"By any chance, are you guys thinking what I'm thinking!?" Asked Luke in a slightly terrified voice. "Don't tell me you just thought that we're in a game!!"
"Follow the star" said Stacy with a low voice. "huh!?" I asked as I couldn't process what she was tryna say. "It says to follow the star, right here, look?" Said Stacy grabbing our attention to the pop up.
But little did we know, it vanished into thin air making the same sound as Mark pressed the ok button as the rest of us glared at him as he said "what??"
"Leave it guys, let's focus on what it said rather having a fight now alright?" Luke said glaring at Stacy. "Fine! my energy is all drained out anyways" said Stacy making side eyes to Mark. "Guys so listen up" started Luke placing both of his on the kitchen counter, leaning forward as the rest of us gathered around as he continued, "I know we all are really confused right now as more stuffs get added on top of another making it hard, but in order to get out of this mess we need to figure this out by ourselves. And to be honest, I guess we're stuck in a game" said Luke.
"But you said we were in a different dimension!!" I said still not processing anything. "Yeah but that was just an assumption I made when I thought about everything from the start, and seems like I'm wrong about that." Luke said.
"Wait, it's true, it makes sense now. Remember the sound Anna heard from before? She said it sounded like a game" said Mark which caused Stacy to open up as well as she said "Yeah, me too, I guess that's what I heard too"
"But what was the time traveling thing you Said about at first Luke? That is the whole reason why you guys are grown ups now" I asked to get things clear.
"I don't know about that either Anna, but the only thing I know for now is that the only way is to follow these instructions."Said Luke
"But hey I got a question. Why didn't the person that sent the letter say about following the star when he said about finding the key?" "But came as that thing in the game?" Said Luke right after what Stacy said.
"Probably this person wanted us to know that we were in a game??" I said still with a question mark. "Guys but that's not the problem, where tf are we gonna find the star?" Asked Mark causing us to think a bit.
"I don't fucking know dude. This is hella messed up" said Luke with a stressful voice as he proceeded to the balcony to get some fresh air while running both of his hands through his hair.
*Luke's pov*
I was almost about to let out the tears formed in my eyes due to the stress and all these mess when suddenly I saw a kid smiling at me weirdly, looking up to where I was. The kid wore a huge black hoodie, which was clearly double his size, and a pair of black jeans with what it seemed like. He had black straight hair which covered up half his face making it look even more creepier.
I looked at the kid confusingly as suddenly he started giggling out of nowhere and ran off turning back. That's when I noticed the print on the back of his hoodie, it was a star, a golden star. "Follow the star" I almost whisper talked to myself when it clicked me.
"GUYS WE GOTTA GO, NOW!!" I shouted to the others as Anna said "what? Where?!"
"No time to explain Anna. You guys should come with me. Now!!!!" And with that I literally dragged the three of them downstairs.
But as soon as we reached downstairs we had already lost the kid.
*end of Luke's pov*
*Anna's pov*
We were discussing about more stuffs as we decided to give Luke some time to get things right in his head. He must be terrified about everything that happened, after all he was alone. Suddenly, I heard luke shouting as he said "GUYS WE HAVE TO GO, NOW!!"
"what?where to?!" I tried asking him with a confused look which did not actually help. He literally dragged us downstairs in such a hurry as if he saw something outside.
But as soon as we reached down I saw his face, which almost had a surprised look, now turning in to concern and anger. "Could you atleast say what happened Luke??!! What is itt!???" I tried asking.
"I saw a kid in a black hoodie smiling at me creepily back then when I was in the balcony, but suddenly he started giggling and ran off. But that's not the thing, he had this huge golden star printed on the back of his hoodie. I guess its that kid who we have to follow. Remember? Follow the star!!" He said with some hope lighting his eyes.
"Where did he run off to?" I asked so that we could go to that direction. "I guess its this way, come" he said pointing towards, what it seemed like a buisy street with a lot of stalls and people buying stuffs.
We began running nonstop until we see the kid. Atlast Stacy stopped all of us when she said "There, there he is" pointing towards a narrow, dark alley with wet floor and water droplets dripping from above.
The kid was watching us, just standing there with his hands in the pocket and head low which had a creepy smirk plastered to his face. Without wasting another second we started going for the kid but suddenly he again started running when we got close.
"Godd is he working on a marathon or something. Doesn't he know how to walk" murmured Mark panting pathetically. "Just shut up and follow Mark " I said with a chuckle.
We were still following the kid even after which felt like a decade to me when suddenly the kid stopped in front of a candy store. He then turned back at us and gave us a card which said "Mr. Bobby's candy" and with that the kid ran off leaving us confused and stranded in the middle of nowhere,only to dissappear into thin air, or that's what it felt like.
"Tf? Does he want us to buy candy or something?" Said Mark with an annoyed tone. "I don't know, should we get in?" I asked panting so bad. "I mean, what else can we supposedly do?" Asked Stacy with a blank face.
And with that we decided to enter the store. The store felt like it was in its 90s.
It was so hypnotizingly colourful and had this strong candy scent which was obsessing to me as a candy lover myself.
As soon as we entered we saw an old man, probably in his 60s or 70s, behind the well stacked colourful candies. "So good to see you kiddos, I'm Micheal from CTM. Big fan of candies?" The old mahn asked with a loud shrieky voice. We all looked at each other confused and scared to be honest cuz no one knows what shit's gonna happen next as the old mahn continued "na tell me kiddos, do u prefer watermelon or strawberry?" Not knowing whether to answer him or not, Mark replied "watermelon"
"Sure thing kid" the man said when suddenly he came with 4 candies that were in a dark grape colour. He stretched out his hand with candies to us indicating to take one each. "Are you sure we have to eat this? Is it gonna be safe?" Asked Luke bending over to me sideways in a low voice. "I-.." as soon as I could finish what I was going to say "Oh you don't have any other choices, do you?" Asked the old man to Luke as if he heard what he said to me.
He was true. Did we have any other choice?!.
Each of us took one from his hand to eat. While everyone put theirs into their mouth I still had a wrong feeling. The old guy's creepy weird smile making it doubtful on top of that. Keeping the thoughts aside I ate it as well.
"Anna why do u have two heads?!" Asked Mark "Ha dummy cuz you are passing out" said Stacy with a chuckle where I could only hear them in a faded voice.
"Welcome to CTM kiddos. Good luck"
