Evan's POV

I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep. I could still hear the faint drizzles of the raindrops splashing against the window while I slept. It was soothing actually. I opened my eyes and glanced at the digital clock on top of the draw.

I decided to get up and get something to drink. I quietly made my way out of the bed so as to not disturb Dave in his sleeping form. Once I made it out, I quietly crept down the stairs and made my way to the kitchen.

I noticed a single light was on. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked around. Suddenly, I felt a hand touch my neck and a girly shriek left my lips. I did a 360 degree turn and my heart almost leaped out of my chest.

There stood Alex in all his glory. He didn't have a shirt on and his hair was still disheveled from sleep. I stood with my mouth agape staring at him. I'm sure my face was as red as a tomato by now. I bit my lip nervously and looked down when I noticed him looking at me.

"What are you doing up so late?" He asked in a hushed tone.

"I-I um..i-it was raining so..so I needed a drink!" I mentally face palmed myself. That made absolutely no sense. Great, how he's going to think I'm a weirdo! Wait..why am I getting so worked up over this? Why should I even care about what he thinks? He already picks on me. It's not like this is going to change anything.

I heard him sigh and I slowly looked up to see his reaction. Before I could catch a glimpse of his face, he walked past me and made his way to the fridge. He opened it and rummage through. Before I knew what was happening, I saw an object being thrown at me out of the corner of my eyes. Out of reflex, my hands shot out and I caught the object, only to realize it was a cold bottle of water. I looked at Alex quizzically. He just shrugged his shoulders.

"That's all I have to drink at the moment," he stated, opening his own bottle.

"T-Thanks." Okay, I'm not gonna lie. That was a bit shocking. Him being even remotely nice to me...I never thought I'd live to see the day. "Soo...what are you doing up?" I decided to at least attempt to strike up a conversation with him.

"Max. His snores refuses to let me have even a blink of sleep," he rolled his eyes, crossing his strong arms over his toned and muscular chest. "Next time, either you or Dave will take him. I need my beauty sleep," he grumbled out. A light giggle left my lips at that, before realization hit me and I quickly clamped my hands over it my mouth.

I stole a quick glance at him and was relieved and kind of shocked to see a small smile playing at his lips. "Yeah yeah, laugh it up, but seriously, I'm not taking him next time," he chuckled, causing me to laugh.

"So what are you gonna do now?" I asked out of curiosity, since I'm sure he won't be going back to his room.

"Couch. I might watch a movie and crash there or something." With that being said, he exited the kitchen and made his way to the couch. He took the remote from the coffee table and turned the television on. I stood awkwardly in the kitchen, not sure if I should follow or head to bed.

"You coming?" I heard him ask. He patted the spot next to him with a raised brow, looking at me expectantly. I mentally shrugged and followed suite, taking a seat beside him on the couch. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
