Fuck! Kenma groaned aloud as he laid on the hardwood flooring of his bedroom. His blonde hair that he so desperately wanted to grow out was sprawled around him like a crown.

He always admired the people who could openly voice the way they feel easily with anyone. The people who were naturally loud and vocal. He hated how small he felt anytime he didn't speak.

However, due to his quiet ways, he was extremely observant. He saw things for what they truly were. He knew the effect his words and actions would have on people before he ever acted on them.

A gift, really. Or maybe a curse.

Kenma knew all the shit that Lexi bitch was spewing, the lies and the tall tales. At first he had let her because who really gives a fuck? If she wants to be a storyteller, she can spew all the nonsensical narratives she wants.

And when she had texted him a few weeks ago, he thought it was funny that the girl who could never shut her mouth was trying to befriend him after all those years.

Contrary to what she keeps mouthing to people, he was never close to her. They were in a study group together and on off days they would play some video games, however it was always alongside Kuroo and some other friends. He never intended for any of this.

Kenma knew why Y/n was mad; she was delicate and sensitive, and hearing that he had reconnected with a supposed past lover was heart-shattering.

He kept thinking about that face she made when he told her he had been texting Lexi all those times. You could see the way her heart nearly stopped. And that's what shattered him.

He wasn't going to lie to her, one thing about Kenma is he isn't a liar. He prayed that she knew that. He prayed she wouldn't take any of Lexi's words into consideration.

Their relationship already had so many rocky starts and Kenma was desperate to smooth it all over and make it right. He just didn't know how to do that yet.

Kenma say up, running his hands through his locks with a heavy sigh. It was the middle of the night, the whole room was a large shadow that draped over everything.

Y/n liked the night, therefore Kenma did too.

He knew how badly he had fucked up by even continuing to message Lexi. And he had no intention of hurting her, yet he did.

Kenma had called and called but he's stopped now. He wanted to give her space. He knew he would've wanted it if he was on the opposing end of this situation.

Lexi, on the other hand, continued to try to reach him on all socials. Kenma blocked her from texting his phone so it seemed like she's resorted to other means, "Psh, what a drag."

And then there was Kuroo. Kenma knew how close he and Y/n were. After all this time being apart from him, he knew he'd been replaced as the best friend. And at this point, he was fine with it. Kenma saw how good of friends Kuroo and Y/n were. Being replaced is different from having upgraded. Kenma was a shit friend anyways... what if he was just as shit of a boyfriend?

The more he thought, the more stressed he became. Kuroo hadn't texted him at all during this 3 day war. It felt like everyone was ready to tell him he fucked up. Deserved, honestly.

Ding!

Kenma perked his head up from his hands, sliding across the floor and over to his phone that laid on his dresser. The bright light of his phone blasted onto his face.

It was Kuroo. How ironic.

Kenma's eyes widened and he quickly got up, grabbing his things along with the numerous things Y/n had left at his house that night, and hurried downstairs.

His heart pounded in his ears as more notifications went through his phone. It was nearly 10 o'clock but he didn't care. There's no better time to go, in his mind.

He needed to see her. He had to make things right after the shit he himself had caused. Y/n deserved it. He needed to take accountability and apologize.

He thought about how he would get on his knees if all else failed, he'd beg her to forgive him or at least let him be hers forevermore. But then he realized his ego would get in the way. He'd never... unless absolutely necessary.

And anything was necessary when it came to her.
