Achilles had fallen in Troy after the funeral of Hector. Cowardly Paris ambushed the great hero and shot an arrow, which guided by Apollo hit the great hero in the only mortal spot of his body; the heel. Achilles fell dead and was carried to Hades by Thanatos where he crossed the River after his body had been buried next to his beloved Patroclus.

Achilles set foot in the Elysium Fields and immediately his eyes searched the grassy plains and groups of heroes loitering all around. He was searching for his brave Patroclus who he was sure must be in the Fields of Heroes.

Patroclus, meanwhile was still ignorant of his Achilles' death and spent his days in Hades idly, thinking of his companion.

"Patroclus." The great hero whispered when he saw his friend after what felt like an eternity apart. The older man turned his head and a serene smile spread on his lips.

"Achilles. I was almost afraid the Fates would let you go." The brave man smiled at his hero and took his hand.

"I did everything you asked." God-like Achilles whispered as Patroclus stood close to him, with barely an inch between them.

"Thank you.", the brave man whispered and he captured his lover's lips in a kiss that promised eons.

I took pieces of speech from Homer's Illiad, but indicated Book and Line for reference.

I hope you enjoyed this little one-shot of Achilles and Patroclus' love that even though never explicitly mentioned is, I think, clear as day. The relationship between these two heroes has been disputed many a times and I do not expect you to share my opinion but in my eyes Achilles' reaction to Patroclus' death is an action that definitely speaks for itself.
