I woke up to my alarm going off.I fumbled around until I turned it off.I got out of bed and made my way to my bathroom.I got in the shower and washed off all of the dirt and leaves from last night.Once I was clean I got out and got dressed in black jeans,a red top,and my jean jacket before sliding on some black flats.I grabbed my bookbag and went downstairs.I guess dad had already left for work.I went into the kitchen and ate an apple for breakfast while I waited for Lydia to get here.When I heard a honk outside I grabbed my stuff and walked out to her car.She got out to meet me at the end of the walkway.

"Cute outfit Al."

"Thanks Lyd.I'm sure you look amazing as well."

"Always."

She held onto my arm and helped me into the car.We talked about the classes we had this year.Jackson and I were both Juniors so we were a grade year ahead of everyone else.I was working on graduating after this year since I already turned 18 during the summer.I got held behind a year because of the incedent and becoming blind.When we pulled up at the school I was able to get myself out of the car but Lydia came around and linked her arm with mine.

"Ready to have an amazing first day?"

"Always."

We walked into the school together and Lydia was telling me about how much shopping she did to prepare for the first day.It didn't surprise me at all.We were at our lockers when I heard Jackson apporaching.

"Hello girls."

"Hey Jacks."

"Ready for the day?"

"As ready as I can be on a first day."

"Are you guys coming to practice?"

I heard Lydia's locker shut.

"Of course I am.Gotta cheer on the team captain."

"Alice?"

"I'll be there.I have a doctors appointment afterwards that Stiles is supposed to drive me to."

"Call me if he doesn't show."

"I can't.I don't know where my phone is.I'm sure it'll be okay."

The bell rang and we went to our classes.Jackson helped me since we had the same schedule basically.Classes were all boring.I had to record all of my lessons incase I needed to relisten to it later on for homework or something.When the day was over I was walking with Lydia.

"New girls jacket is killer."

"We can go talk to her if you want."

She started leading me over to her.

"That jacket is killer.Where'd you get it?"

"My mom was a buyer for a boutique back in San Francisco."

"And you are our new best friend.Hey Jackson."

I sidestepped alittle so Jackson and Lydia could do their thing.I looked in the general direction I thought the new girl was in.

"My name's Alice."

"I'm Allison."

"Welcome to Beacon Hills."

"So this weekend.There's a party."

"A party?"

"Yeah.Friday night.You should come.The three of us will be there."

"Uh I can't.It's family night this Friday.Thanks for asking."

"You sure?Everyone's going after the scrimage?"

"You mean like football?"

"Football's a joke in Beacon.The sport here is lacrosse.We've won the state championship for the past three years."

"Because of a certain team captain."

"Well, we have practive in a few minutes.That is, if you dont have anywhere else..."

"Well I was going..."

"Perfect.You're coming."

I felt Lydia grab my arm and then we were walking to the field.We found spots to sit and they watched practice while I more or less just sat there listening.A little while into practice I heard Allison talk.

"Who is that?"

"Him?I'm not sure who he is.Why?"

"He's in my english class.He seems like he's pretty good."

"Oh, very good."

Once practice ended Lydia led me to the main steps where I was waiting for Stiles to meet me.I sat there fiddling with my sleeves hating that I didn't have my phone.I don't know how long I was there but everything was silent.Like no one was even at the school.I sat there for what felt like hours before I heard someone.

"Alice?"

"Jacks."

"He didn't come did he?"

I shook my head trying to hold in tears.

"Come on.Let's get you home."

He helped me up and over to his car.The ride to my house was mainly filled with my sniffling and labored breaths.When we got to my house I just sat there for a minute.

"You want me to punch him for you?"

"No.I'd like to do it myself."

"Have your dad call me if you need anything."

"Thanks Jacks."

I got out of the car and counted my steps to the door and up to my room.I was stopped halfway to the stairs by my dad.

"Where were you?Your appointment was today."

"Stiles never picked me up.He left without me."

"What?!"

"He just left me at the school."

I took a deep breath trying not to cry.My dad came over and hugged me.

"Go on up to your room.I'll call the doctor and see if we can get it rescheduled."

"They won't reschedule.It was $600 just to get the appointment."

"I'm sorry honey.I'll see what I can do."

I turned away from him and went up to my room.I was so close to being in my room when Stiles stopped me.

"How'd your appointment go?"

"I don't know Stiles.How did it go?You were supposed to drive me remember."

"Oh my god.I'm so sorry.I had to help Scott find his inhailor in the woods.I completely forgot."

"Just like you guys forgot me in the woods last night?"

"Alice I'm really sorry."

"No you're not.You owe me $600."

"What?!Why?!"

"Because that's how much my appointment today cost.I've been saving for years for the chance to meet them and you ruined it Stiles.You ruined my one chance."

I turned away from him and walked into my room shutting the door.I threw my bookbag into the corner and sat on my bed.I took my glasses off and threw them back against my pillows.I rubbed my eyes trying to keep the tears from coming.I jumped when I heard a knock on my window.I stood up and walked over to it.I fumbled around with the lock not really knowing what I was doing since I never used it.I slid the window open a little bit.

"Hello?"

"Hey."

"Derek?What are you doing here?At my window?"

"I found your phone in the woods today.I'm not very good with meeting new people and I heard yelling and didn't want to intrude."

I slid the window open all the way.

"Come in."

I sat back down on my bed while he crawled through.I felt my phone being placed in my hand.

"It's dead but I figured it was yours by your phone case."

I smiled a little at the memory.My case was of Jacks,Lydia,Danny,and I during the summer.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

I threw my phone back towards my pillows with my glasses.

"Are you okay?"

"I don't know."

"What happened?"

"I had an appointment with an eye surgeon today.They were going to see if there was any way for me to get my sight back.My brother was supposed to drive me but he left me at the school instead.Deciding his friend was more important than his sister.I'd been saving for so long to get this appointment."

"I saw them earlier.They were trespassing on the land by my house."

"I'm sorry about them.They aren't the brightest."

"You don't have to apologize for them.I'm sorry you didn't get to go to your appointment."

"Don't apologize.It's not your fault."

I felt him wrap and arm around my shoulder and I leaned into him laying my head on his shoulder.Slowly the tears started to pour out of my eyes.He rubbed my arm comfortingly but I was too upset to notice much else.I don't know how long I cried but I guess eventually I fell asleep.
