsuro, third year," he introduced and I brightly smiled at him.

"Nice to meet you Tetsuro-senpai," I said and his eyes wavered slightly, but he didn't seem that shocked by me using his first name. "I'm Kise (Y/N), first year. You can call me (Y/N)."

"Pleasure (Y/N)," he responded, unfazed. We both shook hands. "So, what does your teammate look like?"

"Um, Shoyo is wearing a white shirt and black shorts, I think. He's short, has orange hair, and is really extroverted. He's like the sunshine in a weird way," I blurted out and I heard Tetsuro-senpai laugh beside me. I laughed with him, his laughter seemed contagious.

"The person I'm looking for is the opposite," Testuro-senpai said after we stopped laughing. "He's really introverted and is always playing video games. He's wearing a red Nekoma jacket."

I blinked. "Nekoma?" I repeated and the male nodded. That's the team we are playing, I thought to myself. So he is part of the team. "What sport do you play?"

"I'm the captain of the volleyball team," Tetsuro-senpai said and my eyes widened. Damn are all volleyball players hot, I thought to myself in a daze before I realized what I was thinking.

"That's amazing," I blurted out. I had respect for team captains due to Sei's influence, so my opinion on Tetsuro-senpai increased greatly. "Being a team captain is a lot of responsibility."

He smiled. "Well yeah, but our team is strong already and there aren't any troublemakers." I hummed in understanding. "What team are you on (Y/N)? You must be a manager if you're looking for a male teammate."

I was about to answer him, but I saw two males in front of us. One of them was Shoyo and the other was a male wearing a red jacket, a backpack on his back which covered the team name engraved on the red jacket. He had dyed hair, black roots which became blond as it went down.

"Kenma!" Tetsuro-senpai shouted and sped walked towards the male, I followed behind him.

"Ah," the male named Kenma said. "It's Kuroo." He then got up and walked towards us. "Until next time Shoyo." He waved at Shoyo and that was when I popped my head from behind Tetsuro-senpai which seemed to shock the two.

"(Y/N)!" Shoyo shouted and I waved at him, giving him a closed eye smile.

"Shoyo I was looking for you." I walked towards him, passing the pudding head male. "Bye guys!" I waved at Tetsuro-senpai and he gave me a smile before we all started to walk away.

"Don't go wandering whenever you like." "Sorry."

"Until next time...?" Shoyo muttered under his breath confused and I threw my arm around his shoulder. "(Y-Y/N)!"

"We were in the middle of a run and you got lost." I smiled, but inside I was seething. "Then this caused Ukai to tell me to go after you which resulted in me getting lost. This caused the domino effect, and now I bet someone else was sent off to look for the BOTH of us." Shoyo shivered under my touch.

"Hinata! (Y/N)!" we both looked over to see Koshi-senpai waving at us.

"Ah, they sent the mom after us," I blurted out with a sweatdrop. "...Of course, it's the mom that always searches for their lost kids."

"Huh what are you walking about (Y/N)?" Shoyo asked me, confused. I shrugged my shoulders, a cheeky smile on my lips.

"They're certainly lively, both during breaks and while sharpening their skills in practice," Takeda-sensei said and I nodded in agreement.

I stood on the sideline with Ukai and him, watching the players. I focused on the players, Tobio, Asashi-senpai, and Shoyo were now serving and Yamaguchi, Ryu-senpai, and Yu-senpai were on their turns to receive. Every player was working hard to improve their skills.

"...Come to think of it, are the Nekoma guys here yet?" Ukai asked which made me focus on the conversation.

"They are probably going to come here today. It seems they've been playing practice matches against a different school everyday in Karasuno Sougou Sports Park," Takeda-sensei answered and I perked up.

"So, the last day is against us," I said and looked at the two older males. "What sort of team is Nekoma?"

"I don't really know about their current team, but in the past they were great at receiving. There weren't any players with outstanding offensive abilities, but they had no gaps in defense. That's nothing like us though!" Ukai laughed and looked at the court, my eyes followed his gaze. "Anyway... As you'd expect from a team called 'the cats,' they have 'flexibility.'"

I hummed and thought back towards the two males from Nekoma that I met. Tetsuro-senpai was tall and muscular, when we were walking his steps were light, so I could see him as being flexible. That other guy though, he seemed to be weak on stamina like me, but his eyes... They were both observant.

Ukai then frowned. "Is something wrong?" Takeda-sensei asked and I sighed. I think I understood the problem.

"Is it about the line-up for the match?" I questioned and Ukai nodded.

"...I can't decide on a setter," he answered, a serious expression donned his face. "If I go with ability then it'd be Kageyama... Sugawara's strength lies in his rapport with Azumane. Even though they have built up that connection since their first year, it's as if Kageyama's talent overcomes even that amount of time in an instant."

I nodded in understanding. "Tobio is a genius... no, a prodigy setter," I mumble under my breath for no one to hear. "...But he isn't a monster prodigy like the six of us."

Ukai continued without noticing what I said. "He makes efficient use of a hard to handle weapon like Hinata, as well as the other spikers. And all that in just under a month... On top of that he has plenty of chances to rest on his laurels and get carried away and impose on others, but he is utterly stoic." I sweatdrop. Ukai really isn't afraid to tell the truth, I think to myself. "As for putting Kageyama as a starting member in the practice match this time, if he can mesh well with Azumane who he's only just started playing with, then I think I'll also use Kageyama as the setter in official matches from here on out. Still, Sugawara's also clearly been working hard all this time and there's the truth the other players have in him..."

"Perhaps that's the reason why you're having trouble deciding," Takeda-sensei said and Ukai looked at him, confused. "It's because you are taking into consideration that Sugawara-kun is a third year?" Ukai flinched and his eyes widened. I narrowed my eyes. "For a third year, this year is their last... It's truly a special... Ah! I'm sorry for saying unnecessary things!"

"What you said wasn't unnecessary," I mumble in reply and Ukai pats my shoulder.

"That just might be why," Ukai replied. "During my three years in highschool, I was only a starting member once and that time was only because my kohai, the regular setter, was injured and couldn't play. Back then, the fact that they didn't let me play in matches was just plain frustrating, still... since I've taken up the role of coach even just temporarily, I can't afford to think like a player..."

I look back at the court, my eyes landing on Koshi-senpai. "...This sort of reminds me of the past..." I whisper.

"We don't need weak players."

"Only the strong win."

"Kise-kun and everyone else are only on the court because they are strong. Weak players don't play in the games."

"Even though we are only second years, because we are stronger than the others, we play while they sit on the bench."

"(Y/N), you should understand that if there is a chance to stand on the court, you should take it."

"Ahhh this is boring, everyone is just so weak."

"(Y/N), you are a prodigy... A monster just like us."

"(N/N) you should know why the girls don't want you on our sports teams anymore! You take our positions and never lose at anything! We can never have fun anymore when you are playing! You're just too good and no one can beat you! You're a monster!"

"(Y/N)." I felt a hand on my shoulder shaking me slightly. I get out of my daze and look over to see Kiyoko-senpai looking at me with a worried expression.

"Sorry Kiyoko-senpai!" I say and forcefully smile at her. "I was just daydreaming, what did you need?"

"I was wondering if you could help prepare dinner with me" she responds, a light hue of pink on her cheeks.

I smile. "Of course!"

It's okay, I think to myself. Just keep on smiling, ignore their whispers. It's okay... As long as I keep smiling then everything will be fine. I can pretend that everything will be fine.

"So, in two days we'll be heading to the rumored Karasuno high school but the question is whether or not our fated rival Karasuno has a female manager!"

"I'll bet a haagen-dazs that they don't!" Yamamoto Taketora declared.

"Eeeeh? I'd be happy if they had one, so I'm going with yes!" Inuoka So said, going against Yamamoto.

"Same for me." Nekoma's first year libero, Shibayama Yuuki agreed with him.

"Bastards! It'd be frustrating as all hell if they've got one when we don't!" Yamamoto shouted at them, making them blurt out a complaint. "If by some chance they do have one, then I'll forgive them if she's some sort of gorilla chick! But if by some twist of fate their manager is a beauty. I'll never forgive them!"

He's teary-eyed, Shibayama and Inuoka thought to themselves as Yamamoto cried before running towards the open window.

"If that's the case, you better be prepared Karasunoooo!" he shouted out of the window.

"Shut up, Yamamoto!!" Kuroo shouted, annoyed at their loud ace.

Yamamoto then turned to Kenma with a smile on his face. "Oi, which d'you think it'll be Kenma?!"

Kenma glanced at his teammate. "I don't really care either way."

"Keh, I figured you'd say that!" Yamamoto spat out and sat down crossed leg on his futon.

"But... I'm kinda looking forward to the match with Karasuno," Kenma said with a slight smile on his face.

Inuoka, Shibayama, and Yamamoto all perked up. They were shocked with their setter's surprising answer. Yamamoto broke out of his shock first. "KENMA, WHO NEVER FEELS LIKE DOING ANYTHING SAYS HE'S LOOKING FORWARD TO A MATCH?!?!"

"Yamamoto if you've got that much energy, how about I make you practice more than everyone else," Kuroo threatened. He was tired and could no longer handle Yamamoto's yelling.

"S-Sorry..."
