"H-hey, Shiro," Keith croaked into his phone. Lance held the omega on his lap, arms encircling his waist and his chin resting on Keith's uninjured shoulder.

"Oh, my God. Keith? Are you okay?" Shiro's frantic voice came through the other end of the phone.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm okay," Keith answered, sighing softly. "I'm at Lance's house. I can tell you the address if you want to come over. My bike and stuff are still at Dad's."

"W-what? Why are you at Lance's?"

"Dad got really bad last night. And I dunno. I just ran," Keith shrugged, even though he knew Shiro couldn't see him. "I ended up at Lance's house."

"I'm getting Adam to come to pick you up, okay?"

"M'kay. By any chance could you get my bike at some point? I don't have a car and I can't get to school any other way."

"Yeah. I'll do that after work. But seriously, are you okay?" Shiro asked, his voice shaky and an octave higher than it usually was.

"Yes. Lance's sister is in school to be a nurse," Keith explained, closing his eyes. "She patched me up. I hurt, but that's par for the course." He chuckled dryly.

"Adam can bring you some food, too. Do you want anything?" Keith's fretful older brother asked, wanting to make sure his brother was truly okay.

"McDonald's... Can I have whatever I want?" Keith inquired, slightly drowsy from the pain and the meds.

"Of course, Keith. I don't care if you order their entire menu. I just want you to be okay," Shiro sighed, his voice wavering. Keith didn't have a doubt in his mind that Shiro was crying.

"Okay. Could I have a Big Mac, two large fries, a twenty piece McNugget, a large Coke, a large strawberry milkshake, and an M&M McFlurry?" Keith's stomach growled at the mention of food, making Lance chuckle softly.

Shiro laughed quietly, glad his brother still had his monstrous appetite. "Sure. Don't worry about the cost. I got you covered."

"No. I'll pay for half. I know being a bouncer doesn't have the best pay..."

"Keith. I have it covered. I promise," Shiro reassured. Keith could hear the grin in Shiro's voice.

"Okay..." He replied, skepticism in his voice.

"I need to get back to work. Adam will be there in about an hour," Shiro said. "I love you."

"Mmm. Love you, too," Keith answered before hanging up. He scowled down at his phone. "I'm paying you back, you generous motherfucker."

Lance began to laugh, throwing his head back. Keith couldn't help but giggle himself. It hurt to laugh because of his bruised ribs so he couldn't laugh along with his boyfriend. "You are the best. 'You generous motherfucker'?" Lance cackled, vibrating with amusement. "That is the best non-insult insult I've ever heard!"

"I try," Keith chuckled, leaning up slowly to press a gentle kiss on the side of Lance's lips. He still didn't know why Lance had chosen to date him of all people. Lance could have anyone he wanted. Athletic, strong, kind, charismatic, flirty, talkative, mildly annoying Lance had picked Keith to be his boyfriend. Broken, scarred, depressed, anxious, worried, terrified Keith. "Why did you pick me to be your boyfriend? You could have anyone you want."

Keith's question cut off Lance's fit of laughs abruptly. His high eyebrows knitted together as his blue eyes darkened. "What do you mean?"

"I'm... Well, I'm broken... Y-you saw me last night..." Keith looked away from the Cuban alpha, feeling tears prick his eyes. "You know what my Dad does... Why would you pick someone like me? Someone prettier like Nyma o-or someone stronger like James..."

"Keith. Look at me," Lance turned Keith around on his lap so he could see the omega's face. He placed his warm hands on Keith's cheeks, rubbing the pads of his thumbs underneath Keith's teary eyes. "You are strong and you are pretty. The strongest and prettiest person I know. You are kind and sweet and loyal. You have a fiery temper and you act on your impulses, but so what? You keep me on my toes. You may have scars and you may have nightmares. I don't care. I am here for you. I will always be here for you. I chose you because you make me happy. Whenever I see your face I can't help but smile. No matter how much you say you hate me, I will still adore you. You can drag me through Hell if it means I can hold your hand."

Keith had begun to cry at this point, leaning his face into Lance's hands. "No... I-I'm not... But thanks," He hiccuped, trying to stop himself from crying.

"Keith Kogane, you are amazing. You are far from perfect, but you're perfect as you are," Lance whispered, pressing his forehead against Keith's and closing his eyes. He felt a few drops slide down his cheeks. He knew the reasons for Keith not being able to see his worth, but he couldn't fully comprehend how Keith couldn't see at least a small amount of his worth.

"That doesn't even make sense," Keith choked with a broken laugh. He sniffled softly, brushing away his tears.

"It does, too," Lance pecked Keith's nose, pulling his boyfriend close to him and nuzzling his face in Keith's hair.

"You're so stupid," Keith whispered, burying his face in Lance's chest, a slight smile on his face.

Lance let out a light chuckle, holding Keith tightly against his him. "Say what you will. I'm not going anywhere."

"I know," Keith mumbled, snuggling close to the warm alpha. He felt safe in Lance's arms. Nobody other than Shiro made him feel safe when they held him like this.

After a few moments of comfortable silence, Lance spoke, wanting to lighten the mood a little bit by talking about something else. "So. Who's this Adam?" He wiggled his eyebrows comically, hoping to get a laugh from Keith.

Keith did giggle at Lance's ridiculous display. "Were you eavesdropping?" Keith accused playfully, smirking softly.

"Maybe," Lance averted his gaze dramatically, his crooked smile on his lips.

"Whatever," Keith rolled his eyes, grinning. "But Adam is my brother's mate. They've been mates for a few years now. Don't worry, he's not going to hit on me."

"I-I wasn't worried!" Lance stammered, blushing profusely.

Keith scoffed, flicking Lance's nose gently. "He's another older brother to me. He's an omega, too. It wouldn't work out between us, anyway. There's no need to worry about Adam being a threat."

Lance let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding. He knew that Keith wouldn't look at anybody other than him, but that didn't keep Lance's inner alpha from getting jealous about the possibility of Keith leaving for another alpha. "Sorry. I'm not trying to be one of those super controlling alphas. I can't help it when my inner alpha tries to control certain things. I know that you aren't gonna look at anybody else."

"It's okay. Shiro gets like that sometimes, too. But it's also because he's my older brother and my dad's an asshole," Keith shrugged, resting his head on Lance's shoulder as he traced patterns on his chest.

"True," Lance chuckled shyly, kissing the top of Keith's head and rubbing his arm.

"You're so warm," Keith closed his eyes as he cuddled closer to his alpha. He knew he'd said that multiple times, but that happened to be one of the qualities he looked for in people. Since his younger years, he'd been attracted to those with higher body temperatures.

"I am a furnace," Lance agreed with a dramatic sigh as he brought his hand to his forehead. "Woe is me!"

"Shut up!" Keith laughed, smacking Lance on the chest. "And I like it! I like warm things. And you are a warm thing."

As Lance began to reply, his door opened, revealing his mother. She held a platter with plates of steaming food and glasses of Sprite.

"Ah! Ustedes están despiertos! Te hice el almuerzo. Leandro, solo te dejo comer en tu habitación porque Keith está aquí y está sufriendo," She smiled at Keith, her chocolate eyes crinkling. "Keith. Make sure Lean doesn't spill, okay?"

Keith nodded, laughing. He could tell Lance had blush dusting his cheekbones, which made him giggle. He enjoyed the sound of Lance's mother speaking Spanish and he also took pleasure in hearing her trilling accent when she spoke English. "I will."

"Bueno! I'll give this to you," She stepped into the room and carefully setting the platter down on Keith's lap. "Careful, it's hot." She warned, shaking out her hands.

"Thank you, Mrs. McLain," Keith replied, flicking his hair out of his eyes as he took the glasses of Sprite off the tray to put them on the nightstand.

"Oh! No need to be so formal!" Lance's mom brushed off the title with a wave of her hand. "Call me Rosa. You are Leandro's novio. You don't have to impress me."

It was now Keith's turn to blush. "O-okay. Thank you."

Lance snorted behind his hand, grinning slyly. In response, Keith whacked him in the chest, sticking out his tongue.

"Well. I'll leave you two alone now. I'll be downstairs if you need anything," Rosa laughed lightheartedly before turning away to leave in a whirlwind of bright flowing skirts.

"I like your mom. She's nice," Keith said, blowing on what he assumed to be an empanada.

"Not when she's mad, she's not," Lance chuckled, reaching for his own empanada.

"Either way, I like her," Keith said with conviction, taking a bite of the crunchy dough. He washed it down with a swig of Sprite before speaking again. "She keeps calling you Lean or Leandro. Why?"

"Ugh. That's my real name. Lance is just a nickname I took on when I was in kindergarten because the other kids and the teachers couldn't pronounce my name," Lance rolled his eyes, taking his own drink of soda.

"I mean, Keith isn't my name either. When I was in preschool the other kids teased me for having a foreign name so my mom decided to change my first name to Keith," The omega shrugged as he devoured another empanada. "And no. I am not telling you what it is."

"Aw... Please?"

"No."

"Please?"

"No."

Lance began to tickle Keith's sides, forgetting about the injuries. Keith began to giggle, squirming around.

"S-Stop! We're gonna spill!" Keith panted, chest hurting from the laughter.

"Ah! Right, sorry!" Lance stopped, steadying the tray balanced on Keith's lap. He kissed the back of Keith's neck gently, trying to make up for hurting Keith.

"Mm, it's alright," Keith hummed, he looked at the other plates of food, trying to decide what to try next.

"The huevos habaneros are good. It's eggs with tomatoes, peppers, and cumin. Mama makes it really good," Lance recommended, pointing to the heaping plate of eggs. "The pan con bistec and the maduros are good too."

Keith groaned, pouting up at his boyfriend. "That doesn't help! I don't know what to try now!"

Lance laughed, nuzzling his nose in Keith's hair. "Sorry, honeybadger. But how are you gonna eat all that McDonald's after eating Mama's food?"

"My stomach is a never-ending pit," Keith made an overly serious face, voice low. "It must be filled at all times or it rages violently, destroying everything in its path."

The seriousness of the omega made Lance burst into laughter, throwing his head back. "You're so cute."

Keith's face burned and he turned away, busying himself with eating the eggs. "Shut up."

"Make me," Lance taunted, leaning down so he was next to Keith's face.

With a sudden burst of confidence, Keith turned his head, pressing his lips against Lance's. Shocked, Lance froze for a moment before kissing back sweetly. He reached up, placing his hand on Keith's cheek, caressing the omega's face. They jumped apart at the sound of the doorbell, hearts pounding.

"That's Adam," Keith murmured, not wanting to get up to answer the door.

"Mama! Abre la puerta!" Lance shouted. "Por favor!"

"Estás esperando a alguien?" Rosa called up, question in her voice.

"Sí! Es el novio del hermano de Keith," Lance replied. "Él está aquí con la comida. Déjalo subir a mi habitación."

"Bueno," Rosa replied.

Soon enough, the two boys heard footsteps on the stairs. A light knock sounded on the door.

"Come in," Keith said, resting against Lance's warm body.

Adam opened the door, poking his head in shyly. His light brown curls fell into his face, covering his deep brown eyes. In his arms, he held a large bag with the McDonald's logo on it. The milkshake, drink, and McFlurry were balanced in his hands.

"Hey. I brought your food," Adam chuckled nervously.

"Thanks. Could you bring it over here?" Keith asked, feeling bad for making Adam do so much for him.

"Sure," Adam smiled, walking into the room and setting down the bag on the bed. The drinks ended up on the nightstand beside Lance's bed. "After you eat, do you want me to drive you to Shiro's apartment?"

Keith bit his lip, not wanting to leave his boyfriend. "Um... N-not really... I want to stay here. W-with Lance."

Adam sighed with a slight grin, running a hand through his curly hair. He nodded, pushing his hands into his pockets. "Okay. I'll tell Shiro. I'm sure he'll be fine with you staying here as long as you want, but I know for a fact he'll want you to call to tell him you're okay. Alright?"

"Yessir," Keith replied, giving a salute. He giggled softly, always enjoying Adam's reaction to Keith's salute. The older man would smile, roll his eyes, and shake his head.

"I'll leave you to it, then. Call me or Shiro if you need anything," Adam said before turning to leave.

"Thanks for the food!" Keith called after him.

Lance kissed Keith's neck gently, making shivers run down the omega's spine. Keith began to purr softly as he brought the paper bag full of junk food onto his lap. The smell of the grease made his stomach growl. Lance chuckled behind him, making Keith smile.

"Eat up, honeybadger."
