I was in the backseat of Lydia's car while her and Jackson fought over what movie they were picking. I don't know why they always invited me to these things. I couldn't watch them either way.

"Hoosiers is not only the best basketball movie ever, it is the best sports movie ever made."

"No."

"It's got Gene Hackman and Dennis Hopper."

"No."

I snorted a little at her small basic replies. She knew she was making him upset, but she didn't seem to care.

"Lydia, I swear to god you're gonna like it."

"No."

"I'm not watching The Notebook again."

Lydia didn't answer and I just rolled my eyes.
"Come on Jacks. I'll help you pick."

He sighed but got out of the car and helped me out. He looped my arm with his and we went inside. He was just walking around looking at things while I stood there feeling quite useless.

"Can somebody help me find The Notebook? Hello? Is anybody working here?"

We were met with complete silence.

"You gotta be kidding me."

I didn't like the silence.

"Jacks, lets just go. Something doesn't feel right about all of this."

"Hold on. I see something. Just stay right here."

I rolled my eyes.

"Where the hell else am I supposed to go?"

I felt him walk off and I folded my arms over my chest. I heard Jackson gasp at something in the distance.

"Jackson? What is it? What do you see?"

I felt a quick shift and gust behind me and froze. I felt heavy breathing on my neck. The same feeling I got from the alpha before.

"J-Jacks?"

"Alice, don't move. It's okay. Just stay still."

I felt the alpha move the hair from my neck and whisper in my ear.

"So good to see you again Alice. I like the necklace. What would Derek think if it was covered in blood though? Probably hurt his little heart so much. I wonder if he'd feel the pain without the bond? Maybe we'll test that soon."

I whimpered in fear.

"P-Please. D-Don't."

I felt him run from me quickly and then I heard a lot of falling, followed by a small scream from Jackson. I fell to my knees in shock and fear. I was shaking and all I could think of was his words. Was he really going to kill me? Why did he always connect me with Derek? What bond was he talking about? Why would Derek feel it?

"Alice. Alice, can you hear me?"

I was broken from my own world and I looked up towards the voice.

"D-Dad?"

I was pulled into his arms.

"I've got you Alice. You're okay now."

I started crying into his chest. I was so scared.

"Come on. We need to get you checked out."

He carefully pulled me to my feet and led me out of the building. I could hear a lot of people walking around and talking. I was slowly lowered onto what felt like the edge of a car.

"The paramedics are going to look you over real quick. I'm gonna get a statement from Jackson and I'll be right back."

I barely nodded my head and he was off.

"Hi Alice. My name is Emily. I'm gonna look you over real quick. Is that okay?"

"Yeah."

"Did you hit anything in there? Get any injuries?"

"No."

"You should be okay then. If you need it, your dad has the contact of a really good councilor. She can help you if you need it."

I just nodded my head. I didn't want to think about that. I felt her move away from me and I briefly heard yelling before I was back in my own world. It seemed like no where was safe now. Not alone, not with friends, not even with the necklace.

"Alice, I'm gonna have a deputy take you and Stiles home okay? I'll be there as soon as I can."

"Okay."

He helped me up and led me over to a vehicle. He carefully helped me in and shut the door. I felt someone grab my hand and I knew it was Stiles. He gave it a gentle squeeze but didn't try and talk to me. When we pulled up at the house Stiles helped me inside and up to my room. I sat down on my bed and looked down.

"Do you want some tea? Or a blanket? What can I do?"

"I think I just want to be alone for awhile."

I heard him sigh.

"Okay. I'm gonna go call Scott."

I nodded my head in his direction. He walked off but he stopped in the doorway.

"As much as I hate to admit it or say it, maybe you should call Derek. He could be good for you right now."

I heard my window slide open and Stiles jump back in freight.

"I'm already here."

"Jesus christ man. How the hell did you do that? Have you done that before? Do you do that often?"

I blocked out Stiles when I felt Derek kneel infront of me.

"Der..."

I could feel tears streaming down my face again.

"I know."

He pulled me into his arms and started sobbing into his shoulder. My bedroom door shut and Derek picked me up and sat down with me on his lap. He ran his hands up and down my back in a soothing way.

"I've got you. You're safe now."

"I was so scared."

"I'm sorry I wasn't there."

I shook my head.

"You couldn't have known he'd do something around other people."

"I promised I'd do what I could to keep you safe."

"And you have."

I felt myself getting super tired.

"Can we talk about this tomorrow? I think I really need some sleep."

"Go change and then we can lay down."

"Okay."

I made my way to the bathroom where I knew my pajamas were and changed into them really quick. Once I was done I went back and laid down on, what I was now calling, my side of the bed. I felt Derek lay down beside me and I moved as close to him as possible. He pulled me up so my head was on his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and I was out.
