Japanese Military Support Base

Naruto

"Push harder!" I snapped into the air, my voice echoing through the entire camp. "I want to see if any of you ladies can finish fifty in under half a minute!"

I heard someone whimper, "It'll be a hundred if anybody complains."

Grunts began as every single in of the soldiers began pushing their bodies up then down at a rapid pace in sync. I walked around a bit, my hands behind my back watching to see if I can catch any slackers.

"Captain Naruto?"  A woman's voice made me look up. Hanako walked up to me, holding a clipboard.

I glanced back at the soldiers then at the doctor with a smile, "Good morning, Dr. Hanako. How can I help you?"

"I just need you to fill out a few papers to let Tyro return home," she said, fast.

I blinked, "He wants to go home?"

"He has to go home," she sighed. "So can you?"

I'm not the only one to notice that Hanako and the spy got along pretty well. Him leaving must be something that she knew was coming.

Yet she doesn't seem like she's ready to say goodbye. I might not have known Hanako like her team does but I do know her enough that if she spoke fast, something is bothering her.

"How are his injuries?" I asked.

The doctor replied, "They've healed pretty well but there are still some spots of concern."

"Then I don't think we should let him leave just yet," I gently pushed the papers back.

Her eyes widened, "Captain -"

"I want him to be 100% healthy before he goes anywhere," I turned around to face my soldiers. They're already on forty-five?

"Let the prime minister know that since the doctors in this camp have been given all responsibility to make sure he's fit."

Hanako gawked for a bit. It didn't take her long to realize my true intentions behind my order.

"I have to say goodbye to him soon," she sighed with a sad smile, hugging the paperwork into her pink blouse. "Either it's me leaving or him."

That's right they have five days left.

"You like him that much?" I asked.

"Enough to want to spend more time with him," she said, honestly.

Right then, a memory hit me.

Hisao likes her! I mentally smacked my forehead when I also remembered I promised to help him in anyway possible to get his girl but she has eyes for someone else.

And I still haven't told my girl that I leave a week after her.

So exactly who's side am I on in this triangle anyway?

"Captain?" Hanako's voice woke me up from my little confusion.

I blinked at her, "Yes?"

"So what should I do?" She asked.

I have no idea why I'm over thinking this anyway? It's not any of my business yet...

"If you had to choose between two men: one you just met and one that you've known for years who also knows everything about you, who would you choose, Dr. Hanako?" I turned back to my shoulders, all working on their 150 situps.

I could see the doctor tilt her head to the side, "Where is this coming from, Captain?"

"Just out," I looked at her, "of curiosity."

"Um," Hanako drew a breath, her face showing that she is actually thinking. "I'd choose the man I've known for years."

"Why?"

"Because he's known me for years," Hanako said. "And knows how to tolerate me during the entire time as well as staying by my side. A man like that would stay with me forever so I'd choose him."

I had to fight a smile coming to my face.

That was until she scoffed, "But I don't have a man like that in my life."

"What about Dr. Hisao?" I said too fast.

She raised an eyebrow, "What about that idiot."

"Isn't he a man that stayed by your side until now? Does he count?"

A small blush flooded her cheeks when she looked away, "Y-yeah but he's been so in love with Hina that he hasn't paid me much mind when it comes to that category."

"Hey, Hina's mine."

"Yeah we know that," she sighed then shook her head. "I have to go. I'll see you later, Captain."

Later that Night - Naruto's Room

"Hanako-senpai said that?" Hinata looked at me with wide eyes.

Hajime copied his mother's shriek. Then burst out laughing between us.

I nodded, turning to my side so I'm facing her or through Hajime, "I think she might actually really love Hisao but since he loved you -"

"Wait," Hinata's eyes widened a bit as she held up a hand.

Hold on, "Did you not know that Hisao liked you?"

"N-not a clue," she admitted.

Safe to say she only notices me.

"But he likes Hanako-senpai, right?" She murmured. "Wow, my head hurts."

I reached up and bumped my forehead to hers gently, "Then you should rest."

"With Hajime still awake?" She giggled. "He'd only pull my hair."

The kid giggled again as if in agreement.

I lifted Hajime and placed him on my bare chest before exhaling once. He's gotten a little use to the sound of my heartbeat now so he's not freaking out. I don't know, it might actually soothe him as well.

"Better?" I asked as she moved closer to me, her/my white shirt touching my side.

"Much," my girlfriend sighed heavily.

I kissed her hair once.

Oh shoot! I forgot to tell her.

"I leave a week after you," I said.

"What?"

"When we leave Eskon," I sighed. "I have to make sure everything is cleaned and ordered before I can come home."

Hinata didn't say anything for a few heartbeats. Only when Hajime yawned did she say, "Well we've been apart for ten years before. What does a few days do anyway?"

"You sure you're okay?"

Hinata turned to me, her unique eyes reflecting the beautiful moonlight that shone through my window, "Then we can actually start our future together."

"I would really like that," my lips touched hers softly.

Eskon International Airport - 5 days later

Hinata

I looked around, making sure all the baggage and luggage we came with were with us. I then proceeded on taking some mental pictures of my final moments on the ground of this country.

I never would've thought, day one three months ago, that I would ever miss this place. Especially the moment when I recognized the Special Force team members and thought my life was doomed.

Who would've ever thought I wouldn't want to leave? I've made friends with several soldiers, got back together with Naruto, "had" a son, and really would've liked to stay a few months more.

Hajime was spending his last moments in his father's arms while I made sure I made a mental checklist. Some of the men wanted to keep my son here something about making him into a real man. But of course, I didn't allow it.

"Mina," I turned to the first year beside me. "You're in charge of Kazuki. Where is that boy anyway?"

She simply pointed straight ahead through the crowd. He was put in a headlock my Kiba and a few of the other soldiers around him were laughing their heads off.

"Don't lose him," I replied.

Mina sighed, "I couldn't if I tried."

What did you mean by that?

But before my brain could send the signals to ask that question, she was already making her way towards the group of soldiers and Kazuki. The men automatically turned into flirt mode and teased the emotionless doctor.

"When you said that being stationed in Eskon would come with random adventures," I turned towards Naruto's direction just in time to hear Sasuke sigh, "I had never even imagined taking care of your kid would be included in the travel package."

Naruto bounced Hajime once and kissed the baby's head, "Well he's one of the best things to have ever happened to me here. That and getting Hinata back."

Someone grabbed my shoulder, directing my attention somewhere else. The familiar emerald eyes sparkled, making myself smile.

"Ready to go?" Sakura, Ino and the other medics were all heading home with us as well since their job was done here, too.

I nodded, "Done."

"Then get your son and let's go!" She said.

I gave her the clipboard in my hand before walking over to my boyfriend who was still boosting about Hajime and how he changed his first diaper literally three days ago. He's been happily taking over diaper duty ever since.

I'm not complaining at all.

"Time to go," I announced as I walked up to the captain and the deputy.

Sasuke looked at me, "I always thought Sakura and I would a kid before you two ever do."

I couldn't help but blush at his words. We weren't the married couple yet we already have -

"Hey," Naruto smacked Sasuke's head. "Leave my girl alone."

The deputy glared at his captain before continuing, "I was just saying goodbye to Hinata. I'm only surprised that she ever let an idiot like you back into her life."

"But you did make a good choice," Sasuke said before wandering off to find his wife.

Naruto's face cringed in disgust, "I hate him."

"No, you love him to death because he's Sasuke-kun," I chuckled.

"No," He leaned down, kissing me once. "I love you to death."

If Hajime wasn't frailing his little chubby arms around in Naruto's arms right now, I would grab the captain and kissed the life out of him. But with the many wandering eyes and the twoish week old baby, I didn't.

"Oh!" Naruto shifted Hajime into one arm before reaching into his camouflage pants with the other. He produced two keys on a single chain.

"Here," I held out a hand so he could put the cold metal objects on my hand.

"W-what is it for?"

"My apartment," he chuckled, nervously. "I know that we still need to find a home and everything when I get back but for now...I was hoping that you might want to live in mines until we can decide?"

It's cute he looked so nervous like he did right now. I liked that I had this kind of effect on the cool, collected captain. Some of his men told me it made him less intimidating then he pretends to be.

I closed my fingers around them, "Then I-I'll see you at home, Naruto-kun."

The blue eyes widened then softened completely. The warmth in them made me want to melt on the spot. I could also see he was trying not to explode with complete excitement.

"I'll see you at home," he kissed me once more. "Hinata."
