Hey guys. Sorry it's taken so long to get this up. I've had it written for awhile, I've just been going through some really upsetting stuff. I've got two more filler chapter ideas, that I think you guys will like, before I start on season two.  I hope you guys are still enjoying the story.

It took a lot of explaining and convincing my dad before he let Derek come back to the house with us. I think the fact that I wouldn't let go of him had something to do with it too. My dad wasn't happy with all of the lies but he seemed to accept everything a little bit. When we got back to the house Derek helped me upstairs and into my room. I sat down on the edge of my bed and he kneeled infront of me.

"What do you need right now?"

"I want to shower and then lay down."

"I'm going to go downstairs and get some food for you while you get cleaned up."

"Okay. Can we talk after?"

"If you feel up to it."

"I do."

"Get cleaned up. I'll be right back."

I carefully got up and grabbed some clothes before going and taking a shower. The warm water helped relax my sore muscles. After standing under the hot water for almost ten minutes I got washed off. Once I was done I dried off and changed into my pajamas. I carelessly threw my hair up and walked back into my room. I could feel someone was with me.

"Hello?"

"It's just me. I got you a sandwich and some water."

"Thank you."

I sat down on my bed with my back against the wall. I felt a plate placed on my lap and took small bites of the sandwich. I didn't have much of an appetite but tried. I took sips of the water until I couldn't handle anything else. I pushed the plate away and pulled my knees to my chest.

"What are you thinking about?"

I looked in Derek's direction.

"Everything. It's a lot to wrap my head around."

"Maybe we should wait to talk about everything until you've gotten some rest."

"No. No, I want to know. I don't want to wait."

I heard him sigh and felt him sit beside me on the bed.

"Do you remember that story I told you when we were hiding out?"

"About your parents?"

"Yeah."

"I remember."

"I told you that I didn't believe her when she told me. That something had changed my mind. It's more like someone."

I tried to hide the hurt from my face.

"Oh."

I looked away from him hoping it would help.

"So you've found them?"

"Yeah."

"I'm happy for you."

He chuckled and grabbed my hand.

"For someone so smart, you're kind of oblivious."

I furrowed my brows at him.

"What do you mean?"

"It's you Alice. I changed my mind when I met you."

My eyes widened. I couldn't believe it.

"M-Me?"

"Yes, you. When we met in the woods that first time, I could tell there was something different about you. And then I got to know you. It's always been really easy to talk to you and let my walls down. I feel more in tune with you and your emotions. I think I've known since that night, I've just had trouble wrapping my head around it. Then I found the necklace my mom left for you and what Peter said to you. It all started to make more sense."

"W-Wow. I don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything right now. You've been through a lot. It can wait."

"I want you to know that even though I'm having trouble processing everything, I'm happy about it."

"I'm happy about it too. Now, lay down. Get some rest."

"Stay with me?"

"Of course."

I slid closer to Derek and laid my head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I used his heartbeat to lull me to sleep.

Derek's P.O.V.

Having Alice safe and asleep in my arms was the best thing I had felt in days. Seeing her in pain was one of the worst things I'd ever been through. She didn't deserve to be dragged into all of this, but I know she'd never leave it alone. I looked up when someone knocked on her door softly. She stirred a little but stayed asleep. Her dad walked in a few seconds later. I could tell he didn't like me or the fact that I was close with Alice, but he wouldn't ruin something that made her happy.

"She's finally getting some rest?"

"She just fell asleep."

"Has she talked about what happened yet?"

"No. Give her time. After the attack at the video store, she wanted to wait until the following day."

"You were with her?"

"Yes."

"Exactly how long has this been going on?"

"We met right before she started school again."

He looked shocked by the information but nodded his head.

"I guess we've all got a lot of talking to do tomorrow. I assume you're staying?"

I nodded my head and pulled Alice a little closer.

"I'm not leaving her."

"Yeah, I can see that."

He turned and left the room leaving the door cracked. Under different circumstances I would've found it funny. I carefully reached over and turned off the lights before moving down and falling asleep beside her.
