I rubbed my forehead with my right hand to know if the headache would ease up a bit. I looked around my office to see all the scrunched up papers that I threw on the floor. I've been trying to get some paperwork's done since morning and it's been to no avail.

I just couldn't concentrate and that is so unlike me. I've never been the type to lose concentration ever since the incident. Even my wolf Koda seems restless and it has never happened before.

A knock on my door pulled me out of my thought. Based on the waves of smell in the air I knew it was my Beta, Andrew. I grunted as a Sign for him to enter. He came in with his eyes on the wall and bowed his head. None of my pack members, except my siblings could look me straight in the eyes without flinching.

"Alpha we've double checked the border and the scent we found wasn't that of a rogue but a lone wolf, but I've added more people to the crew".

I looked at him and grunted and looked down at the paperwork's. I wasn't understanding anything even as I was looking at the files on my desk but I found it interesting than looking at Andrew. We were best friends before but not anymore. I couldn't trust him after what happened. In fact I couldn't trust anyone.

I heard clearing of throat and looked up to see Andrew still standing there. I had forgotten he was still here.

" You're dismissed ". Even my voice sounded weird to me. Mind you, I'm not nervous or scared of anyone. If I am I wouldn't be one of the most feared Alpha's. I don't mean to sound cocky but it's the truth.

I wouldn't say I'm in good terms with my pack members. I'm not. They are scared shirtless of me. From what I've heard they claim I have "a dark aura" and that "I'm always brooding". My siblings told me.

I don't like my pack members to be scared of me. I want us to be like a normal pack where the pack members can interact with their Alpha without them being scared.

It's not that I'm wicked or that I'm cruel. They can testify that I'm one good damn Alpha when it comes to protecting them and providing what they need. It's just that I don't want to trust people and get hurt. When my own father was betrayed by his own best friend and Beta and almost lost the pack, I made up my mind not to trust anyone except my siblings. Yeah even the big bad Alpha is scared of getting hurt too. Who isn't?.

I was a very cheerful person while growing up. I was always doing mischievous things with my friends. Always going to parties, getting drunk. The only thing I never did was sleeping around. I've never slept with anybody. Even as I was a mischievous kid, I was also a good one.

                    ~FLASH BACK~

It's my twentieth birthday today and from my face one would know that I'm not happy.......... At all. It's been two years already and I've not still been made Alpha. In every pack the Alpha needs to be initiated on his eighteenth birthday. It's not a law but it has been like that since forever and no one have done otherwise except from me.

I was just coming back from my dads office. As usual I went to ask him why I haven't been made Alpha yet and his reply was "In due time son" as it has been since my eighteenth birthday.

I walked into my room and slammed the door in anger. I moved towards my bed and threw myself on it wondering what I've done wrong to not have been made Alpha.

A knock on my door made me raise my head up to see my best friend Andrew walk in. He noticed my mood and with a knowing look on his face he sat on the bed.

"The usual?". He asked while dropping something on my bed. I just grunted and he started saying what he always tell me since my eighteenth birthday. Trust your Father.

We stayed silent for about ten minutes until Andrew muttered " shoot" and scrambled up. I looked up to see him holding a file and throwing it at me.

"My dad said you should sign that. He said your dad already did".

I sat up on the bed and opened the file but the words written on it were not clear enough for me to read, they were faint.

" The words are faint Andrew. I can't read them ". He looked at me and said I should go and show his dad to see what if was about. I wasn't dumb enough to sign something that I didn't read.

I got to his father's office and knocked on the door. Beta Michael opened the door and smiled when he saw me.

" Ahh Jason I knew you'd come here". He said showing off his yellow teeth. I looked at him warily. What did he mean by he knew I'd come.

"You knew?". I asked while entering his office.

" Yes I knew and I know the reason . I just gave you the papers to sign because you are the next Alpha. Your Father signed it already, if you'd like to know".

"I know my dad signed it. Andrew told me already but the problem is that the words are faint. I can't see what is written on it".

I moved closer to show him the file but he waved his hand in the air in dismissal.

" I know, I know. I lost the main file but if you'd like to know what it's about I'll tell you". I nodded at him to continue.

"It's about the land the blue moon pack is requesting from us". He said while handing me a pen.

" Okay if you say so".

I collected the pen and as I was about to sign it the rogue alarm rang.

I stood shocked and confused. Our pack is the most fortified In the country. Most pack leaders even come to see how our security system is so that they could do the same to their packs.

There was no way rogues could get in except someone from the pack tells them.

I was about to go and check what was going on when I felt Beta Michael's hands on mine. I looked at him and tilted my head in confusion.

What is going on?

Why is he stopping me from going to check what the problem is?

Is he drunk?

"You can't go now, you need to sign these papers".

I looked at him and was about to voice my million opinions when he brought out a gun and pointed it at me.

" If you don't sign these papers I'll blow up your brains, I've worked real hard on this for months and you little shit is not going to ruin it for me".He shouted with his eyes wide open and saliva coming out of his mouth.

Wait,What!!!

"What do you mean by you planned this?". I was really confused here.

" I'm sick and tired of your Father's weak leadership, so I called the rouges to help me get rid of him. They owe me one anyway. So that's why they are here".

I was horrified by what he was saying. I never knew he was this wicked. I knew there was something weird about him but I didn't read meaning into it.

"How could you? Why are you doing this?. My dad never did anything wrong to you, so why are you doing this?".

He just scoffed and used the butt of the pistol to scratch his beard." Don't worry, I'm not killing everyone. Just you, your dad, Malcolm, Peter, River and others that always loved your dad. Now stop wasting my time and sign these papers".

Its was then that I knew that the papers were not for any stupid land. I couldn't do anything but comply because he was pointing a pistol at me.

I moved to were the paper was and picked up the pen. I was hesitant in signing the paper, I can't just sign it and fulfill his sick wishes . I was
