"That didn't sound good," Megumi said as the audience began transporting back to Earth.

Kim looked around, slightly worried and puzzled. "Is this supposed to happen?"

"It's not." Lucius pulled four pieces of honey drops out of her pocket and handed Megumi, Dre, and Kim one. "It might be a good idea to follow suit."

"What about this little guy?" Dre asked, scratching Blitz between his ears to keep him calm. "He looks like he hadn't had a bite to eat in days. I can't just leave him behind."

"Hold on to him and hope for the best. It was nice seeing you again, Dre. You should see if you can come over some time," he said before he popped the candy in his mouth and vanished.

"See you guys at the house," Megumi said as she ate her candy and disappeared.

"Dre. I'm scared." Dre turned to Kim, who looked on the verge of crying.

He stared into her face, wanting nothing more than to protect her. It was then that he realized that the only thing he could do was run. From what he heard from the call with Loyalty, it was Edge Walkers that was causing the commotion, an enemy that he had no chance in taking down by himself. As much as he hated to admit it, he had to run. There were no other options. However, he would run with her by his side.

He cupped Kim's hand into his own, with Blitz in his other hand. "Don't worry," he said as calmly as he could. "We're going to get to Megumi's house safely, and our parents will get back safe and sound. They are fighting with Mr. Toney and my dad by their side, and you saw how strong they were, right?" She nodded, wiping the tears with the sleeve of her jacket. "Good, then let's go," he said, forcing a smile.

He held the honey drop above his mouth, and was getting ready to eat it until he felt a tug at his sleeve. "I afraid to go alone. Can we go together?" Kim asked tearfully.

He nodded as he took her hand. "We'll go on three. One. Two. Three." They both swallowed their pieces. He felt himself lift into the air, with Kim tightly gripping his hand.

They flew for what felt like a minute before their ascent slowed. Dre gave a sigh of relief as he felt Blitz still his arms. He could feel himself careening towards Earth, which meant that he would be able to open his eyes soon. He needed to know if Kim was still okay.

As soon as his descent slowed, his eyes shot open. He turned to his right. Kim looked apprehensive as she looked at the oncoming ground. She turned towards Dre and gave a small smile.

They could now see Megumi's house. "We're almost there," he called, his heart pounding as they inched closer and closer. Their descent slowed even more as they were now feet away from the roof. He clinched his eyes as they phased through the house and landed gently in the living room, where Megumi stood impatiently at the front door.

"What took you guys so long? I was able to clean Mew-Mew's litter box, fix something to snack on, and got off the phone with Sakura before you guys showed up."

"I was too afraid to go alone. I was afraid of being separated from you guys." Kim said.

"Oh. I see." Megumi gave a mischievous smile. "Is that why you two are holding hands?"

Both Dre and Kim looked at their intertwined hands and jerked it away, embarrassed as they looked away from each other. Blitz yipped at them as Megumi laughed. "What was the call about, anyway?" Dre asked.

"Sakura and Loyalty are supposed to come watch over us until our parents get back. I don't see why, considering that we're all just about seventeen, but it doesn't matter to me."

Dre made his way to the front door, with Blitz at his heels. "You mind telling Loyalty that I've gone to my sanctuary once he gets here? He'll know where that's at."

"Uh... sure."

"Thanks. Come, Blitz." And with that, both Dre and Blitz walked outside.

"What do you think that was about?" Megumi asked.

"Not quite sure." Kim turned to Megumi. "Do you happen to have any clothes I could wear? I forgot mine at the school."

"Hm... Any clothes for you. I may have something that you could get in. Though it might just be easier to just break into the school and get your clothes. I should still have a couple of ski masks in my room."

"You're... You're joking, right?"

"Of course I am, you nut." She smiled as she walked past Kim. "Come with me, I'll give you a tour of the house.

Kim followed her through the hallway, observing the numerous family pictures hanging on the walls. One picture in general took her by surprise. A photo of a young, freckled-faced girl with skin the same color as honey and her black hair tied in two long pigtails. She sat on her father's broad shoulders, both with a wide smile. "Is this you?"

"Huh?" Megumi turned to her. "Oh, that. Yeah, that's me and my daddy. He said it was taken here in Prescott, but I don't remember it at all. This was actually the first time that Joel dyed my hair."

"Did he tell you why?"

"He thought it was funny."

"I see. Was it funny?"

"Is this face of someone who was even slightly amused by it?" Megumi asked as she pointed at her frown. Kim quickly shook her head. "My room is at the end of the hall. Over there-" she pointed to the first door in the hallway, "is the guest room. The door beside is the bathroom, and this door-" she inclined her head to a tan, wooden door on the adjacent wall, "is my parents room. No kids allowed." She pushed open the door to her room, inviting Kim to a pink room. Posters of various anime characters, comic book characters, and rock bands were plastered around her walls. A white dresser with a marble-like counter top stood about a foot away from a four-poster bed with a black and pink checkerboard designed blanket. Curled up in the middle of the bed was a small, orange kitten with small, almost invisible flames sprouting from its paws. "This is my room."

"Wow," Kim said slowly, awestruck by the decorations of her room. Her parents would barely allow her the privilege of so many posters and action figures. On the wall beside Megumi's bed was a large flat screen T.V. perched beside a white wardrobe, another luxury her parents wouldn't allow.

Megumi mumbled to herself as she rummaged through her dresser. She pulled out a large, black dress and a pair of white underwear. "Think you can fit these?" She waved the panties in front of Kim, who blushed as she took them. They'd be a bit snug, but it would better than nothing. "The towels are behind the door. I'm gonna go make some tea. Want some milk?"

"Are you assuming that I want some milk because I'm part cat?"

Megumi sighed. "Do you want some milk?" she repeated.

She tucked her head. "Yes."
