Jax's Point of View

The Romano's had been on my mind the whole time since they came. Reese looked exactly like Reina except for the fact that she inherited gorgeous brown skin that has the power to glow in. They had the same hazel honey as eyes and the deep black hair. I also met his wife Ophelia, one of the best hackers in the world. She was as gorgeous as the papers made her to be. They had a little daughter called Hazel who also came along to America. The whole event for the Winter ball has now been planned. Our defence, our attack all planned out. Both Sicily and Americans were joining in for this to take of the Milans.

In addition to that, we have the Black Hunter as backup. The Black Hunter has been messing with the shipments, stealing shipments occasionally. Twisting around in my head uneasily was how I was going to break it to her brother that I killed his sister because I thought she was a rat in the mafia and have been living to regret it ever since. Oh yeah, it totally works out if I just told him "yeah, killed your sister because she was a rat and now, I sleep in her room and vest her grave twice every single day." Yeah, they would not freak out at all.

We went out to the clubs and he had also met up with my main men, Angelo and Felix and we would usually have a few drinks. The Russians were also attending the Winter ball and offered to be there as our side as usual, he was my cousin, after all. I was meeting them both at the ball which was in a couple of hours. Hammering my head with the drug shipments had made my headache too much that I needed some sort of drink to loosen up for a bit. Just then Angelo had walked in.

"You got room to join?"

"Mmhmm."

"You got a date for the Ball?"

"Nemesis, oh wait I killed here." I spoke with a slight chuckle.

"Dark humour. Hmph. You loved her, didn't you?"

"Loved. No. Love. Always and forever and my stupidity only made me kill her."

"I'm not going to defend you, but we don't usually let suspicions a chance to be proved to be innocent."

"Don't. Fucking. Defend. Me." I gritted my teeth with a rush adrenaline flowing through my veins.

"I'm not but I won't let you beat yourself after what you did a year ago."

"it wasn't just a fucking thing that you forget. I FELL IN LOVE WITH HER AND SHE... SHE FUCKING LOVED ME AND I BETRAYED HER IN THE WORST WAY THAT I COULD," the anger bubbled up and I felt myself losing myself slowly. So, I went to the first place that could calm me in any situation. Nem's grave.

I didn't talk to her. No words at all just the salty tears trickling their way down my face just as she prickled her way into my stone-cold heart. She managed to do everything that would leave a smile on my heart. God, I would give anything to hear her laugh once more. She could make the whole world light up with her laugh. The laugh of her exhilarating personality shines through and honestly that itself could plaster the biggest grin across my face.

After a couple of hours of making myself comfortable in her presence, I made my way to my room and showered and came out in a red suit. A red blazer. Black shirt. Black trousers. Red tie. The deep dark scarlet red that complimented the red eye gene that runs in the family. I took my car and drove to the venue where the Winter Ball was being held.

It was a grand entrance and nothing less than expected. An elegant chandler hung from the ceiling and the whole shimmered with the dazing golden themed tables and chairs. I spotted Dimitri with a woman who looked like she was going to kill him. The one people in the underground talk about Moya Vitiello.

She's known for working alone with no one else; the only time that she had was when there was a heist with the Black Hunter at a club downtown where there was a major drug deal happening and from then on Moya had her own drug line and one of the biggest so she was a considered to be a valuable asset to come in at one's aid. Shame that her family were against women being in the mafia. She had marred Dimitri a couple of weeks ago and I met her but she wasn't keen on the upcoming special night with her husband so the ones who encouraged it were the ones that she stained her white wedding dress with red blood.

"Moya Vitiello. Pleasure to see you again." I stated outstretching my hand wating for her to shake it.

"Nice to see you again, Jax." She responded with a firm shake in the hand.

"Dim, be on your guard."

"When am I not?" he spoke with no emotions whatsoever, "but you are totally fucked." He smirked.

"What do you mean? We have everything planned out carefully. We're going to beat them once and for all."

"как насчет любви к семье твоей жизни (what about the love of your lfe's famly?)" he sipped on his vodka.

"Они убьют меня в конце этого, и так будет лучше (They'll kill me at the end of this and it's better off like that)" I replied in Russian."

"Как черт они сделали бы. Я выстрелю каждому из их черепов и смотрю, как они истекают кровью. (Like hell they would. I'll shoot every one of their skulls and watch them bleed out.)" he growled lowly that it seemed like he was ready to cut someone open.

"What the hell are you two talking about?"

"Jax seemed to have killed the love of his life and whines like a puppy and guess who has- "

"Well it seems as if Dimitri is so whipped for you, he'll get on his knees and be your bitch."

"Doesn't everyone want to be my bitch?" she chuckled and walked off and found herself associating with another woman around the bar area. Dimitri had his teeth gritted and his jaw clenched at her little comment.

"She's a feisty one. How do you manage that?"

"With the choking, spanking and the fuckin- "

"Yeah, save me the details." I spoke out to him and left to see my sister walk into the hall. She made herself talking to Harlow River Costa, the Spanish cartel leader. We didn't have any alliances with the Spanish but aware of one another's existence and to be honest we would benefit way more than she would in any way. She's also one that men fear too much to have a talk to since she has a nasty habit of sending back people's head to their loved ones that had played a part in the role of attempting to defeat her.

Time had passed slower than expected and was literally boring the hell out of me. Now, the couples were dancing. I saw Moya and Dimitri, Ophelia and Reese, Angela and a man who I had no notice of but who was dancing cautiously at the corner of the room the heir of the Milans little gang, Leonardo Scrufet. The dance had ended, and everyone had scattered around associating with each other and grasping at every opportunity to make deals and profit out of them.

Just then Reese had bumped into me and whispered, 'be on your guard, any moment now.' As he said, it had happened. Guns were drawn and the shots rang deafeningly. Chaos was undone. People were screaming everywhere and just like everyone I had drawn my guns and aimed shooting directly the head of everyone on the enemy's line. Before I knew it there were 4 guys aiming at me and all looked perfectly trained for this very moment, but little did, they know that I was born for this life more than any of them could. Lifeless still bodes dropped to the ground as I used one of the tables as a defence and steadied the gun into focus each target.

None of my targets were Leonardo. Fuck! That means he's ether escaped or has a bigger force than we had magnet. On a positive side, hopefully Reese had killed him, if he was dead, I was happy. As log as it was like that. Just then, I realised that all of the bodies were dropped to the ground and no longer had any life in them.

Reese entered the hall from the left with his white shirt filled with blood red.

"You ok?" He asked while checking all of the bodies and I was clocking my gun as it was out of bullets.

"Mmhm, where's Leonardo?" I asked.

"I thought you had him."

"No, I don't."

"Fucking hell, he couldn't have escaped we had men at every entrance." He shouted pulling on his hair furiously.

"Shit, he could be off the radar by now." I bellowed back with fury burning up in my veins and started walking around the room.

"Wait," he said pausing absolutely everything, "listen to that."

"Listen to what?" I questioned at whatever the hell he was listening.

"The elevator. It's coming down. You take left and I'll take right."

I did as he said and I went to the left side of the elevator. I had my gun ready to shoot and then the elevator door dinged. Adrenaline pumped through my arms causing the most steadiest focus to take down Leonardo but what I saw next was what surprised me the most.

Knives pinned Leonardo's body everywhere including his dick, arms, legs and chest. There was a single bullet right in between his eyebrow. A talented kill that only a few capable of and one of those would be the black hunter. As I saw, the whole knife play and the vandalism clearly on the elevator background spray painted in red, blood red.

"Should have known this by now." Reese smirked, with a hint of a chuckle and in that moment Angelo and Felix came in.

"The black hunter killed him?" Felix questioned curiously with some fear planting at the bottom of his voice.

"Mmhm."

Just then, a woman in a red dress. The top part was tightly fitted with a thin strap on each side of the dress. A sparkly silver belt across her waist and the bottom part of the dress was more flowy and calm but revealed one of her legs. Elegant and badass.

She had melanin brown skin and sleek healthy black hair that I only thought Nem had possessed but clearly I was wrong before she does. She had scarlet red heels and a dark red purse in her hand.

"Not too late, am I boys?"

No. This can't be happening. I killed her. I killed Reina Romano but here she was standing in front of me. I mourned her and hated myself because I loved her but I still killed her. Her brown skin shone brightly where the lights of the candles would face her. Her jasmine scent filled the room and here I was reliving all the memories of where she was next to me and just one whiff and I would be suffocated by that pleasing smell. The dangly gold earrings moved as she got up and walked towards us.

"Reese." She sated with a smile on her face. A smile that I would pay millions to see. A smile that would light up my world in a second. A smile that would make my hatred and anger all disappear but all that would be left were my feeling with her.

"Reina. Meet Jax, American Ma-"

"Mafia boss, trust me I know a lot about that and him and his ruthless methods. Nice to meet you... Jax."

"His men. Felix and Ang-"

Before Reese could even finish that sentence, she ran over to Angelo and embraced him into a hug. A pretty warmly and friendly hug for some sort of war that they had last time.

"Angelo, I know, he's the best friend I told you about."

"You're Angelo Angelo?" Reese questioned with a disgusted facial expression scrunched on his face.

"Yeah, he is. Anyways, me and Angelo have to catch up so see you later bitch." She laughed as she turned around to the exit grabbing Angelo's handing pulling him with her. He looked at me and looked away instantly as soon as I replied with an equal stare.

He knew Reina was alive. He watched me mourn her. He knew how much I was hurting and didn't do anything. Right now, I didn't give two flying fucks that Angelo betrayed me in that way because Nem probably wanted me to hurt and it sure as hell made it hurt like hell but she's alive.

This time she won't be the one to get away.
