Hakim's Underground Hideout

Special Forces Team

Running, he had to run, a friend close beside him.

But where to exactly?

He would be damned if he actually knew.

Most the time, these days he would be running without much of a destination to end his journey. Today, though, he actually did have a faint idea of where he was supposed to go.

"Captain Kyuubi," a soft whisper made the soldier stop in his spot. "Shadow in position, sir."

He pushed the earpiece deeper into his ear, "Good. Big Dog, where are you?"

Two heartbeats later, a deep whisper came through, "All ready for your command, Captain."

Good, now it's his turn to get in onto the action.

He glanced over at his partner from under his helmet, running beside him with equal determination towards the metal door.

"You be careful, you hear me?" the captain said loudly over the heavy clanking of metal under the two pairs of combat boots. "I don't want to be the one to tell your wife that you're dead then go through the trouble of finding another deputy sergeant like you, Paper Fan."

A chuckle erupted from the deputy, "I ain't leaving that early. You're gonna die long before me with all your damned reckless actions, Kyuubi."

The captain smiled, "That's Captain Kyuubi to you."

The metal door drew closer, closer. Captain Kyuubi exchanged one more look with his deputy.

"Then let's save those little kids' asses, hm?"

One step, two step then they leapt. Their feet colliding with the heavy door, bursting it open; only to be greeted with an eruption of millions of bullets heading straight for each of their hearts.

They both rolled behind three metal barrels just in time.

"Too many!" Paper Fan shouted at the top of his lungs.

Captain Kyuubi looked around his hiding spot quickly but then duck his head back in almost immediately. A gunshot flew right by his head just as he looked over the other end.

"Your vision is ten times better than mines," the captain reached into the pocket on the side of his knee, pulling out a pistol. He took the safety off and slid it across the room right into the hands of his deputy. "Try to find Hakim if you can!"

"Rodger!" then the deputy set to work.

"Shadow," the captain went to his small microphone. "Try to count how many men are in the room and how many kids."

"Understood sir."

Grabbing his own pistol from a different secret compartment, Captain Kyuubi set to work himself; successfully picking off several of the men who's guard was fully focused on Paper Fan. Duck, two seconds, returned to action.

"Captain!" his earpiece rang. "There are exactly twenty-three men in the room with you. Ten down already."

"Where are the kids?" he fired off three more shots, hitting a man no more than fifteen feet away right in the shoulders then the right leg.

"I don't see any, sir!"

"What?!" Just then a bullet whistled too close to his ear and buried itself in the metal wall behind him.

The sharp sting told him that he was barely scratched.

"You alright, Captain?!" Paper Fan.

That turned on the dark switch he always had called the Kill Switch, "I have never been better."

"It's my turn."

One more click, he turned around, and applied pressure to the trigger.

"The patient is going into cardiac arrest!" a nurse screamed frantically. "Who is the doctor on duty?!"

Nurses and every single person with a medical degree rushed towards the scene. The patient, an eighty-year-old man with leukemia, went into a seizure the very moment the young nurse was just checking his IV.

The beautiful doctor was busy filling out forms for a previously discharged patient she just attended to.

The senior nurse ran by, grabbing her doctor coat on the way, "Dr. Hyuga!"

She shut the chart, giving the older lady a warm smile. "Let's go."

As they rounded the corner, the doctor in charge automatically demanded, "What happened?"

"H-he was doing just fine, pulse and e-everything then this happened," two other male nurses were trying to keep the patient from falling off.

The nurse was crying now, "I-I don't know what to do!"

Dr. Hyuga laid a calming hand on the nurse's back, "Nothing here is your fault."

"It's all my fault, Doctor! I should've seen that his blood pressure was dropping!" The nurse continued to sob.

The hopelessness behind the nurse's eyes made the doctor sigh a little, a small crooked smile slowly came across her face.

She gently rested her forehead against the young one's, "It's okay. I'll handle it from here. You did a good job."

Then to everybody else, she said sternly, "It's my turn."
