Axel's POV

It's been around two months since Jay and I started dating, and I've never been happier. We haven't fought -besides those occasional arguments about who's more amazing at what- and he makes me happy. Like really happy. He always goes out of his way and does something to make me smile. Last week, when I was upset about an argument with Jack -we solved it now- he bought me roses and chocolates, then took me out to a fancy dinner. I smiled the whole night, and temporarily forgot about the argument. He makes me feel loved.

He's also helped me with school work, and now I'm fine without any help. My grades have gotten a lot better, and I'm now back to being the top of the grade. Mr. Falcon looked relieved when he saw that I was back to my old self.

Since my grades are back to where they were before, I'm going to join the basketball team. Coach has been pestering me for the past two months to join, but I wanted to get my grades back up before that. I really love basketball, and I think it's about time I get over my fear.

The bell rings, signifying the end of the day. I pack up, and get ready to leave the classroom. As I leave the room, I get a text from Jay, so I open it.

My sexy pancake ;)

I have football practice today, u want to wait or I'll just come over later?

I'll wait. I have to talk to Coach about the basketball team anyways

Okay, I'll text u when practice is over

Mkay, good luck. Don't get injured

Me? Injured? Please, u underestimate me. I'm the one who injures others, not the other way around, babe.

That's not something to be proud of

:) I gotta go, I'll text u later <3

I put my phone in my pocket and head to the gym. I knock on Coach's office door, and open it when I hear a "come in". Coach looks up and looks puzzled to see me. I smile nervously, as I sit down in the chair across from him.

"What can I help you with, kid?" Coach asks, as he closes whatever he was looking at on his laptop.

"I was wondering about the basketball team, and if I can join?" I ask, and I see Coach break out into a huge grin.

"Finally! You have no idea how long I've been waiting for you to say that. Ever since I saw you play that day, I knew with you on the team, we could win the whole championship!" he says and I chuckle.

"You give me too much credit, Coach. I'm sure there are plenty of people better than me out there" I say and Coach shakes his head.

"Don't say that kid. You're really good, just admit it. You're almost as good as the number 8 boy who disappeared from the Blue Koyas!" Coach exclaims and I laugh awkwardly. It's fine to tell him, right?

"Haha.. that guy. Um, actually, Coach. I'm.. number 8 from the Blue Koyas.." I say as I rub my neck with my hand awkwardly.

Coach's eyes go wide, "You're number 8?! I had the only boy I've ever acknowledged at basketball, right under my nose this whole time?!"

I laugh and smile sheepishly, "Yup, that's me.."

Coach's grin widens, "That explains why you're so good. Now I know we're definitely taking the championships this year. There's practice this Thursday after school. We'll be using the gym since the boy's football team also has practice. We normally prefer to use the outdoor courts since the nets are in much better condition, but what can you do."

I smile, "Is there an assessment that I need to do before joining the team?"

Coach shakes his head, "Of course not! I don't think I'm allowed to say this, but you're better than all the boys on the team combined, hands down. But, they might not be too happy if you join mid-semester, with that small body of yours, no offence. So I think it will do you some good to show them what you're capable of at the beginning of practice" Coach winks at me. He wants me to join the team and immediately put everyone down. What a great Coach.

Coach tells me about the schedules, upcoming games and things I need to know before joining the team. We have a tournament game in a month, and we have practices every Thursdays and Fridays. Jay has practices every Wednesdays and Thursdays, so that works out pretty well.

Coach stands up, and I follow suit. "I'm happy you've decided to join the team, Axel. We're glad to have you. I'm glad to have you." Coach says and I smile, shaking his hand. I wave him goodbye and walk out of his office. That took longer than I thought, I wonder if Jay's practice ended yet. Just as I think that, I get a call from Jay. This boy's got impeccable timing.

"Hello?"

"Hey, you done your talk with Coach?" I hear Jay's voice through the phone and instantly smile.

"Yeah, just finished. It took a lot longer than I thought, but I made the team. Where are you?"

I can picture Jay's smile, "I'm changing, but I'll be out in a few. Meet me by my car, yeah?"

"Okay, see you" I hang up and start making my way out of the school and to Jay's car. After a few minutes, Jay emerges from the school and walks towards me with a huge grin.

He picks me up and twirls me around, resulting in me giggling like a 5-year old girl. He kisses me, a sweet, gentle kiss.

He looks at me with pride, "I'm proud of you baby, although there's no way that you wouldn't make it, since Coach personally asked you to join multiple times. You are definitely the best player in this country. You'll wreck everyone at the tournaments, and I'll be there to see my beautiful boyfriend looking hot and sexy as he beats everybody with his unmatched skills"

I laugh, "Geez, you flatter me too much. I'm not that good, there are plenty of people just as good, if not better than me"

He frowns, "Don't say that, give yourself more credit"

I laugh and kiss his pout, "I'm sorry. I'm the best, okay?"

He smiles, "Okay" He puts me down and we get into his car.

"When do you have practices?"

"Every Thursdays and Fridays. Coach is worried that the team won't be happy about me joining mid-semester with my 5'4 body. So, he wants me to show them my skills at practice on Thursday" I reply, and I see Jay smirk.

"So in other words, he wants you to show them who's boss"

I laugh and roll my eyes, "I guess"

He smiles, "Oh yeah, you want to come over for dinner? My parents want to meet you" Jay says and I look at him, surprised.

"You told them about us?" I ask, and Jay instantly looked panicked.

"Was I not supposed to? I'm sorry Axe, I was just so excited about us I-"

"Hey it's okay, I'm happy you care about me enough to tell your parents about us. I was just shocked is all" I interrupt him, and he sighs in relief.

"Yeah, I told them and they were really supportive. My mom told me to invite you over for dinner so she could meet the guy who, she said and I quote, 'stole her precious boy's heart'" he says, using his fingers to emphasize.

I laugh, "Okay, let's go"

We drive to his house, which is actually not far away from my place. "I just realized. I've never been to your house"

He shrugs, "Because my parents are always home, and I prefer to spend time alone with you"

I look up and see a mansion. A literal mansion. His house is made of white bricks, surrounded by a large black gate. There are flowers in the yard, making the house have a more homely feel. His driveway alone might be the size of my house. How is it that we live on the same street?

"So you're the one that lives in the huge ass mansion. I wondered for so long who would be rich enough to afford something like this. Turns out, it was my boyfriend this whole time" I say and he chuckles.

"My parents own a really successful business" he shrugs, as he takes my hand as we walk up to his door. He unlocks it and we head inside. I look around and my eyes go wide with my jaw ajar.

His house is even bigger on the inside! There are a lot of shoes on a shoe rack beside the wall and a few pairs of shoes scattered across the carpet. There is a huge hallway after entering through the door that is full of family pictures, and has a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. I smile softly at one of the pictures on the wall, as I see a baby Jay smiling brightly with his parents and his brother.

"Mom, dad I'm home! I brought a guest with me for dinner" he says, and I see his mother's head peek in from what I assume to be the living room.

I wave at her, "Hi Mrs. Williams, it's nice to meet you"

Her eyes widen and she smiles. She walks over and holds out her hand, "Hi hun, you can just call me May. Axel, right?"

I take her hand and shake it, but as I was about to respond, Jay beats me to it, "No mom, this is actually Patrick"

Her eyes widen again, and she shakes her head. "I'm so sorry, I must've been mistaken"

She turns to her son and gives him a disappointed look, "I thought you were dating the Axel kid? Then why are you holding hands with this Patrick? I didn't raise you to be a cheater, Jayden Scott Williams"

I punch Jay in the shoulder and quickly speak up, "No ma'am, Jay's lying. My name's actually Axel" I glare at him as he laughs.

His mother looks shocked and playfully glares at him, "You actually scared the living spoches out of me. No dinner for you tonight, get out. You are no longer my son"

She turns to me, "You, my dear, are now appointed as my son. Come in"

Jay continues to laugh and I look between the two of them, confused. Mrs. Williams starts laughing along with Jay and I furrow my eyebrows, utterly confused.

Mrs. Williams goes to hug Jay, "Hi honey, how was your day?

Jay hugs her back, "It was good, thanks mom. Yours?"

She pulls away and lightly slaps his chest, "Good until you scared me into thinking you were cheating on poor Axel"

Jay laughs, "I'm sorry mom"

She smiles, "It's fine, honey"

I look at them interact with a fond look. I was never jealous of kids who had a good relationship with their parents. I was happy for them, and weirdly, it was something I loved to see. I loved seeing how proper parents are supposed to treat their kids, and it makes me want a kid and shower them with love, the love I never got from my parents.

Jay looks at me, and his eyes widen. He quickly pulls away from his mom, surprising her.

"We'll be up in my room" he says, and grabs my hand.

"Okay honey, I'll call you guys down when dinner's ready. Keep the door open!" she giggles, and I blush.

Jay groans, "We're not going to do anything ma! Not while you're here at least"

She laughs as Jay pulls me upstairs and into his room. He closes the door and leans against it, sighing.

He gives me an apologetic look, "I'm sorry, I was being inconsiderate of you. I-"

"Stop, don't apologize for having an amazing mom. Plus, I enjoyed watching you two interact. It's cute" I giggle, and he chuckles.

"I'm still sorry, I should've thought of how you'd feel since-"

"I didn't get any love from my parents?" I interrupt, and he looks down guilty.

I smile, "Jay it's okay. I enjoy watching people who have a good relationship with their parents, as weirdly as it sounds. It makes me happy seeing that other people aren't going through what I did, and have parents who care about them"

Jay smiles, and hugs me tightly, "You're really an incredible guy"

I laugh and hug him back, "So I've been told"

I look around his room and my eyes go wide. I didn't notice how big it was until now. He has a king sized bed and huge flat screen TV on the opposite side. He has a carpet situated in front of the TV with a few beanbags scattered around. He has a few playstation controllers sitting on the cabinet beside the TV. His family photos are hung on his wall, with some posters of bands and football players. I smile at the photo of him as a baby, being held by his brother. His brother's smiling fondly down at Jay while Jay is laughing.

I see a shelf above his bed with a few books, and I turn to look at him with a smile.

"So the jock reads" I say with a playful tone and he laughs.

"Only when he's bored"

"Boys! Dinner's ready!" we hear Mrs. Williams call. He takes my hand and we walk downstairs into the kitchen. We see a man sitting at a table, who scarily resembles Jay. He doesn't seem old enough to be his dad though.

He looks up at us and sees our entwined hands, raising a brow. He smirks and gets up, coming over to me. He holds out his hand, "You must be Axel, I've heard a lot about you. I'm Jason, Jayden's hotter and sexier older brother. It's nice to make your acquaintance" he says as I shake his hand.

Jayden growls and pushes me behind him, "Back off bro"

Jason laughs, "Wow you must really care about him", Jason smiles happily at his brother, "I'm happy for you dude, you've finally found someone you genuinely care about"

Jay laughs and takes my hand again, "Yeah, I really care about him"

"Congrats man" Jason smiles.

"Thanks dude" Jay says.

"Wow, my sons are getting along!" a deep voice says, and I turn my head to the source. A middle-aged man with the same hazel eyes and brown hair as Jay walks in. Jay's dad.

Jayden's POV

I roll my eyes, "We get along just fine dad"

He chuckles. He seems to spot Axel and raises a brow.

"Dad, this is my boyfriend, Axel. Axe, this is my dad" I say and push Axe forward a bit.

"Hi Mr. Williams, I'm Axel. It's nice to meet you" he says politely and holds out a hand for my dad to shake.

My dad smiles, he likes people with manners. My ex that I brought over had zero manners. She didn't even say thank you after the meal my mom made, so my parents were relieved when I told them I broke up with her.

"Nice to meet you Axel, just call me Dan" he says and shakes his hand.

My dad turns to me, "By the way son, the Rivers are joining us for dinner tonight"

I groan, "Really? They come the day I bring Axe?"

He shrugs, "Just try to get along with their son okay?" I groan again, and pull Axe into my chest, surprising him.

I put my face in his hair inhaling his scent, "Okay, I feel better now" I say, releasing Axe, making my dad and brother laugh. I look down and see a confused Axe and I smile.

"We're having other guests tonight, and I'm not really fond of their son, so you're going to have to keep me sane tonight" I say and Axe laughs.

"Since when were you sane?" he says and I feign offence.

"Excuse you! I am-" I say before the door bell interrupts.

"Looks like they're here" my dad says, and I groan even louder. My dad goes to get the door, and I feel someone tug on my sleeve. I look down to see Axe smiling brightly at me, and I kiss him. I couldn't resist, he just looked so cute. It was just a peck, since my brother was still in the room, but it was good enough to calm me.

I hug him and rest my head on his head, since I'm quite a bit taller than he is. He hugs me back, and I pull away as I hear footsteps approaching. I see my brother walk out of the room, mouthing good luck before disappearing into the kitchen. That jerk.

"Woah is that Jayden Williams? I haven't seen you in so long man! What's up?" I hear a voice and I groan audibly, not caring that he heard. Axe slaps my chest and I look down at him, seeing him mouth be nice.

I sigh, "Hey Clark, how are you?"

"Doing good. Who's this cutie?" he says and winks at Axe.

I stand in front of him protectively, "My boyfriend" I say, glaring at him and Clarks lets out an inaudible 'oh'.

"Hi Jayden, it's nice to see you again" I look up and see Quintin, Clark's dad.

"Hi Mr. Quin, lovely seeing you again" I say politely and I hear Axe snort behind me, making me smile.

"You've grown into a fine young man. Oh, let me introduce you two. Jay, this is my girlfriend, Amy. Amy, this is Jayden. Dan's youngest son." he says, and I see a woman around 5'5. She has brown, straight hair and brown eyes.

I smile politely at her, "Nice to meet you"

I feel Axel peaking at the Rivers family from behind me. I look down at him and I see him frozen, eyes wide and trembling. He has a horrified look on his face, as he grips my shirt tightly. I turn and face him, holding onto his shoulders.

"Hey what's wrong?" he shakily lifts his finger, and I look at who he's pointing at. I see Amy looking at Axe, shocked.

"M-M-M-Mom?" he says, and my eyes widen.

Shit.
