Axel's POV

We get to my house and I ask if he wants to come in while I get some stuff. He nods, and follows me into my house.

He looks around as I go to the kitchen to get my leftovers out from the fridge. I plan to let them warm a bit before I heat it up later, that way it'll be quicker.

"Are your parents at work?" he asks, and I freeze. Shoot, I forgot about that.

"Yeah, they're on a business trip and they won't be back for a while" I say with a shrug, surprised at how steady my voice is. I hope he couldn't see my face or my hands. Jack told me that whenever I lie, I have a habit of biting my bottom lip or clenching my fists.

"Oh, so they left you alone? Wow, I don't think my house would be intact if my parents left me alone for so much as a day" He says with a laugh.

I chuckle, "Yeah, I'm sure from the amount of parties you'd throw, your house would look more like something exploded your house, then burnt it and then tried fixing it but failing horribly by the time your parents return"

He snorts, "That's a very detailed description"

I shrug, "I have no faith in you, and your inner party-animal"

He looks at me with a quizzical look, "Party animal? Parties aren't really my thing. I wouldn't throw one at my house if I've never even attended any at other people's houses"

I turned to look at him, shocked. I've always heard people talking in the hallways about the awesome parties that I was never invited to. Not that I mind, I wouldn't go to one even if I was invited. People and socializing just aren't really my thing.

"But I always hear people talking in the halls about the amazing parties on Fridays or something. Isn't it like.. obligatory for jocks to attend parties? Or like, popular people in general?" I ask, astonished that he hasn't attended one single party in our 4 years of highschool.

He chuckles, "Now that's just being stereotypical. I don't really like loud settings and communicating with a bunch of people who know me, but I don't know them. It's really awkward, you know. They know my name, and a bunch of things about me that they've heard from others -that are surprisingly accurate- and I don't even know their name"

I nod, understanding what he means. When I used to be labelled as 'the nerd', a lot of people would ask me for my notes and homework. They were always really friendly with me -since they were trying to get something from me- even when I had no idea they existed before they came up to me.

"Yeah I get it. A lot of people used to come up to me and ask for my homework or notes, and I wouldn't even know their names" He laughs, and I couldn't help but join in. He has the type of laugh that would make you laugh even if you were at a funeral, which is bad -in this case- would be very disrespectful.

"Well if it's 'obligatory', as you say, for popular people to attend parties, then you must've attended a bunch. You know, since you're pretty well known thanks to your grades and all"

I look at him, confused. "I've never been invited to parties, not that I mind. If they're anything like in the movies, they'd be too loud and crowded for my liking"

He nods in understanding and looks at the clock on my wall, "It's almost 6:00 now, you want to head out soon?"

"Yeah, let's go" I say, as I grab my keys and open the door. I lock the door and follow Jayden to his car. He gets in the driver's seat, as I get into the passenger's.

We drive in silence, besides the radio playing in the background. It wasn't an awkward silence, but a rather comfortable one. This feels nice...

"We're here" Jayden announces, as he parks the car and gets out. I follow suit, and we walk into a cafe named Crispy Kooks.

I see a hiring sign on the door as I walk in. Maybe I could ask if they have a position I can fill, so that I won't have to keep asking them for money.

We sat down in a booth, as a waiter walks over to our table.

Jayden's POV

"Hey, what could I get you guys?" I look up and see the waiter, seemingly ignoring my presence and staring intently at Axel.

"Just a water for now, thanks" I say, trying -but failing- to hide how annoyed I was.

"Sure, and how about you cutie?" he asks, still looking at Axel. Cutie? At least he can appreciate beauty when he sees it.

I see Axel blush, and I almost hold back a laugh. I don't like how the waiter's flirting with Axel, but his reactions are adorable so I'll forgive it.

"U-um, just a water as well" he stutters, hiding his face in the menu he's holding.

"Of course, I'll be right back" he winks at Axel as he turns and leaves.

I burst out into laughter, as Axel turns red. I don't know why I'm laughing. I find this more frustrating than anything, but Axel's flustered face is making me forget about it.

"It's not funny.." Axel mumbles as he puts his head down on the table.

I stop laughing, "I'm sorry, your flustered face is just so cute"

I freeze, realizing what just came out of my mouth. Axel lifts his head and looks up at me, wide eyes.

Uh oh
