I woke up for school Monday and felt like absolute shit.I definetly had gotten a cold from being out in the rain Saturday.I pulled myself out of bed and got changed into some black sweats and a white shirt.I went downstairs and ate a banana hoping it would give me a little energy.When I heard a honk outside I went and met Danny.

"You look pretty rough."

"Don't tell me that.I tried my best to hopefully look okay."

"What's wrong?"

"I think I got a cold."

"Then you should be staying home and resting."

"I'll be okay.I don't need my dad freaking out again."

"Promise you'll go home if you feel worse."

"I promise."

I felt the car stop and Danny ran around and helped me out.We kept our arms linked and walked through the hallways together.I seriously loved Danny.He was like my big brother even though he was only a couple months older than me.We got to our classes and I spent most of first and second trying not to fall asleep.When lunch came I was ready to go home and sleep for the next three days.I went into the cafeteria and sat with Danny,Jackson, Allison,and Lydia who were for some reason sitting with Scott and Stiles.I sat beside Danny and laid my head on his shoulder.

"You look like shit."

"I feel like it.I'm gonna go home."

"You need me to take you?"

"No.I'll get a ride."

I pulled out my phone and hit the button on the side that I had assigned as Derek's speed dial.I held it up to me ear.

"Hello?"

"Hey Der."

"Alice?Are you okay?"

"Define okay."

"In any physical or mental trouble or pain."

"Well I'm currently suffering from a cold and was hoping you weren't doing anything and would be willing to come get me from school."

"I'll be there in five."

He hung up before I could say anything else.I put my phone away and stood up grabbing my walking stick.

"I have someone coming to get me.I'll see you all when I feel better."

"Bye Ally."

I walked off but I heard a chair scrape against the floor.I felt someone touch my shoulder.

"Is dad coming to get you?"

"No.But I'll call him and tell him I'm leaving."

"Who's coming to get you?"

"Derek.He'll be here in a minute."

"He's dangerous Alice."

"He really isn't Stiles.He's been there for me and protected me.The only dangerous people around me are Scott and the alpha.Now if you'll excuse me I'm going home to sleep."

I turned and walked out of the cafeteria and down the hallway to the main door.I went to the stairs and carefully sat down waiting for Derek.I heard a car pull up.

"Alice."

"Hey Der."

I felt him grab my hands and lead me down the stairs to his car.

"Why'd you come to school today if you have a cold?"

"I didn't want to worry my dad and I just didn't want to be alone."

"You should have called me.I would have come over with you."

"I feel bad about bothering people."

"You're never a bother to me.I'm going to keep you safe no matter the time of day or place."

"Thanks Der."

I felt the car stop.

"Hold on."

I heard Derek get out and a few seconds later my door opened.

"We're a few houses down but we're here."

"Okay."

He grabbed my bag from me and I looped my arm through his as we walked.A few minutes later we got to my house and I let him in.

"I need to call my dad and then I'm gonna sleep."

"I'll be here the whole time."

"Okay."

I went up to my room and threw my bookbag down.I called my dad as I was taking off my jacket and shoes.

"Hello."

"Hey dad."

"Alice what's up?Shouldn't you be in class?"

"I actually called to tell you I came home.I've got a cold and I couldn't stay awake in class."

"Okay honey.Do you need me to come home?"

"No.I'm okay.I'm just gonna sleep."

"Okay.Call me if you need anything."

"I will."

I hung up and put my phone on the charger.I pulled back my covers not really worried about where Derek was or what he was doing.I knew he was here and that was enough to make me feel safe.I curled up and closed my eyes having sleep over take me.

I woke up with a scream and shot up trying to control my breathing.

"Are you okay?"

I looked towards the direction I thought Derek was.

"It was just a nightmare."

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"It was about the alpha.That he came back for me."

I felt him sit beside me and put a hand on my shoulder.

"He's not going to touch you ever again."

"How do you know?"

"I'm going to protect you.I promise you that I'm going to protect you."

"Okay."

"Go back to sleep.You need it."

"Will you stay here with me?"

"Of course."

I laid back down and curled up to face him.I closed my eyes and hoped that sleep now would be more peaceful.
　
　

　
Derek's P.O.V.

I looked over at Alice and she was sound asleep.I hated the fact that the alpha had come after her and left her so scared.She was so innocent but fierce.She tried hard not to let people see her upset.She started shivering in her sleep and pulled the blankets closer to her but it didn't help much.I moved closer to her and she seemed to sense my body heat because she moved closer to me.She buried her head in the crook of my neck and held onto my shirt.I carefully wrapped my arms around her and held her close.Her shivering stopped and she continued to sleep peacefully.
