"Uh, Reid, do you want to fill me in on what the fuck is going on?" My best friend asks me Monday morning, interrupting mine and Grayson's conversation at my locker.

My heart stops and I look at Grayson with panicked eyes before turning to face Preston. "What do you mean?" I question as Alex shows up.

"I mean, why is Alyssa telling people she dumped your ass cause you were a shity boyfriend and shittier in bed? You guys had sex?"

I internally sigh in relief. Thank God. I thought Preston figured out what's going on between Grayson and I.

"She also said you had a small dick," Alex not-so-helpfully adds. It's not, by the way. If you must know, I'm average and I'm fine with that.

"What a bitch," Grayson mutters with a shake of his head.

"I dumped her by the way," I tell them. Alyssa can talk all she wants. I'm just glad she didn't tell people the truth; that I broke up with her after having sex. It wasn't me being a horrible person, it was me obviously into someone else and not wanting to lead her on... okay maybe I am still a horrible person for that.

"Downstairs now," Preston demands, grabbing the strap of my backpack and pulls me with him. Alex and Grayson follow.

My best friend makes sure the teachers and staff are out of sight before opening the door that reads "Do NOT Enter!" You'd think authority would know by now that if you tell adolescents to not do something, it has the opposite effect.

Downstairs, the hallway's remaining smell of someone's smoking habits filled my nostrils. (Alex joked that he'd "love to meet this mysterious Mary Jane")

In the vacant, downstairs bathroom, the smell isn't as intense, and Preston finally let's go of me. "Explain."

I sigh, "I broke up with her Saturday night..." I scratch the back of my neck, not wanting to continue out of guilt, but then tell them, "after we had sex Friday night."

Preston's jaw drops. Alex has wide eyes. Grayson grimaces.

Then Preston grins and, with his hands on my shoulders, jumps up and down. "You lost it to Alyssa?! Hell yeah! How was it?"

I see Grayson roll his eyes. "I think the warning bell rang, I'll see you guys later," he mutters emotionlessly as he walks out.

Fuck. I want to reach out to him and apologize for the hundredth time, but then I'd have to explain to Alex and Preston why Grayson looks bothered and why I said 'sorry'. So I don't.

I smack Preston's hands off of me. "I also broke up with her."

"That's kind of fucked up," Alex utters like he's disappointed in me. I feel the disappointment sink deep into the pit in my stomach like a sunken ship in the ocean.

"I know! But it wasn't like how you guys are thinking. I was planning on breaking up with her beforehand cause she's..." not Grayson. I can't tell them that of course. "She's too damn clingy and kinda whiny. I was gonna break up with her after the party Friday night, but then we started drinking... a little too much. And it just happened. Then I felt like shit in the morning," I explain the best I could without lying.

Continuing, I tell them, "I was gonna wait cause I know how shitty it is to break up with her after sleeping with her, but I didn't want to lead her on." Half true; I was not thinking about waiting.

"Jeez," is all Alex says and I wonder how disgusted he is with me. But then he shrugs, "well you guys barely dated a week. She'll get over it."

"Yeah," Preston agrees with a nod. "Was it good at least?"

I roll my eyes. "It was fine," I lie. It sucked.

At lunch, Alyssa and MaKenna don't sit with us. Makes sense; Alyssa hates me now and MaKenna is more loyal to Alyssa.

They give me death glares as I walk into the lunch room. I also hear someone whispering to their friends about Alyssa dumping me cause I have a small penis.

I don't even know them and they're talking about me? Realizing it, a lot of people are glancing at me and snickering. Or maybe I'm just paranoid. Ugh! This is what sucks about having popular friends in a small school.

I feel anxious, like I'm about to throw up. The twisting and turning knots in my gut does nothing to help my nausea.

That is until Grayson walks up to me, his arm brushing against mine, and asks, "are you okay?" Shrugging is my answer as we continue to our lunch table. "Say the word, and we'll ditch school right now," Grayson whispers to me, us both sitting down at our table. Alex and Preston aren't here yet.

"I'm fine. They can talk all they want," I try to convey that the chattering isn't bothering me, but I've always had a bad poker face.

Grayson's about to speak to me when a Junior walks up to our table with a devious grin. His name is Dylan and he's friends with Colton. Though I don't see Colton anywhere. Dylan leans his hands on the table, "Hey micro-penis, why don't you-"

Dylan is cut short. He must not have seen Preston coming up behind him cause the Junior is caught off guard when Preston rams his shoulder into Dylan. "Hey fuck-face, why don't you go sit your ass back down at your table," My best friend spits out angrily. His fists clenched, ready for a fight.

Everyone who sees this encounter gasps and the rest perk up to see all the commotion.
Oh God, please don't let a fight break out because of me!

Alex is at Preston's side in seconds while Colton comes up to Dylan's side. They must've walked into the cafeteria right in time.

Grayson also stands up. All the while, I'm just frozen in shock.

"What the fuck did you just say to him?" Colton questions Preston, getting dangerously close to his face.

Phones by surrounding students are immediately pulled out with their cameras facing us.

"I told your bitch to sit his ass down." Preston bravely dares to respond. What the shit is happening right now?

Colton looks ready to beat Preston to a pulp when a few teachers finally show up. On of them, Mr. Wilson, got in between Colton and Preston and yelled, "Alright, that's enough! Both of you, settle down or go to the Deans!" Mr. Wilson threatens them.

That's when Grayson and Alex get scared into siting back down at our table. Dylan takes a few steps back, but doesn't leave.

Colton and Preston, on the other hand, don't back down. Their death stare-off at each other lasts for another second before Colton grunts, shoves Mr. Wilson's hand away, and walks out of the cafeteria.

"That's what I thought," My gym teacher mutters then glares at Preston. "Sit down."

Preston quickly sits down and looks as if he's going to piss himself. I know I would've.

Mr. Wilson's glare turns to Dylan. "What are you still standing here for?" Dylan scurries off to his table. "Everyone," the teacher addresses the whole cafeteria, "eat your damn lunch!" And let me tell you, every student returns to eating or at least back to their table. "Jesus, I don't get paid enough for this high school shit," the teacher mutters with the shake of his head, and walks off with the rest of the teachers that approached the scene.

Our table is silent for a moment before Grayson speaks. "Well, that was intense."

"Yeah, you almost got your shit beat in," Alex says to Preston with a nervous chuckle.

Preston huffs and crosses his arms. "I could've taken Colton."

"Probably not," I join in then say seriously, "but I appreciate you standing up for me."

My best friend perks up and gives me a smile which I return until he pinches my cheek and jests, "Anything for my baby boy. I, as your father, will never let anyone hurt you."

"You're so fucking weird," I knock his hand off me and rub my cheek.
