Special Patient's Room

Hinata

My head nodded and jerked me awake suddenly. What the hell is going on?

I'm sitting...okay but what else?

Oh that's right, I'm sitting in the son's room waiting for him to wake up and for that doctor that was supposed to be here but because the patient was taken under our care, he decided to take his time.

Hanako-senpai was sitting beside the patient, watching him intently when I scanned the room once. Sakura, who was also supposed to be here, well... wasn't.

"Hey," I said gently.

Hanako-senpai blinked once, "Hey sorry. Sakura went out to get us some food."

"How long was I out?"

"A good hour," she looked at her watch. "It's three thirty now."

"Then it's your turn to get some rest," I replied.

She shook her head, "I'll keep watch. You should sleep some more."

"You sure?" I asked. "Sleeping is essential for some energy, Senpai."

"I have plenty," she sighed. "You lost all of it taking care of him. I still feel really bad for letting you take care of everything so this is the least I can do."

I chuckled, "You owe me nothing."

"But upon splitting the blame," Hanako-senpai looked at me, "I will take some of it as well. I was there and therefore, I am also responsible."

"Hanako-senpai -"

A soft groan made us both jump to our feet. I thought it was some kind of ghost if I were to be honest but Hanako-senpai was already looking at the patient. I rushed over to her side and scanned the IV monitor right away. His heart rate and his blood pressure are all normal, everything is normal.

"Sir," Hanako-senpai called. "Sir, are you awake?"

Opening his eyes even looked a little hard for him but he was able to look at me then at Senpai. They were half opened but he managed a single nod, breathing lightly to the nasal cannula covering his face.

"Then that's good," Senpai smiled at the agent.

I could see the small smile he attempted under the mask.

The relief that filled me was beyond unexplainable. The first few hours were the first crucial and now that he's awake, well and even nodding; that means:

The surgery was a success.

Sakura returned moments later with two trays of food. When she saw the smile that was on the older doctor's face and mines as well, she nearly threw the trays in joy. Instead, she set them down on the table and ran out to get the guard; screaming at the top of her lungs almost waking the entire medicure.

I could only sit back down and laugh in utter disbelief. The surgery was a simple procedure but the pressure that went along with the entire situation made the entire operation the most stressful operation I have ever done.

An old man with a giant briefcase came in a few minutes later with heavy glasses and a grim expression. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that he must've been the doctor in charge of taking care of this agent. Hanako-senpai backed up to give him space to examine the patient. With a glare, he set down his briefcase and set to work.

He said a few things in his native tongue to the agent. The agent only nodded once but because of the mask, he couldn't say anything. I find it funny. We've spent hours together and I have yet to hear what this man's voice sounds like.

"With all due respect sir," Senpai suddenly started talking to the doctor. "How did you miss a third bullet in him? It could've killed Tyko while we were waiting for you to show your face here."

I looked at her wide-eyed. She's not only talking now; no talking is too old school. She's accusing this old doctor.

And how the hell did she learn his name? Oh wait... his medical charts. Wait, I thought that information was classified. I had to go with my gut feeling because I didn't even know any of his pre-conditions.

The doctor looked at us, "Excuse me?"

"You heard me, sir," Hanako-senpai took a step towards him but I literally had to hold her back.

"Okay, that's enough, Senpai," I pulled her back. "Is there anything wrong with him?"

Thankfully, the doctor was too tired to pick a fight with us, "The surgical wound is closed very neatly and his vitals seem normal. A job well done."

"Yeah way bet-"

I slapped a hand over her mouth, "We want to keep him here to keep an eye on him."

The old man looked hesitant but he nodded once, "I am returning home then."

"Nice meeting you," I called after him.

I finally released Senpai, embarrassed and confused with the way she's acting. I have thousands of burning questions for her and she knew it because she faked a yawn.

"I'm tired," she announced. "I'll get Mina and Kazuki to keep an eye on him. Bye!"

"Senpai!" but she was gone.

I sighed. She's acting too fishy that I don't even know how to deal with her. The last time she acted like this -

Oh my gosh! This is the first time I had to deal with her like this. Even during her time of month she isn't this difficult and she'd be chucking picture frames at Kazuki for asking her what she wanted him to pick up as a snack.

What is going on here?

Japan's Main Operating Base - Hakjon

I cringed every time something was slammed or shouted at. I was sitting outside the tent of the commander... the very scary commander that put on a gentleman demeanor whenever I'm around or any of my team. He didn't know I was here today with Naruto for our daily little supply pick up otherwise he would've kept his act in place.

The commander gave the command (ha) to let Naruto go last night when Sasuke reported that Tyko was awake and doing well. We just needed him to stay in base for a few more days to monitor his process and maybe even try to give some rehab before he had to return home.

"Dismissed!" Echoed through the air as Naruto left almost ready to burst into laughing. I stood up from my seat to greet him but then he laughed like there was no tomorrow.

"Get out of here bastard!" a book was chucked at Naruto who didn't even have time to duck so yeah, it hit in the back of the head.

Naruto looked around just in time to dodge another flying object at him. When the third thing was chucked at him, he finally grabbed my hand and ran towards the car. My idiotic boyfriend opened the door, shoved me (gently) inside, then shut the door. He waved at a few people before he jumped into the driver's side and drove off at full speed into Hakjon.

"What happened?" I asked.

Naruto was trying to calm himself, "Ehhh I only have to wake up at exactly four o'clock and run twenty-five miles every single morning then once more before bed for the next week."

That sounds deadly...

"I'm dragging Sasuke down with me," he finally grumbled.

"Hey don't make him suffer your punishment," I scoffed then sighed, looking ahead at the citizens of Eskon wandering aimlessly through the streets. "If anyone had to run that fifty miles with you it would be me."

The captain shook his head, "It's okay. It's just a meaningless punishment because I decided to run things my way. I'm gonna take full responsibility, believe it."

"You sure?" I asked. "I could always go to the commander and ask him to not punish you. He tends to listen to me."

Naruto patted my head twice, "I said it's okay. Actually, I'm starving! Let's get some lunch!"

Of course everything goes back to his stomach.

"Alright," I smiled at him. "Lunch it is."

Town of Hakjon

Naruto

I took Hinata to the fanciest place in all of Hakjon but I completely forgot that the waiters and waitresses were also part time strippers. Hey, I'm not saying I come here often but I know this waitress that gives me all the information I need to know about Eskon's underground gangs or any targets my team is assigned to take care of.

I could tell my girlfriend wasn't the happiest when the waitress kept winking and talking to me. She barely acknowledge Hinata and let's just say Hinata really wanted to get out of there even though the food was to die for.

I handed the Eskon currency to the waitress, "That should be enough."

"You owe me so much more then this, Naruto," she said, her voice seductive. "But I'll let it slide since we're friends."

I chuckled nervously, "Thanks, Kimmy."

"So that woman," Kimmy inclined her head towards Hinata who was waiting outside while I paid. "Is she the 'special' person you spoke so highly about?"

I nodded, "The one and only."

"She doesn't seem very fond of me."

"Well, she's my girlfriend so she doesn't really understand the relationship between us," I looked at Hinata who was talking to some of the kids with a smile on her face. "One day, maybe."

Kimmy only tied her blonde hair back in a ponytail, "Don't keep her waiting."

"Thanks again!"

I jogged out of the restaurant to Hinata. She gently rubbed the kid's head once then the kid ran off screaming thank you at the top of his lungs. The doctor didn't even notice me until I decided to give her a hug from behind and kiss her cheek.

"Took you long enough," she scoffed, before setting to work putting her hair in the ponytail and flicking my face a few times with her hair.

Can't get rid of me that easily, sweetheart.

"Aww," I tightened my grip. "Miss me?"

"N-no," she looked the other way when she finished. "You should've probably stayed a little longer. Your friend might want to rub your back too."

Wait, is Hinata jealous of Kimmy? I never thought I'd live to see the day where Hinata is actually jealous of attention I receive from another woman. It makes her even more irresistible that she wants me all to herself and nobody else.

"Nah," I sighed. "I'll only accept a back rub from you."

Hinata turned in my grip so she was facing me, "Really?"

"Yep," I nodded once with a big smile. "You're the only one that can touch me. Plus, Kazuki said you give killer back rubs."

"Of course I do," she smiled.

"Good then," I took her hand in mines. "Let's go get some of those supplies then you can give me that back rub when we get back to base, alright?"

We walked through town for a bit; mainly to browsing and roaming to random places. Sometimes she'd make me stop while she bought some food for some of the locals. Hinata fed a starving family of four with a dying grandfather and another group of random orphans running around in the streets. All the while, she smiled widely and it looked like she was giving a few pointers on what to eat then what not to eat off the streets while I stood by, thumbs hooked on my weapon belt watching her and scanning our surrounding for any danger; my protective boyfriend senses turned on high.

But my attention for most the time remained on the doctor, of course. She's Hinata Hyuga and I can never take my eyes off of her. Not again.

I barely felt a smile come on my face since it felt so natural whenever I'm around her. I smile when I'm around her; I fling books and fifty page reports at my soldiers while cursing them out when I'm not.

It's not rocket science. Hinata is what makes me happy every single day. Ever since she got here, I have enjoyed every single day of my supposed to be damned life. I guess the universe owes me big time for something because this is the second chance I should never deserve. A woman like Hinata was able to tame a man like Naruto... well done Universe. You really do know how to balance things out.

But despite how much I know that my actions and my words brought tears to both our eyes I always know that no matter where she is or how much time we're apart; no matter what happens...

I know we will always somehow find a way back to each other.

"Hey," I called over to her, shielding my eyes a bit with one of my hands so I could see her a little better.

The love of my life looked at me and what appears to be like she was giggling with some of the little boys she was talking to after giving them some of the bread she bought from the nearby bakery and left a pretty big tip. Hinata bit her bottom lip a bit so she could not erupt into laughter again with her hands on her knees so she was speaking at the children's height.

I, on the other hand, had to bite my bottom lip so I don't storm over there and kiss the living lights out of her in front of some children. That would not be very responsible adult behavior on my part.

I should start though, if one day...

I wonder what kind of father I would be. And I'll be lying if I said I haven't thought about a future with Hinata. Every moment when I'm not with her, I think about the next time I'll get to see her then the next, then the next until one day I just imagined coming home from a assignment and having two little toddlers running into my arms followed by Hinata coming in right behind them saying how much she missed me beside her in our bed at night and how much she loves me.

Which can never be completed with a, Welcome home, Naruto-kun.

What am I doing to myself? Giving myself so much hope...dammit; She might not even say yes when I propose. This is so unlike me. Sasuke said I was going to be alone forever loving her with Hinata hating me forever. Well, I know Hinata doesn't hate me but -

"Are you ready to run?" I inclined with my head once I returned to this reality. "Come on, we have to get back to base."

That doesn't mean that I won't be forever alone and still madly head over heels for her.

The beautiful goddess was about to say something but then one of the little girls tugged her sleeve a bit, "Doctor, is that tall, handsome man your husband?"

I raised an eyebrow with a small smile. That's a first.

"Um," Hinata looked at me once, her unique eyes reflecting something that I can never forget which was accompanied with a small little blush on her cheeks. She giggled once more before returning her attention to the children who were all suddenly interested about the gracious doctor's love life.

  "No."

See? I knew it! I knew it! I even had to nod once to accept it myself. I knew it! I kne-

That was before those beautiful eyes found mines again and this time the glittered with love that I knew she never lost for me. "But I'm hoping, one day; in the near future."

...oh...Oh...Hold on! I'm dreaming, right?

Does she have some kind of super power that let's her read my mind o-or something 'cause I think she just-she just-

D-d-d-d-did Hinata just say that she'd marry me?! S-she'll marry me?! Hinata wants to m-m-m-marry me!!! She wants to be my wife! Yes! This is by far, the best day of my life!

Believe it, world! Hinata Hyuga wants to be my bride!!!!

"Is that you, Kyuubi?"

And just like that, all my future happiness sank with those four icy words coming from a mouth I never thought could ever speak another word ever again.

I killed him.

I swear I killed him.

I shot the bullet that ripped through his heart.

I killed that son of a bitch but why is his voice still everywhere?

"No wait, it's Captain Kyuubi now, right?"

I couldn't move to fast afraid that he probably had already had a gun pulled on me just as we speak right now. But I know for sure I murdered him.

The sight before me was something I have always dreaded. An old mentor; someone you trusted so much that you never ever saw a dark side to him. I fought with Sasuke, Sai and my entire team about him. I fought with the commander, I defended that son of a bitch with every power I had...

Only to find out months later that he was the head of the crime underworld here in Eskon that is so good in making the citizens run in fear whenever he roams the streets.

I couldn't bare to look but to make sure that I wasn't some crazy bastard I did. And I regretted it immediately.

Indeed there he was, surrounded by five guys in opened collar shirts and cheap sweaters all with a cigar in their mouths. One; the one with orange hair, the most unique one since I've seen him only months before in the streets begging for money had a gun tucked in his waistband and he wasn't afraid to show me.

All Eskon citizens, no, victims and children that didn't have the privileged of growing up with someone telling them to run with the right crowd.

But the main culprit that should be six feet under ground stood there as if seeing me is the best thing that has ever happened to him.

"You look so well," his red eyes never left mines.

"Why are you..." I could barely talk. The years of anger and frustration was all

"Oh? Is the great Kyuubi tongue-tied," he chuckled. "That's a sound I never thought I'd hear again.

"Why are you fucken alive?!" I narrowed my eyes, I could only see red at this man. That is all.

He only chuckled once more.

"Why are you still walking this world when you should be rotting in hell for all your sins, Nagato?!"
