Naruto's Special Beach

Naruto

Pit me against some giant gorilla or in front of a pistol but what I just did was probably the stupidest thing I have ever did.

I don't know how much time has passed but these seconds felt like days while I stood here with my hand covering Hinata's mouth and my shoulders raising and falling. I am too afraid to let go since she might say something that caused me so much pain like she did ten years ago.

And here's the puncher: Hinata's right.

Something suddenly nipped my palm. I jolted back a good few inches and waved my hands wildly; completely confused.

"Did you just bite me?" I looked at my palm then back at her.

"Hisao-senpai taught me that," she gave me a small smile. "More effective then licking your palm."

Damn that guy is good.

"Naruto-kun," the doctor started.

Here it comes... here it comes.

I looked at the sand; afraid that if I did look at her while she gave me a response, I would break down right in front of her and not be able to get back up this time. Last time, it was hard enough. I don't think I can handle it a second time.

Soft, small hands carcassed my cheeks, "Hey, look at me."

I looked at the unique eyes that made me absolutely crazy.

"It's true that that bet was something that hurt me beyond repair," she said, gently. "I wanted to hate you but I never could. I can never hate you, Naruto-kun."

Her thumb stroked my whisker-birthmarks once, "I was just more...disappointed that you would do such a thing in the first place."

"And I wish I never did," I took her wrist in my own. "I just want you beside me again, Hinata. I know I can't promise that I won't do anything stupid ever again but I will do everything I can to avoid it."

Hinata blinked a few times to stop her tears from dropping.

"Please," I dug my cheek into the palm of her hand. "Just give me one more chance and I'll be a man you will never be disappointed with."

"Naruto-kun," her eyes looked around my entire face.

"Please," my voice cracked.

"I can't," Hinata murmured.

My heart almost completely shattered. A single tear rolled off my eye.

"I-I can't, not yet," she finished, wiping that tear, "In the future but just not yet."

My heart which was this close to breaking suddenly mended, "Y-you're saying I still have a chance to change your mind?"

Dr. Hyuga sighed with a single nod, "We'll be friends for now."

Hey it isn't a no.

I shut my eyes once more and pressed my cheek deeper into her hand; smiling when I looked at woman I love once again, "I will not disappoint, believe it!"

Japanese Military Support Base

Hinata

I slump down in the dining room chair and sighed loudly before resting one side of my head on the wooden material. Who knew spending a few hours with Naruto is so much more tiring then a whole day in the emergency room. It's been what, two days? And I'm still as lost as could be.

I said we were friends for now but I think he took it as he has three days to win my heart over once again.

Oh Boi you got another things coming if you think you can do that.

A giant slam caused my entire body to jump up.

"You scared me, Kazuki," I blinked at the first-year.

It wasn't too big of a box but it was big enough. He tapped it twice, "This is for Deputy Uchiha. You wanna radio it to him."

"Why me?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Because you're the only one with the walkie," he smiled and tapped the box twice more. "I'm gonna go get some dinner ready, okay Senpai?"

That is true. Shikamaru thought it'd be a good idea I kept a communicator on me just in case I really needed something from any of the soldiers.

I pulled the device out of the waistband of my shorts, "What's for dinner, Kazuki?"

"It's a surprise," Kazuki winked then literally skipped into the kitchen.

I smiled at his childish actions. It truly will be a miracle when he actually grows up. Naruto was right; he sure does know how to light a room.

"Pretty Eye Doctor to Deputy Paper Fan, over," I winced when I said my code name. Shikamaru also thought it'd be hilarious if I had a code name and Naruto was walking by when that happened.

"Pretty Eye Doctor," was all Naruto said. "That's her code name and it's not changing." Then he walked on.

So I'm stuck with that every single time I decide to use the walkie.

"Deputy Paper Fan answering, over," Sasuke's voice came through seconds later. "Can I help you with something, Pretty Eye Doctor?"

I stood up; examining the exterior of the box. I didn't miss the little note written on top in kanji with a little heart next to it.

I never knew Sasuke had a little sister back at home.

"There is a package here for you from a," I pulled the little delivering sheet that was taped to the top off, "Oh from a Nakamura Akira back in Tokyo."

Wait if they're siblings then why do they have different last names?

The communicator came back on with a pretty frantic sounding Sasuke, "W-where are you, Hinata!? Are you with the package?!"

"What happened to the code names?" I poked the package a few more times. "I'm in the dining hall and no the package has not run away from me yet, over."

When Sasuke didn't say anything else, I put the walkie down.

But just as I did, the box suddenly disappeared from my sight.

Woah, it really did run away from me.

"Sakura!" I whipped around to find the medic looking at the box with some kind of killer look in her eye.

"When did you get this, Hina?" she asked, shaking the box once.

"Hey careful," I said, taking box away from her. "You might break something. And I just got it from Kazuki literally a minute before I radioed him."

I put the box down, "Did you run all the way here from the medicure?"

Sakura nodded before pulling out a pocket knife and cutting the tape open.

"Hey," I am so confused right now, "I know you're married and everything but it's for Sasuke-kun from his sister."

"Sasuke only has an older brother," Sakura replied opening the flaps frantically. "And they hate each other."

"So who is Akira Nakamura then?" I asked.

"That's what I want to find out."

I watched my friend dig through the box for a few seconds before pulling out a photograph. Her face got more and more angrier as she read the little note on the back.

Wait, hold on a minute.

I snatched the photo away from her and trust me, I cannot believe my eyes.

"W-why is Naruto-kun in this photo, too?" I asked her. "And who are the two girls that are with them?"

The damned photo had Naruto and Sasuke sitting beside two girls in a restaurant. The girls were smiling so wide that their faces might break off while the two soldiers just stared blankly at the camera. But the fact that they're with the girls...

"Let's read the note," Sakura flipped it over in my hand and read aloud over my shoulder, "'Good luck our tall, handsome soldiers and fight well for our country. We look forward to seeing the both of you when you come home... Love and kisses, Akira-chan and Eiko-chan.'"

"Tall?" I scoffed.

"Handsome?!" Sakura scoffed.

We looked at the photo a few seconds longer. And the longer we stared the more my blood boiled with the anger and jealousy I didn't know existed in me.

They're on a first name basis, too.

"Sakura-chan," I growled.

"Yes, Hinata?" she growled at me.

"Grab your gun," I hissed. "We're going to murder those two idiots first then find where these girls live."

"Way ahead of you," she replied.

Just then, the door burst open and the heavy sounds of running footsteps made us both turn around, crossing our arms at the same time.

They were both sweating and panting heavily so they, too, sprinted from wherever they were hanging out at.

"Did you have a nice run, Naruto-kun?"

"It's not what you think!" Sasuke said first.

"Not at all!" Naruto met my eyes.

I narrowed them, "Really? How do you know what we're thinking then?"

"You told me you needed a week home to help your family with some stuff, Sasuke," Sakura showed them the photo. "Don't try and tell me that this is your cousin who had a major concussion that you needed to fly all the way home for."

"That is her, honey," Sasuke replied.

"Really?" Sakura pointed. "So which one is her then?"

Naruto looked at his deputy who exchanged a look of panic at the same time.

"Right or left? Answer at the same time," the medic is evil, I like it.

"Right!" Naruto.

"Left!" Sasuke.

I rolled my eyes once. I cannot believe this is happening.

"No, Left!" Naruto.

"Right!" Sasuke.

Okay they can shut up now.

"I'm sorry, baby," Sasuke apologized, holding his head low. "But when I went to see her she completely forgot I was married and wanted to set Naruto up with someone so she called two of her friends."

Naruto whipped his head around at the deputy, "Are you seriously going to let a fellow soldier sink alone like that?"

"Yes sir," Sasuke nodded once. "Sorry, sir."

The deputy turned on his heels and sped walked out of the place.

"Hey! I'm not done with you yet!" Sakura snapped; causing her husband to full on sprint out the doors with her hot on his tail. "Hey! Come back here, bastard!"

Naruto looked at me, nervously right when the door shut, "I can explain."

"You don't need to," I replied, pushing past him, "We're only friends and you can see anybody. I really don't care."

No, I care. I care a lot.

I asked him to keep the relationship between us a friendship and yet here I am; pathetically getting upset when I see him with some other woman. I truly am pathetic.

Where am I, exactly?

"Hinata!" Naruto's voice echoed in the distance then within seconds right behind me. "Hinata, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

"I told you already," I looked at him; forcing a smile. "You don't have to explain."

"But I have to," he said. "I have to, please."

"It's okay," I said. "You don't have to explain, Naruto-kun. I don't need an explanation."

My phone beeped twice signalling there's a patient I need to look at waiting for me, "Hey. I have to go. We can talk later, okay?"

I turned my back to him taking two steps.

But that was all I could take.

His arms, despite one still recovering from almost being chopped off, snatched my entire body like a sack of feathers and pulled me against his stronger body. Once my back was against his muscular chest, those arms secured my entire body against him without any room to escape.

"What are you doing, Naruto-kun?!" I murmured, feeling a little frantic. Anybody can round that corner and catch us in this position.

I don't want pointless assumptions and rumors to spread through this base like wildfire.

"I can't-please don't," his voice cracked.

Oh my God I hate it when his voice cracks. It weakens me so much that I literally give in to him every single time. Naruto is very vulnerable when it happens and I always end up wanting to do everything I can to cure him.

So what I did was relax against his embrace.

"Please don't turn your back on me, too," he snuggled against the crook of my neck. "Never turn your back on me. I don't think I can handle it again."

"Naruto-kun," I bit my lip. "It's not like I'm leaving you. I said we can talk later."

"But the first sign of someone wanting to leave you," the captain whispered as if he completely ran out of energy to speak normally. "Is when they turn their back to you."

"Hey," I said softly, twisting in his arms so I'm looking at him. "I'm never leaving you again, alright? Don't worry."

I gave him a smile as reassurance, "I'll always be here for you."

And I'm not saying this just to make him let go. I'm saying this from deep down and I meant every word. Naruto needs to know that when the entire world turns their back on him, I will be the one that won't. I will now always be the one that he can trust to never leave him.

"Thank you, Hinata," he smiled, pulling me into a crushing hug.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and smile into it, "Don't mention it."
